I went there for the first time today on my way back to Lansing because 2 of my coworkers said the food was really good so I decided to try it. I ordered the Sesame Chicken Combination Dinner with pork fried rice and an egg-roll and it was not good at all! The chicken was overcooked, the sauce was very bland, the egg roll was soggy and the fried rice tasted like rice-a-roni from a box! My husband loves Chinese food so it was nice to find somewhere close by. Since we moved we had to find a new place to go. The food is pretty good. It definitely seems a lot fresher than a lot of places we have tried over the years. We usually order Chicken Chop Suey or Chow Mein. The veggies are crunchy, they do not use MSG and nothing is overly salty, yet it's not bland either. They used to have indoor seating. Since the pandemic it is strictly carryout now. It is very small inside the area to get your food. When someone is in there you wait outside until they come out before going in. Service is pretty quick and friendly especially during the week. On the weekends we sometimes have problems with them answering the phone. They recommended you going up there if that happens. read more

I think we tried their food a few years ago when we first moved to Fowlerville, but didn't have a good impression - but maybe since then things improved because we LOVED everything we ordered. Based on other Yelp reviews, we ordered the Singapore Chow Mei Fun, which was Chow Mei YUM. It wasn't too spicy - probably mild spice, and was flavorful, and full of large shrimp, chicken and pork. We also got soup; I got the Hot and Sour, she got the Egg Drop. I am a Hot and Sour Soup fanboy... this is THE BEST Hot and Sour Soup I've ever had. They even put chicken in it, which was a pleasant surprise. Lastly, we also got an order of crab rangoon with out food. It was outstanding. The aroma of the crab rangoon filled my car on the ride home and I wanted to eat it all before I got home, lol. Anyway, aside from the food, the take-out service was also great; we ordered online which was a snap and the food was ready within 15 minutes. First experience ordering carryout was a good one. We ordered egg rolls, spring rolls, chicken fried rice, sesame chicken, sweet & sour chicken & Mongolian beef. The order was ready shortly after we arrived, it was correct, & it was hot. The Mongolian beef was excellent - tender slices of beef, lots of onions & a spicy sauce. Fantastic food- General's Chicken is amazing, sweet, hot and a little crunch. Sweet and sour chicken great, too. Shrimp lo mein, egg rolls - everything we have tried has been well prepared each time! We aren't talking about super high-class Chinese food here. This isn't a high-end restaurant and it doesn't pretend to be. It is a mom and pop Chinese restaurant. Their kids are usually taking orders and running the cash register. I have NEVER eaten inside here. I think their main source of income is through carry-out. The place is small and looks a little run-down on the inside and a majority of the dining room is dedicated to the carryout in front. I have had several things here and I have been regularly impressed with the portion sizes and how good everything is. Their egg rolls are delicious and I love their wonton soup. It is not outrageously salty as some other places are. My favorite thing to order from here is either their General Tsao Chicken or the Singapore Chow Mei Fun. I have also gotten their Almond Chicken, the Pepper Steak w/ Onion, Orange Chicken, Dumplings, Crab Rangoons, Fried Rice, Sesame Chicken and Sweet and Sour Chicken. I have enjoyed them all. The offer lunch specials for $5.15 and Dinner Combos for $7.15. If you get an order (usually around $7 to $9, $10 for seafood), it is more than enough for two people. I'm a big guy and I can't eat an order in one sitting. They usually have the food ready for you in 10 to 15 minutes. I love this place because the food is good, service is fast (at least for carry-out), portions are big, and the people who run it are wonderful. Don't miss it! Had to go to Fowlerville for some reason, and yelped Chinese restaurants. This one came up with a decent rating. I'm a Chinese connoisseur, and hate those cheapo joints that serve garbage. This place was great. I got the Gen tso chicken, and was happy to see it was made with dark meat. The lunch portion was great. My buddy ordered the almond chicken. I sampled it too. The gravy was a bit different than most gravies, but it was good. Again generous lunch portion. The total for the 2 lunch meals was under $11. No egg roll, but maybe that comes with the dinner. We go all the time and have never had a bad experience moved here last year and this is the best we have been too it's not high class but that's what makes it special! Love helping local businesses and this was in great! I like China Gourmet. The people all always really good to me. One time, they even let me use their fax machine so I can fax a paper to get a job. I use some of the money that I get from the job to buy food from China Gourmet. I like to get General chicken, and sometimes I like to get Cashew chicken, and sometimes I like to get Orange Chicken. My wife only ever eats Almond chicken. The man always greets me by my name. I like to get Crab Rangoon. I recently started getting Wonton soup. I like China Gourmet. read more

We have tried eating here a few times, since it's one of the only places to eat in Fowlerville. Their food is decent, but after our last trip there, we will never be returning. My husband ordered food to-go, and while he was waiting, the staff were speaking Chinese and laughing at him. We ordered sweet and sour chicken, but after we got home (20 min drive), we realized they never gave us the sauce. So my husband had to drive all the way back (40 min drive round-trip), just to get the sauce since who wants to eat just plain chicken.
