This buffet isn't bad but its not great. The food is fine but there are things that need to be improved because they've probably been sitting out too long. Some of the rice is like really sticky or stuck together which make it so its not easy to eat. Then there are other food items or dishes that are gummy again from sitting out all day. There are also dishes that need more flavor because they're missing something. Service is fine but nothing special as is the ambiance. Gross! The bathroom was worse than anything I've ever experienced. It's comparable to a NYC subway station bathroom. If you eat here I suggest using the bathroom next door at ShopRite. The food was ok. I tried a bunch of things. The staff was friendly enough for this type of environment. I wish I would have seen the restroom before dining here. Went here for my mom's birthday because she likes sushi, and it was close to my place of work, and let's just say the food was...less than satisfactory. Most of the food was cold, suspiciously stale, or both, and the sushi selection was very minimal compared to other places. When the sushi is bad in a buffet, i can always count on pizza, but even that tasted like it was frozen and reheated in a microwave. The only thing worth it in here is the soft serve machine, and even then it was meh. The service was nice, at least we could count on that, but the place seemed dead, like there were at most 6 tables filled in the entire restaurant. It's been a while since I've eaten out with family and in the middle of nowhere, no less. The only options around here seem to be fast food and more fast food. That said, the food was pretty good, the service was quick, and the kitchen rapidly churned out dishes. I don't recommend the Sprite though--it tasted like watered-down seltzer. read more

I ate there on 7/6/24 and now have food poisoning. The food temperature seemed questionable and the place is extremely filthy. The bathrooms are disgusting and I have seen cleaner port a potty's. The reviews that say this place is horrible, are wrong. There are pros and cons to China Grill Buffet and I am about to detail them for you: The service is good. The waitresses are attentive and help bring a positive atmosphere to your table and the restaurant. No complaints in this department. The food is overall: good. I won't stretch and tell you it's phenomenal, but I will also not fall into the lies and tell you it's inedible. If you are paying $15 for a buffet, I am unsure as to why some of these reviewers are expecting top of the line sushi, crab legs, etc. I would stay away from the sushi bar, but everything else is pretty good. I was thoroughly looking for a go to Chinese buffet for my family and I. I frequent this area often and decided to give it a try Halloween night. There was a decent amount of people eating. We were seated right away. Our waitress was very nice and filled drinks often but didn't rush us, which was a nice surprise. Sadly that was basically the only plus of this visit. The sushi was old and hard and was covered with Saran Wrap. The "hibachi" area was a ghost town, looked like it hasn't been fired up in a while. Of course the crab legs sat empty the entire time we were there (about an hour). Every time I would try to ask staff refilling food they'd walk away quickly and go back into the kitchen. Lo mein was borderline inedible, chicken and broccoli had a very strange aftertaste, meats look very questionable and old. The french fries were like rocks. I have honestly never been to a Chinese buffet and loved it so much that it lures me back. This buffet is average, but on the better side. I came here for lunch with a coworker because we were in the area for a training. At 12:30pm on a Friday, it was relatively busy which is a good sign for a restaurant. The buffets in my area are not too busy unless it is the weekend. They had a decent amount of food choices --a lot of chicken dishes. Just like most buffets, everything is luke warm bec it is sitting out. The chicken and broccoli was good. I enjoyed the roasted chicken. Some dishes were a bit salty. My favorite part was the ice cream bec buffets usually don't have as many choices! The hard ice cream is located on the right side of the salad bar. They had cookies and cream, peanut butter ripple, sorbet, mint chocolate chip, butter pecan, moose track, vanilla, etc. Cost $17.05 for two adults at lunch. read more

This place attracts senior citizens who might be tight on their budgets, and want to satiate themselves to the fullest. That's the immediate impression I got upon entering. Having frequented many Asian buffet's/restaurants, I did not eat anything exciting here. You go from steam table to steam table hoping to find something that excites the palate. They did offer fillet mignon only to be served in an oily mixture of mushrooms carrots and onions. Not to my liking. The chicken was so so, the pork was drenched in a heavy syrup-like sauce that masked its taste. The duck was bony, yet the seafood: shrimp, salmon, clams and crab were just ok. We were in a party of eight and I believe the best thing on the menu was the fresh pineapple and their Chinese tea. They did have a wide variety of desserts. China Grill Buffet in the Marketplace @ Hamilton just off Rt. 130 Northbound, is a representative sample of the steam table alternative to the quick Chinese meal, where the quantity/quality scale is inverted. The more you see and eat, the lower the quality seems to become. That is not to say that this approach to face stuffing does not have its merits and admirers. If my lunch there this week was any indication, they are doing quite well in the competition of the Take Out Wars. For $8, you can eat all you want (or can stand), and finish with decent American ice cream and another plate of cut fruit. Definitely enough for at least one day of nourishment. Perhaps, that explains the over abundance of senior citizens here. It certainly is one way to stretch a buck when on a tight budget. There are three steam tables here; half with Chinese style food, and the rest with a cross section of American staples, like pizza and fried chicken; followed by dessert-type sweets, and fruit, and finally an ice cream cart with