Came here to meet some friends for lunch and was looking forward to trying their food. Thai food has always been one of our favorites, recently more because they typically have GF options. They had a spacious dining room with a handful of tables but also a lot of empty space so it didn't feel very cohesive. We had a group of 6 and pushed some tables together. My husband who has celiac normally orders a curry or even pad Thai but unfortunately when we went to order and told the server of his allergy, the chef came out and said he was sorry but he didn't have anything that didn't have soy. That was a little shocking because we've never been able to find anything that he couldn't eat, there was always at least one dish. Instead of leaving, the rest of us ordered and he sat and drank his coffee while we ate. I was utterly disappointed to say the least. However, I will admit that the food we did get was very tasty. Full of flavor, portions were good and nice spice. Our server gave good service so I did not want this to reflect a bad experience at all. I would suggest though being a Thai restaurant you should consider creating some dishes without soy or Gluten so that people with celiac can eat here. I know this is possible because we've never had an issue and also I've made Thai food without soy before. We still had a good time and enjoyed the food.

Very kind young man at the front of store. We opted to eat in. The menu consisted of your typical Thai and Lao ! Because it was my first time I thought I would order my go tos. Nam tok and drunken noodles. Excellent - we also ordered the Thai beef salad to see the difference between that and the Nam Tok. Everything was so delicious. I was hoping that they had mango sticky rice for dessert. They were out of Thai iced tea. I'm hoping that the next time I go, they have both.

This is a very nice hole in the wall place located north of Buford. The shopping center this restaurant is located at has a small size parking. I came here on a Saturday morning/affernoon and there were several people dining already. You order at the front counter and then seat yourself. I loved the home cooked feeling in here. I ordered the Basil chicken and huge papaya salad platter which included sticky rice, sausages, lettuce, cabbage, spring rolls, fried pork, papaya salad, and chicken salad. It was awesome and tasty. I maybe not listing the properly terminology on the Laos food but I am definitely coming back again to try out different types of food. The price value of food portion was great here as they gave you lots of food. I had so much left over that I had to get to go boxes. I can't wait to come back here again!

I haven't had Thai food since I moved here and had been hearing there are tons of great options! I was craving Thai at home and wanted something local and reasonable. I was pleasantly surprised to find this restaurant close enough to my house and with prices with amazing options! Service was great and amazing, it was quick and attentive. Once the food arrived it was absolutely delicious, packed full of smell and flavor. Everything was amazing and I left wishing I had a bigger stomach to have more and more! This is my new favorite place!

The restaurant is under new ownership. I was sad when we were just there this past wknd. The entire menu has changed and they no longer offer some of my favorite dishes like spicy basil chicken, spicy basil chicken fried rice, and many more that were always so delicious. The half the new menu now sushi and really I miss the restaurant being Thai and Laotian cuisine but I would like to try out their sushi next time.

Hidden gem! Bursting with flavor and authenticity! Reminds me of home!! Never would expect to ever find a spot where every single bite is delicious and above and beyond flavors. Don't change a thing!! Only problem is that it's located waayyy too far from me. This little mom and pop shop is right off the Lanier exit off 285 in Buford. Inside is very minimally decorated but they tried and the food is out of this world so who am I to expect more? Haha plenty of seating and cozy vibes. Menu clearly displayed at the front. Service was very quick and efficient. The server was knowledgeable and friendly. Even Saran wrapped my Togo for me. Food!! Papaya salad platter is a must when you are not sure what to order or want a little of everything! Could not keep my hands off the star! papaya salad was packed with flavor for the Lao style I chose and medium spicy is spicy! But not too crazy. I would go with mild if you are on the fence. Egg rolls were rolled tightly and gushing with noodles and flavor. The noodle portion was generous and not soggy or over seasoned. Loved!! The sausage and garlic pork that we ordered extra! Chicken larb was tasty and herby. $3 extra for beef- also came with side of sticky rice!! All you could ever ask for! Khao poon was also very good. I don't think it needed the squeeze of lime that you could add but the chicken meatballs and shredded chicken inside with the coconut curry broth hit the damn spot! Order with a coconut drink and you're good to go! A must stop when I'm in the area and 1000% recommend if you're looking for an extremely authentic Thai/Lao/Hmong spot! (Better than Snackbox IMO!)

