HORRIBLE! Delivered my families meals and the sweet and sour sauce was bad. It tasted like metal. Called for a replacment dish and they refused. Wanted to replace the sauce? how will that help, its now on the chicken. It my fault because I put the sauce on the chicken Is what I was told. Not that they served me DISGUSTING, METALLIC SAUCE. They give ZERO fucks about their food or customer service. Hung up on me without resolving the issue. "Not much my bank will do about it" Is what I was told after I had to call back on a different number to reach them. Now SUPPOSEDLY I will get the cost of the dish credited. Unreal. Cool. Ordered delivery on a Sunday about an hour before they closed. The timing they gave me for delivery was spot on! We live in camp hill, barely inside their 9 mile delivery radius (literally 8.96 miles) but they still delivered to us with no problems. We tried the crab rangoons, shrimp lo mein, shrimp fried rice, honey chicken, and boneless pork ribs. The crab rangoons were really good and crunchy. They do include scallions inside the filling, if you're someone who doesn't like them very oniony. There was lots of sweet and sour sauce given with them and it was great! The shrimp lo mein was hot and full of shrimp. 10/10 for that. The shrimp fried rice quart was also STUFFED full of shrimp and was very tasty. The honey chicken wasn't too sweet and the sauce and broccoli that came with it were good. It came with a side of white rice. The boneless pork ribs were just okay, I didn't love the consistency of the sauce or the sweetness level (too thin and not sweet enough) but the pork itself was good. So glad this place is open a bit later than the other Chinese places that offer delivery in our area. Can't wait to try other things on the menu. read more

This place was great! We just moved to the area and were craving American style Chinese food. We ordered the general tso chicken, crab rangoons ("crispy crab meat and cheese puff"), sweet and sour pork, and green curry with duck. Wow, we were surprised at how good it all was. There were even some hints of authentic Chinese seasoning mixed in with their American style egg rolls. The duck curry was amazing; we were not expecting a quality Thai dish. I think maybe most surprising was that as good as this food was, the reviews here are not favorable. I think if you're looking for authentic Chinese food, Szechuan or Cantonese or whatever, that's not what to expect here. Maybe those negative reviews were expecting something else? You won't find chengdu wontons, but you will find great tasting and quality American Chinese food. This place is great. We'll be back. read more

Our favorite local Chinese restaurant. Food always tastes fresh. Unlike some other places, the meat is never dry or stringy, and the variety of sauces all have distinct flavors. Good selection of appetizers, good prices, friendly staff. The dining area is very clean and pleasant, with windows and skylights that make it light and cheery. I especially enjoy the vegetable gyoza and meat gyoza, both of which always have the perfect level of crispiness and come with a delicious sauce. read more

China Garden is delicious! Fried rice is yummy, and chicken is yummy. I usually get General Tso's and they do it well. Good amount of spicy to sweet. Their dumplings are also tasty. If I could give this place zero stars I would!! The first time I ordered from here, I got Sweet and Sour chicken, and I was not a fan. When I bit into it, grease seeped out of the chicken. Since there is virtually nowhere that delivers in the Mechanicsburg Area, we got home from a long day of traveling and thought we'd give them a second try. I ordered an Egg Roll and Chicken Chow Mein for myself. The Egg Roll was very greasy. Their grease is not at the correct heat setting and their food is nasty! I googled the difference between Chow and Lo Mein prior to my ordering. It states that they are both noodle dishes, but Chow Mein has crisp noodles and Lo Mein has steamed or boiled. I asked what vegetables were in this dish and another dish, and chose Chow Mein. As you can see there are no noodles. I called to complain and the guy said "you spoke to someone that told you what was in the dish" and was very condescending. I expected him to apologize, and offer to send something else out, or a refund. I understand that this is a business, however at least serve edible dishes! I advised that they should provide adequate descriptions on their menu, and shared again that I only asked about the vegetables. Further, the broth that this was in was almost all grease. I don't know what type of chicken was used, but it was gristly and disgusting. My husband's Genera Tso's was very greasy as well. I referenced the reviews, and it's clear that this place has gone down hill. There are now no options for us for delivery and that is very sad! I advise ordering from one of the delicious Thai options and just getting take out. It's an inconvenience, but you'll be happy you did!! I like this place, I like the food, the flavor. However, I ordered the shrimp with green beans lunch special today and I found that it was more like 'greens beans with some shrimp'. There was a generous portion of fresh, yummy green beans, but if you're looking to get some protein out of this dish, you may want to order a side of shrimp. The shrimp were probably 25-30 count size, and there were maybe 6 of them in the entire dish. That being said, it was tasty, but certainly not what I was looking for. China Garden...I wouldn't normally review Chinese takeout - but this is an exception American Chinese food in my opinion has fallen so hard and so fast that it is universally horrid no matter where you go ...just about. I was sort of avoiding this place because at one point I had seen all the negative reviews. The whole west shore area really lacks anything good as far as good Chinese food goes. I have a friend who asked me to give it a second chance - and I was really surprised. China Garden was really good - I mean it wasn't fantastic - but it WAS really good. I got a coconut chicken curry that was wow....good. Loaded with mixed vegetables - and it was spicy and flavorful! We got egg rolls and spring rolls - the Egg rolls were good - prettymuch what you would expect, done well. Spring rolls were teh meh...oh well you cant win them all There are a few Thai dishes on the menu that look awesome - and I can't wait to try them! Prices were reasonable - portions were huge, delivery was fast and friendly. Was able to pay up front for everything on the credit card - excellent! The quality of the food here really seemed much better than what I have come to expect. There were tons of fresh Asian vegetables - not just chopped celery and carrots. There were mostly the standard American Chinese dishes on the menu - Generals Toe and his chicken along with the rest - but there are many other interesting combinations that are not typical which I find refreshing I will be eating here again - and probably soon read more