many flavors of churned cream. My sampling of the dozen or so chicken offerings suggests that they were all breaded and fried as one, and then separated with various glumpy sauces poured over each. There was a sameness to them, but all were at least decent, if not original. The ubiquitous broccoli and string beans were there, as well as plenty of rice and a few soups. Even egg foo young made an appearance, although the brown sauce was AWOL. All in all, good enough Chinese buffet. You've got to pick and choose what you eat. For the price, you actually get crab legs, crawfish, shrimp, different meats, and the choice is nice enough that you'll find something you like. On weekends, they have the chocolate fountain, and that is worth anything really. I've been going there for the past 7 years and I don't plan on stopping. I use to come here a while back a few years ago but stopped once Flaming Grill opened up on WhiteHorse Ave which I truly love. I just so happen to be in the area and wanted some Grub for lunch. Their lunch price $7.99 does not include a drink. A total of $10.35 pretty good not bad for lunch. The staff is very rude and unprofessional. Yo Yelpers! I have to disagree with most of you on this one. I don't find nothing that I didn't like about this place. Keep in mind that this is a Chinese Buffet, nit a high class restaurant. With that in mind, when giving this review, I'm comparing them with the other Chinese Buffets. I came in here at lunch time and the place were always busy. The place is clean, service is ok. Yes, most of the staff doesn't speak English fluently. But it's a buffet! You get your own food! That said, I think a smile and a "thank you", which they do, would be sufficient for this type of service. The food are delicious and tasty. Actually, I'd like to point to the fact that they deveined their shrimps! And I have picture to proof it! The shrimps are deveined and cleaned! One of my favorite Chinese restaurants in the area. Nice variety of food to select from depending on your mood. Food is very tasty as well. Also accommodates large group as well. Dinner does get quite packed sometimes, especially on holidays. The crab legs comes out in waves so at times it's hard to get them. There are good and bad things about this visit. The good: -They have sushi of some kind. The nigiri wasn't good but their rolls were pretty good -You can get takeout from the buffet (not if you're eating in) -The chicken on a stick was really delicious -Watching people stand by the crab legs and complain how there are never any crab legs available. That entertains me. The bad: -The sushi rolls didn't have any raw fish. They were made of seaweed salad, imitation crab, imitation crab salad, or shrimp tempura. Probably cheaper to cut costs -The nigiri was like eating a paper thin piece of raw fish with a dense hockey puck under it -The salt&pepper squid was oily, was not crisply fried but was mushy, and the squid was cooked to death. It was like eating plastic, not even like eating rubber. That's how overcooked it was. It was also incredibly salty. -The dumplings were doused in oil and also had oil on the inside with the meat -The crab rangoons only tasted like cream cheese, no crab flavor. Takeaways: Next time I will skip the kitchen food and will go straight for the fish-less sushi rolls. Because they were actually pretty good. I will fill my box with chicken sticks and rolls. What happened to this place? I came back after a year and it was horrible. Sweet and sour chicken under cook, had two mussels and 1 was bad, like I hope I don't get food poisoning. I asked for 5 sodas and the Sprite tasted like Seltzer, I said fine, they ran out of syrup, my daughter gets coke, barely any flavor, then one lady comes back and says we got sprite now, and it tasted like sewer water I guess they are not cleaning the nozzles or something really bad in the machine, maybe a moldy hose, I don't know. This place has gone down hill over the years. When I discovered the township dept of health faiked them so many times I decided I will not be going back. I had stomach issues everytime I went. The grille, which used to be open and very good is no longer open. The grille was one of the main reasons we went to this restaurant called China "Grille" Buffet. Staff was rude and especially the older.guy behind the counter. The food in general was not great and many of the trays were Luke warm. If you asked for a tray to be filled, they would give you a funny look and at times would just disappear into the kitchen. The sushi I believe was a couple of days old. The crab leg tray was always empty, and if you stood there at the tray for 10- 15 minutes, they would bring out enough for barely two people. The mussels were the worst I have ever tasted and the sauce was very bad and tasteless. The pepper steak chewed like rubber. My husband will no longer go to the desserts area because of the.flies surrounding the table last summer. This place was our choice for 2 years and we were there every Sunday. Now, not only have. They raised their prices, but everything has gotten worse. I also might add that we saw articles in the newspaper indicating they failed numerous health inspections in the past. This buffet has really gone downhill. Been going there when in the area and it was always pretty good. But now....90% of the hot meat items on buffet are fried chicken scraps swimming in one type of sauce or another. They open at 11 am, I went in at 11:45 and most if not all the food on the steam table were COLD, like they were a leftover from another time and placed into the steam table to warm up. First of all, I do not Yelp a lot but this one deserves my attention. Starting with the food selection there are so little amounts to choose from. The food here is clearly not fresh at all!!!!!! With most of the dishes being luke warm to cold I could see why the other one stars say they would have a stomach ache. The sushi is covered in plastic wrap clearly either made in the morning or from the day before. Worst part is the food but the services is also terrible. With being only limited to one crab cracker thingie they also took our plates with our silverware , only to replace it when we looked her at.
