Loyalty card--already went back twice in a week!

Solid American Chinese food! Already went back within a week. I really want to give this place 5 stars but some of the noodle dishes I've had (Chicken Lo Mein combo and Beef Chow Fun--which I can't believe they had!) continue to be a little bland. What they nailed were the Hot & Sour Soup (tangy, spicy, flavorful, with lots of contents) and the General Tso's chicken (dressed with a spicy but sweet thick orange sauce). Delish!! Their pork dumplings definitely live up to the hype! You can tell they're house made. The exterior is soft, chewy, and pan-seared. I probably would prefer the shell to be a bit thinner since it wasn't crispy like I feel most pork dumplings are when done right but I can certainly appreciate the homemade nature. Definitely stood out and the meat inside was awesome! It's the same meat they use for the wonton soup too (which other than wonton filling, I felt the broth was a tad bland). The special combos are a great deal to try a bunch of things. Got the General Tso's Chicken, Beef Teriyaki, and Chicken Fingers for our daughter as we never know what she'll go. The beef teriyaki was on a single skewer with tiny pieces of meat, a few onions and bell peppers. Good idea with the skewer but would've preferred 2 sticks instead of 1 and reduced number of chicken fingers, which were a thick battered chunky chicken (like a fried dough almost) as opposed to thin strips of chicken. They were chewy like the pork dumpling shell but decent. Came with a lot of yellow pork fried rice. Sesame chicken is breaded with good sauce (similar to General Tso's). Additional standouts: - The service was fantastic as I had originally asked for my chow fun noodles to be crispy (saw "extra fried noodles for $0.50" thinking it was an option but those are the little bags of soup toppings--ha!). Got a call back though to clarify they only sautée the noodles and don't pan fry so it doesn't get crispy. - Love that they have a loyalty card (buy 10 meals of $25+, get a $25 meal free). - The shop is in a cute plaza where you can window shop while you wait for your order. All in all, some solid dishes with a lot of dishes that I don't normally see in a typical Chinese takeout menu. I'm excited to try some more dishes!

We made the 1hr and 15min ride from Fairhaven Ma. Order was placed Tuesday for Saturday pickup with instructions of how they do it...freshly made which was apparent. We got the Spicy Yo Po Noodles, Chicken Jin Jin's and Pork buns. Pickup was easy and we took our food to Tower Hill Brewery which was 8 minutes away and had excellent beers and Seltzer. To the food...everything was excellent! Yo Po noodles stole the show, the sauce is like nothing I've ever had. Downright delicious! 2nd for us were the Chicken Jin Jin's. Probably 2 orders next time. Last in our opinion were the Pork Buns. Hear me out...I love pan fried Peking Raviolis! I order them every time I order Chinese food. These buns were delicious, with the pillow like bun. However, they are similar to Peking Raviolis, just a thicker wrapper. Will we make the trek again...absolutely! Will we make the trip again? Absolutely!

I emailed about a week in advance, gave my budget and the number of people eating. I asked them to surprise us because we always love trying new things and we know every item on the menu is great. We were provided with an EXCELLENT meal of Pork & veggie buns, beef Jin Jin dumplings, spicy yo po & the green monstah noodles (we'd never had the monstah before, it is not for the faint of heart, be prepared for SPICY) I didn't wait too long for my pick up. The wait is fun, there are lots of meme type signs to read, a stream of beautiful landscapes & photos of folks enjoying food on the TV, and always great music playing. Everything was delicious and flavorful as always. We are so lucky to have this gem of a restaurant right in town.

Noodles tasted homemade + perfectly cooked, as were fresh vegetables. Broth was fragrant, & chicken perfectly velveted. Great dish if you have cold or flu. I saw too late that you can also Oder it with other proteins: I will try beef tang mein next time. Chili sauce is available so ask for some. Partner enjoyed his sweet and sour shrimp. Note that it is deep-fried shrimp with just rice and sauce on the side. Shrimp tasted fresh. Fried pork dumplings were also very nicely seasoned -subtle hit of ginger. Afraid I can't recommend egg rolls -no protein that I could detect. Just cabbage & sprouts (?) in small wrap. For those who care about service & facility= accommodating & quick service. Very clean with booth seating. Plenty of parking.

Hong Kong being the best and my friends family restaurant The Canton being a very close second. This is the second time I've eaten Ching Tao since it changed ownership and the second time I've seen a drastic change in the quality of their food. The difference is night and day. The new owner did what all stupid people do when they buy a great restaurant and trade what made it so great for more money. Such a stupid, STUPID move. He dropped the ball big time and if he doesn't change back right now, it's the beginning of the end for this once outstanding restaurant. I'm sorry. I've eaten this food since I was a kid and I'm 55 now. Trust me when I say what I say. The egg rolls are smaller and pre- cooked or pre cooked even more so when you get them now they're almost burnt and crusty. Not only that they're considerably smaller. I've ordered them on both occasions and they were exactly the same. The best egg rolls on the island by far are close to mall food quality now. I also got the General Tso's chicken. It's half breading now and falls apart on the fork before you can get it into your mouth. I was blown away at the reduction in size of the chicken, the change from chicken breast to thigh meat and doesn't taste half as good as it did. That's all I got the last two times I've eaten there so thats all I can give an opinion on but I'll guarantee everything's changed there in one way or another in the name of the all mighty dollar. I won't be going there again and it makes me genuinely sad. I'm going to miss that place.