I got sick on my birthday and I couldn't go out so we ordered delivery and it came faster than we were told and tasted great !! Love the steamed menu and the beef and broccoli is great. read more

UPDATE: They have since added the online ordering and supposedly got new ownership. I've tried them a couple of times recently to see if there was improvement. Food is still mediocre and they managed to mess up my online order and sent fried rice instead of lo mein. So much for my theory that having it in writing would help... Original review: Tonight was my last time ordering from China Garden after ordering delivery at least weekly since moving to the area a few months ago. Food has ranged from tasty (Moo Shu) to not good (General Tso's) to inedible (do not under any circumstances try the Pad Thai). Though the food has been a mediocre experience sometimes it's worth the convenience of delivery. Tonight that was especially true as my husband and I came back emotionally exhausted from a family funeral. I desperately wish that area restaurants would use online ordering to ensure orders are correct. China Garden messed up our order in the most mind boggling way -- I ordered two combo platters and they gave us one container that held half of each of the main dishes smashed together. When I called to see how they would fix it they told us it would cost more. Finally after me explaining again that this was not what I ordered, they said they would give me "free" rice (which should have been part of my order that I paid for) but I had to come get it. I do not order delivery with the understanding that it will involve me leaving my house. I told them that if this was the solution they would lose my business, and so they have. I can put up with less than stellar food on occassion, but poor customer service is the last straw. read more

Husband got General TSO's and I got Coconut Chicken. They were both made with the same fried chicken with just added sauce. It was nothing special. The coconut Chicken didn't taste anything like coconut, more like a mayonnaise sauce poured over the top with some sprigs of broccoli. Don't waste your money. read more

Very nice staff, they offer delivery, but the food is average at best. We ate in tonight, which I don't recommend. I had honey chicken, which in my experience at other restaurants, is usually a tempura based chicken with a sweet honey sauce. This was nothing like I expected. It was not tempura, but still fried, tough and grisly and the sauce was very red and ketchup-y. I ate only a few bites before giving up. The general tso was average, the lo mein and egg rolls were also very basic. I prefer China One in Dillsburg which is also nothing special, but still tastier. If I was looking for authentic and delicious Asian, I'll stick to Chen's in Carlisle or Chef Wong's in Mechanicsburg. read more

My first time here and I had the food delivered. It came at a reasonable time. They require minimum of $15 and also charge $3 delivery fee. I usually try general tso's chicken at new Chinese places. I have ordered from here many times. The food is always good and the establishment always presented itself well. Last evening we ordered a delivery order to our home. When the driver arrived who had a younger person in their vehicle as well, came down my driveway at a high speed. We said something to him. At that moment we heard the younger person, who appeared to be a child, speaking in their language and yelling, assuming he didn't like the fact that we commented on his speed in OUR DRIVEWAY! Thank goodness our children were not out! He backed up, and instead of following our driveway out in reverse decided to turn around in our yard. He then continued to stick his head out the window and SPIT ON OUR CAR!!!!!!!!! I was completely appalled by his actions and in shock that this even happened. We called the restaurant immediately to report this and from what we could get from the person speaking the driver IS THE MANAGER?!?!?!?! This apparently is ok behavior for their associates as well as their manager and I can assure you we will not be dining with them again! It is a shame too because all the other delivery drivers we have had in the past were the nicest people that we tipped well, then this guy decides to treat us like the scum of the earth all because we told him to slow down on our property!!!!!!!! While, I will admit, the food was pretty good...the service left A LOT to be desired. I ordered online for dinner and arrived when I was told my pickup time should be. I waited at the restaurant for more than 30 minutes. I was not the only one that was waiting for along time either. A few patrons, while I was there, had come up to ask when they would be getting their food after waiting for a long time. There were no apologies of any kind offered. I would not suggest this place for anyone, unless they were in dire need for delivery. But I was surprised that they delivered to Dillsburg. The food was sub par. I ordered general tso chicken and pork fried rice. The chicken was not general tso. I'm pretty sure that it was orange chicken, when I called and explained they said that it was how they make it and it was general tso. They wouldn't let me exchange it for something else and they wouldn't refund me the money for it because that is how they make it. I eat Chinese at least once a week from China one and the place at the @CapitolCityMall . I usually get this from them. The fried rice was good and egg roll was ok. I don't think it's owned by the lady from Queens anymore but the food is just as good as we used to get back in Queens. I especially like the grilled mango shrimp.
