If I could do less than 1 star I would. Ordered take out after being disappointed a little over a year ago, wanted to give it another shot as some reviews seemed good. Took over an hour first of all. Second we ordered the teriyaki chicken and house fried rice. The chicken in the teriyaki chicken order was very gummy and when I picked it up to look at it I pressed my fingers and it was very squishy and had a very dark brown color to it. Didn't eat any of it because the texture was so far off of the texture of chicken I'm used to eating. Flavor wasn't very good either. The house fried rice chicken was almost brown and the pork was very dry. I ate as much as I could take but didn't even really put a dent in it. I also ordered egg drop soup and there was several hairs in it and before I noticed the hairs it didn't really even matter because it had a distinct irony taste to it that made it not even edible. Wasted $50 on this food and this was the second time being disappointed. Will NEVER eat here again and don't recommend it. But try at your own risk. read more

This spot is really awful. We were so excited to have a Chinese restaurant near the new house we bought. Had a similar look and feel to china garden in Peachtree corners, so had some hope it would be decent. Tried it twice hoping the dry flavorless inedible leather chicken on a stick I got the first time and the flavorless garlic chicken was just an off night. It wasn't. Second time was even worse. The lemon chicken comes served like chicken katsu, instead of the typical orange or sweet and sour chicken; a little unexpected, but still really good. It's odd to me that the star rating is so low and indeed I almost skipped ordering from No. 1 Chinese because of the rating. This place is now our go-to restaurant for take-out and Delivery. I've found the food to be very good and the prices to be outstanding. Admittedly it's not the same as going to one of the places on Lawrenceville-Suwanee but it's great for eating at home and is half the price! So far we've tried the Shrimp Egg Fu Yung, General Tso's Chicken, Sesame Chicken, Egg Rolls, Crab Rangoon and of course the pork fried rice. They have all been very good and superior to what we were able to order for delivery in Buckhead. For sure the decor leads a bit to be desired and I can't see eating a meal in the restaurant but I don't think they expect you to stay and eat. I've eaten Chinese from almost every hole in the wall restaurant around the country and this has to be the worst! I should have left after first walking in and smelling sewage but I decided to give it a try. I ordered the General Tso Chicken and it came very quickly. It was red! Not a good red, but RED! It was the toughest smallest pieces of "chicken" I have ever had and the aftertaste wouldn't leave for 2 hours. I tried about 3 bites and trashed the rest. Not sure why they have a 2.5. No 1 Chinese has been our consistent go-to. We enjoy the fried chicken and fried rice but the shrimp and broccoli is my fav. Their combination platter will only run around $8 any time of the day. Delicious food. read more

I went to this resturant on 7/5/21 to order chicken fried rice. I had been her many times before. I was satisfied. This time the food had not taste, it was very gummy, no flavor. Seemed as if it was sitting around for a good while. When food sits, it gets gummy, flavor dissipates. I really thought it looked like dog food as it was clung together so tightly. I had never driven back to a chinese resturant to return a meal-but it was that bad. I suggested that she replace it for free? The lady said No. I felt like they did respect my time to drive home and return. My time is valuable too. I had to pay for the meal. Again, this is the first time I had ever done such a thing- it looked and tasted that bad! This is only my personal experience- I just wanted the resturant and potential customers know what my experience was. I have nothing against this restuarant, but I do believe they were wrong this time.