Went here on Sunday afternoon when I craved for some noodles. The services were excellent but sadly the food was overly too sweet for our taste buds this time. From cucumber salad to pad see ew was super sweet. The noodles weren't cooked well enough, it was raw. We barely finished our dishes. We found that sticky rice cost $5 while main dish is $13. Our sticky rice wasn't fully cooked. Hopefully next time we come back, our dishes could be better.

First time enjoying this feels-like-home-cooking restaurant. The server was kind and helpful in walking through menu recommendations at the counter before self-seating. For appetizer, we tried the Chicken Egg roll. Main courses were the Thai fried garlic pork - great flavor on the spicier side served with fried rice - and the Drunken noodles chicken which were more neutral spice with vegetables. We couldn't resist the Fried banana with coconut ice cream. Delicious sweetness with the warmth of the banana and coolness of the ice cream. It may be a limited time item so get it while you can!

New owner, mixture of thai and Japanese menu.. they should update photos on yelp...no papaya salad platters or papaya salad at all... but still have some other dishes and sushi. I took food togo . 2 orders of pad thai. One chicken and one shrimp. Chicken pad thai had more portion size than shrimp pad thai. I paid more for the shrimp tho.....Not worth the money I spent. Not a happy customer...

They may serve it in takeout box but the food here is legit especially if you like Thai/Laos/Hmong cuisine you can't go wrong with the menu here. Definitely worth checking out in my opinion.

Had perhaps the best Pad Thai ever today at Sally's! Also had chicken egg rolls that were super awesome and fresh made!

I can't believe I almost forgot to share one of my new favorite go-to spots! If you're ever in Buford (off exit 8 on 985), you have to check out SALLY'S KITCHEN THAI AND LAO. My cousin @joe_hall01 was raving about this place not long after they opened, and after my first visit, I totally get why! Every dish I've tried here has been nothing short of amazing. Their BEEF PHO, PAD SEE EW, DRUNKEN NOODLES, FRIED RICE, SPRING ROLLS, EGG ROLLS, MEATBALLS, CURRY... the list goes on and on. Now, the pictures might not do the food justice because the dining area has that cozy, dim lighting, and I don't always carry the gear I should for the perfect shot. But trust me, the food speaks for itself! The service is super polite, and the prices? Most dishes are around $13-$15. My favorite Pad See Ew plate is just $13--thirteen!! And no worries about parking; there's a whole strip of stores and restaurants. I don't often repeat places because there's just so much out there to try, but when I need a guaranteed good meal after a tough day or week, Sally's is where I'm heading. I highly recommend you give them a try and let me know what you think! #rolieats #goodeats #goodfood #sallyskitchen #buford #thaifood

This restaurant needs as much hype as Sri Thai!! This place is even better than Sri Thai, the ingredients and food is fresher. The food is very traditional and authentically lao/thai. We were the only ones in the restaurant so the service was quick and employee was attentive. It's also clean inside, we saw they host midnight karaoke there! I love this place I would eat here again and I highly recommend this place if you want REAL Thai or Laos food!!

