The karage chicken was made fresh, very crispy and moist! The bao bun pork was really good, and it was served with a some type of soy sauce , unfortunately the double umami flavors didn't mesh to well, it said there should've been a hoisen sauce but I did not see it. That would've easily fix that dish and balanced it with a sweet and savory combo. The ramen was solid, egg was seasoned and cooked just right. The broth was good and mixed well with the chili oil. The pork was a good portion of meat with it being both lean and fatty in certain spots. Unfortunately I thought it was missing flavor/marinade, it was quite bland by itself. Overall very satisfied with the experience here, food was good and it stands out as Asian spot in this predominately seafood heavy area. The bar area was a nice intimate spot for us and they had the Bills game playing which was great entertainment! Definitely come to this place for their happy hour, the prices and options were fantastic.

When we went inside, there was only one other party there and no music, so just whispers and the sounds of utensils against plates. There are about 4-5 booths and 1-2 regular tables to choose from. Since l am not familiar with Sichuan cuisine, I had Al help me choose my dishes. I went with the dumplings in chili sauce, fried rice, eggplant in garlic sauce, and chongquin chicken. While we waited, we were given water. The dishes came out at different times. They first served us the dumplings which were really good. The sauce they were in did have some chili sauce, but it was mostly like a sweet soy sauce and really tasty. It came with about 6 dumplings with a perfectly cooked wrapper and filled with flavorful pork - simple but delicious. Next was the eggplant. I was expecting a heavy garlic presence, but it was more like a sweet and sour sauce. The eggplant was very tender, but really hot so we had to wait to let it cool down a bit. The rice came after. I honestly think this was one of my favorite dishes since it was perfectly cooked, great flavor, and good portion. Lastly, the chicken came out. There was a large pile of chicken, but half of it was peppers. The chicken was cut into little bite sized pieces, each fried perfectly. Some pieces were more tongue numbing than others but it was nothing aggressive; very gentle and comfortable numb. I would have liked if there were music, but the no music was fine too; an escape from chaotic reality. Our total was around $50, which wasn't bad for the amount of food we got. I would come back to try other items.

I have never had a bad meal here, and I always try to be adventurous and try something new each time. With that being said, I always get an order of the Chongqing diced chicken. It is one of my fave dishes of all time (be warned, it is SPICY. Not for the faint of heart). The sauteed pig intestine with chili is another fave of mine. The dining area is spacious and cute, and the staff here is always incredibly nice and knowledgeable. Very helpful when there is a lot of dishes you might not be familiar with ! Chengdu is a must try if you are in the Smith Hill area of Providence. In fact , it's worth a trip to Smith Hill all on it's own.

At first glance, you don't see much from Elmwood Ave, but veer to the right and everything opens up on the left, with a parking lot in the back. Ornate statues lead you to the entrance, and once inside you are instantly greeted with bold colors and beautiful art everywhere. I wanted to take the opportunity to try some Cambodian food, so after some quick research, I opted for Beef Lok Lak, which happened to be one of the lunch combos. I chose fried rice and nime chow for my lunch options and settled back to wait for my feast. They bring you a complementary pot of hot tea, which I enjoyed. I believe it was a straightforward unsweetened black tea. Perfect for me. Before long the rangoons arrived. I literally said "wow" when the runner set my plate down. Beautiful golden brown, small bubbles visible all over the outside, promising crispy goodness. And it delivered. What I didn't expect what the slight chewiness to the wrapper that enhanced the experience. The filling was super creamy and delicious, but I prefer my rangoons with scallions as well. However, that didn't stop me from enjoying every bite. Then my lunch came. The beef was perfectly cooked, the dressing tangy and peppery. The nime chow was herby and super fresh as it should be. And the rice had this extra depth of flavor that made me think of tomato paste? A lovely addition the dish. I had a great meal here and the rangoons are definitely worth having! I'm looking forward to coming back and trying more of their menu!!

When we arrived, I gave my name and the hostess asked if there were still 4 of us. I said yes...I also said, when my friends arrive, please show them to our table. We got seated and after 20 minutes of waiting for our friends, we finally got a call from our friends, who had been waiting at another table in another part of the restaurant. So the coordination at the hostess stand was unacceptable. Service - Kevin was our server and he was excellent. Polite, professional, knowledgeable and attentive. A great experience. Food - Everything we had was very good from the dim sum dishes to the Lo Mein, green beans, Chinese broccoli and sushi. I had asked for some of the dishes to be made with no salt added and that was perfect for me and my husband as the dishes came out not salty at all. Overall a good dinner with friends.
