Service was quick, not too many people, I'm one not to complain, my shrimp didn't taste like shrimp, in fact, it was more bread than shrimp, the hot tea tasted just like it looked in a small rusty container, the shrimp and lobster sauce didn't have much of a flavor, we were served quickly. The waitress must have had a long bad day, she took our order, brought our food and then left us the check.

Carry out: Hunan Chicken's (large thin pieces) veggies included lots of broccoli, also fresh mushrooms, water chestnuts, carrots, baby corn, bamboo. It was medium spicy (forgot to tell them how I wanted it). Pepper steak was plentiful and tender. The spring rolls were extremely greasy but crunchy and larger than expected. The vegetable fried rice was the best I've ever had - contained broccoli.

Suppose to be shrimp egg roll it's got something mushy in it I see no shrimps and the put carrots in it

I use to go to this place years ago and the food was never like what I got today! I did Ubereats the food was brought to me right away. Then didn't get the order right and what ended up with was so salty I can not eat it plus they filled my food up with peas and carrots. They sent me what they wanted me to have I'm guessing that's I got chicken fried rice I never seen the chicken cut like that. They send pork egg fu yung but the pork was on the side with a bunch of peas and carrots and the gravy is white and it was salty never never have I had it like that. I ordered wonton soup just horrible noodles way too thick broth too salty I can't eat that! The shrimp egg rolls I never seen anything like the whole inside is gill with something mushy then I see carrots who does that! The plum they watered it down so much it taste like nothing. I complained to Ubereats because I spend a lot to get this food they had me send them pictures they immediately refunded me minus the tip my Ubereats driver was excellent no complaints. I see all the good reviews and thinking people gotta get out the area more and get some better Chinese food and see the difference. I definitely will not order from there ever again! To each it's own I guess

Was scared that ownership changed however, the food was very similar to what it was previously. Good quality and extremely flavorful. It's an hour drive but worth the trip. Shin and his brother were very good friends with my brother Rod. We have been eating their food for over 30 years and have blown us away with great Chinese food that set the bar. Thank you Shin!

The food was pretty mid. It's edible but not flavorful. Good enough but not enough to establish us as regulars. The pork chow mein was gelatinous with all the starch. So bland. Even with soy sauce and chili sauce, it wasn't very enticing.

I've always seen this place in passing and always wanting to go but was never in the area. So I was finally able to and was not disappointed. They have so many different options to choose from...ie..there are 6 different soups, it was hard for me to choose. I'm on a food journey and trying to find fast food that is good for me and my system, and this is my new place. I can't wait to try the rest of the soups. But what about the food, you ask. I haven't forgotten, this too is extensive. Nothing like I had imagined, You tend to know EXACTLY what you want when you order from the shop down the street in the neighborhood, but luckily this place has so much to choose from that it will take you a while to eat everything on the menu...I CANT WAIT!! I also noticed that there are options for keto, adkins, and diabetic. NO THEY ARE NOT LISTED AS SUCH, but people who have these diets have choices. The real thing that I liked was that you can order on line and they give the option of leaving a message such as.. no sauce, or extra peanuts , or WHATEVER you want! The other plus to ordering on line is that they give the exact time your order will be ready and the option of adding the tip. Well YOU MADE IT THROUGH!! (my long windedness! ) Enjoy, and keep Yelping my friends

Good service but disappointing food. It also wasn't very warm. Hopefully this really will help them do better.

Surprisingly delicious! We had both pepper steak and General Tso chicken and one of the best Chinese dishes we had in years.

This is a great little Chinese restaurant…read more This is the kind of restaurant that you go to on a night where you're tired. You're not in the mood an/or you just don't have the energy to cook for yourself, so you go in search of an old friend. That friend is named China Gate. This restaurant has all of the Chinese take-out classics that you're used to seeing, but does them very very well. I tend to order the wonton soup and egg roll most often for a light dinner, but I've also really enjoyed their beef/chicken and broccoli. A lot of times, Chinese take out restaurants feel like they're phoning it in. Not China Gate. The food tastes nice and fresh, and it doesn't feel super heavy like you've made a terrible mistake eating it. Instead it tastes pretty darn fresh and made with quality ingredients. It's a great neighborhood Chinese restaurant, and I hope it sticks around for a long time to come.

The first thing I noticed was the portion size was noticeably smaller than it ever has been, almost by half. The flavor was decent, but not any better than the average Chinese takeout. The egg rolls were actually some of the worst I've had anywhere - the filling was like pureed mush, as if it was put through a food processor. I can't say for certain if this decline started after the original owners sold it and retired or not. With so many other options in the area for Chinese food, China Gate is no longer at the top.