My partner and I decided to try Tani Thai 02.20.2026 and stopped by around 6:30PM for dinner…read more First off, the interior seemed clean and well-kept. The ambiance was dark and intimate, which I appreciated -- it gave the space a cozy, relaxed vibe that felt nice for a dinner date. The music was low and soft, which worked well since most of the tables were talking pretty loudly. It didn't feel chaotic or overstimulating, and we were still able to have a comfortable conversation. Service was decent -- we were seated quickly and the food came out in a reasonable amount of time. Here's what we ordered: Tiger's Tears ($15) - 3/5 This was the dish I was most excited about. It's described as grilled beef with chili-lime seasoning, onions, scallions, and sweet peppers. Unfortunately, it fell short of expectations. The beef was noticeably tough, chewy, and a bit sinewy rather than tender and juicy. The chili-lime sauce was very sharp and aggressively acidic -- overwhelmingly sour to the point where it masked the savory, char-grilled flavor of the meat. It was supposed to be spicy, but as an Asian who regularly eats and enjoys spicy food, there was barely any heat at all. The dish looked vibrant and colorful, but flavor-wise it felt unbalanced and slightly one-dimensional. Basil Fried Rice with Chicken ($18) - 2.5/5 The menu labeled this as spicy as well, but again, there was zero kick. Not even a subtle warmth. It tasted like very standard, plain fried rice -- mildly seasoned, slightly oily, and lacking depth. The fresh Thai basil aroma wasn't very pronounced, and the overall flavor felt muted and underwhelming. The chicken was okay texture-wise, but the dish as a whole didn't stand out or justify the price point. It needed more heat, more fragrance, and more boldness to feel like true Thai basil fried rice. Coconut Mushroom Soup with Chicken ($5.50) - 2/5 This one was disappointing. When it first arrived, it was comforting and creamy with a light coconut aroma. Initially, it tasted balanced and mildly savory. However, as it sat and I alternated between dishes, the flavor became increasingly sour and slightly off-putting. The chicken was extremely dry, stringy, and overcooked, which made it difficult to enjoy. The broth lacked the rich, silky depth I was hoping for and ended up tasting thin, overly acidic, and somewhat flat. Thai Teas ($5.50 each) - 3.5/5 Honestly, these saved the night. Sweet, creamy, and refreshing -- exactly what you expect from a good Thai tea. Smooth, well-balanced, and flavorful. Water - 0/5 I took one sip and didn't touch it again. It tasted like straight tap water with a faint cleaning solution scent. Thankfully, we had the Thai Teas to rely on. Overall, the experience was okay but not memorable. The atmosphere and ambiance were pleasant, but the food didn't quite deliver -- especially considering how Thai cuisine is typically bold, aromatic, spicy, and layered. For us, the dishes leaned either too sour or too bland, without much balance in between. Given the prices, we were expecting more depth and stronger flavors. Not a terrible experience, but not one we'd rush back for either.

I asked first if they cooked in peanut oil since I'm allergic to peanuts. The hostess told me she would check and came back and told me they cooked in vegetable oil... so we got seated pretty quickly. The service was pretty good. We ordered our food which took some time but the wait wasn't too bad. We ordered the fresh basil rolls as an appetizer, I ordered the shrimp & garlic wine and my friend ordered the tiger tears salad. We also ordered 2 cocktails a old fashioned and a lychee martini. As well as the mango with sticky rice for dessert. Let me tell you all the food was tasty and excellent. The ambiance was very cool. Definitely a cool place for a date night. I can say I will definitely be back again.

Not all heroes wear capes. Technically, this was my second visit. The first time, I wanted to write a review... but I tragically spilled our entire order in the car on the way home. (RIP, first impression.) So this round was my redemption meal. Everything was packed with care and precision, like a tiny takeout Tetris master handled it. Utensils, sauces, lime--all included. Not a single thing forgotten. A+ for organization. Chicken Pho: Loaded with tender chicken, flavorful broth, and enough liquid gold left over to sip the next day like a cozy little leftover gift. My 1-year-old shared it with me (tiny foodie in the making). I tossed in the hoisin, sriracha, fish sauce, and lime they provided, and boom: flavor bomb. Beef Drunken Noodles (Medium Heat): I ordered "medium" and they actually gave me medium--not "let us burn TF out of your mouth". Perfect balance. Again, the tiny foodie gave it 2 thumbs up!

Everything was great. Crispy rolls not pictured. This is the best drunken noodle with beef I have had in twenty years. Honestly I had given up ordering it because of prior disappointment. But it was great. Got medium spicy and may ask for hot spice level next time. The green pepper and carrot were perfectly cooked with a bit of crunch left but not raw. The beef was perfectly tender and a generous portion. The wings!! I have tried these wings wherever I can find them. These were perfectly crispy with a great carmelized fish sauce glaze. It was simple. Nothing fancy but perfectly done. Try them. Umami bomb! Not too fishy. Just flavor. Sweet, salty, crispy and juicy. The fresh spring roll was great too. I don't like when they are overstuffed with lettuce to make them look bigger. There was plenty of pork, vermicelli, cucumber and coriander (cilantro). Again, flavorful bites with the peanut sauce to round it out. The only thing I am upset about is I just found this place and it is just down the road from me.. so excited! The family that runs it is kinda and attentive. They have Chinese, Thai and added Vietnamese during covid when they took over. Everything is made with care.
