It's been a while since I've eaten out with family and in the middle of nowhere, no less. The only options around here seem to be fast food and more fast food. That said, the food was pretty good, the service was quick, and the kitchen rapidly churned out dishes. I don't recommend the Sprite though--it tasted like watered-down seltzer.

I was thoroughly looking for a go to Chinese buffet for my family and I. I frequent this area often and decided to give it a try Halloween night. There was a decent amount of people eating. We were seated right away. Our waitress was very nice and filled drinks often but didn't rush us, which was a nice surprise. Sadly that was basically the only plus of this visit. The sushi was old and hard and was covered with Saran Wrap. The "hibachi" area was a ghost town, looked like it hasn't been fired up in a while. Of course the crab legs sat empty the entire time we were there (about an hour). Every time I would try to ask staff refilling food they'd walk away quickly and go back into the kitchen. Lo mein was borderline inedible, chicken and broccoli had a very strange aftertaste, meats look very questionable and old. The french fries were like rocks. The old man in the front ringing everyone out was super rude and unpleasant. Unfortunately it took us $68 to learn the hard way how terrible this place really is.

I have honestly never been to a Chinese buffet and loved it so much that it lures me back. This buffet is average, but on the better side. I came here for lunch with a coworker because we were in the area for a training. At 12:30pm on a Friday, it was relatively busy which is a good sign for a restaurant. The buffets in my area are not too busy unless it is the weekend. They had a decent amount of food choices --a lot of chicken dishes. Just like most buffets, everything is luke warm bec it is sitting out. The chicken and broccoli was good. I enjoyed the roasted chicken. Some dishes were a bit salty. My favorite part was the ice cream bec buffets usually don't have as many choices! The hard ice cream is located on the right side of the salad bar. They had cookies and cream, peanut butter ripple, sorbet, mint chocolate chip, butter pecan, moose track, vanilla, etc. Cost $17.05 for two adults at lunch.

This place attracts senior citizens who might be tight on their budgets, and want to satiate themselves to the fullest. That's the immediate impression I got upon entering. Having frequented many Asian buffet's/restaurants, I did not eat anything exciting here. You go from steam table to steam table hoping to find something that excites the palate. They did offer fillet mignon only to be served in an oily mixture of mushrooms carrots and onions. Not to my liking. The chicken was so so, the pork was drenched in a heavy syrup-like sauce that masked its taste. The duck was bony, yet the seafood: shrimp, salmon, clams and crab were just ok. We were in a party of eight and I believe the best thing on the menu was the fresh pineapple and their Chinese tea. They did have a wide variety of desserts. One can pack in a lot of food for the price but quality is definitely sacrificed here. The staff, though lacking English, was friendly.

DO NOT GO HERE!! Food was horrible very disappointed. Noodles were dry, wonton was doughy and inedible. Sprite was just seltzer. We told the waitress we didn't like the food and she just gave us a $40 check. We went up to the desk and told the man we didn't like the food and he told us we still had to pay full price because we took 2 plates. But we continued to tell him we each took 2 bites and we're grossed out. He was very rude to us, and finally said we could just pay 1/2. We said we weren't gonna pay 1/2 because we barely touched the plates. We just left a few dollars and walked out. Horrible food and horrible service. The place looked depressing and we expected it to be bad as soon as we saw the food but was hoping for the best.

China Grill Buffet in the Marketplace @ Hamilton just off Rt. 130 Northbound, is a representative sample of the steam table alternative to the quick Chinese meal, where the quantity/quality scale is inverted. The more you see and eat, the lower the quality seems to become. That is not to say that this approach to face stuffing does not have its merits and admirers. If my lunch there this week was any indication, they are doing quite well in the competition of the Take Out Wars. For $8, you can eat all you want (or can stand), and finish with decent American ice cream and another plate of cut fruit. Definitely enough for at least one day of nourishment. Perhaps, that explains the over abundance of senior citizens here. It certainly is one way to stretch a buck when on a tight budget. There are three steam tables here; half with Chinese style food, and the rest with a cross section of American staples, like pizza and fried chicken; followed by dessert-type sweets, and fruit, and finally an ice cream cart with many flavors of churned cream. My sampling of the dozen or so chicken offerings suggests that they were all breaded and fried as one, and then separated with various glumpy sauces poured over each. There was a sameness to them, but all were at least decent, if not original. The ubiquitous broccoli and string beans were there, as well as plenty of rice and a few soups. Even egg foo young made an appearance, although the brown sauce was AWOL. All in all, good enough Chinese buffet. We know what to expect from such houses, and China Grill certainly makes the cut.

Yo Yelpers! I have to disagree with most of you on this one. I don't find nothing that I didn't like about this place. Keep in mind that this is a Chinese Buffet, nit a high class restaurant. With that in mind, when giving this review, I'm comparing them with the other Chinese Buffets. I came in here at lunch time and the place were always busy. The place is clean, service is ok. Yes, most of the staff doesn't speak English fluently. But it's a buffet! You get your own food! That said, I think a smile and a "thank you", which they do, would be sufficient for this type of service. The food are delicious and tasty. Actually, I'd like to point to the fact that they deveined their shrimps! And I have picture to proof it! The shrimps are deveined and cleaned! That Yelpers, is enough to impress me Now let's eat!!!

I loved every second of my meal here. But as soon as I walked out the door, I knew that I had made a gastrointestinal mistake.

Good food, good service, food is kept warm, and stations are neat and clean constantly. For buffet food it wasn't good, would return.

For this year's Chinese New Year, I decided to take the family there for our New Year dinner, and the food was just as good as I remembered. The place hasn't changed a bit, the decor still looks exactly how I remember it, which brought back memories. Since some of my family and friends don't enjoy the same spice level as I do, we adjusted the heat for dinner, and everything still came out fantastic. We ordered the whole steamed fish, happy fish, green beans, tea smoked duck, pork chop, beef pan fried noodles, and more. Every dish was delicious, and the flavors were spot on. The service was a bit tentative at times, but the quality of the food definitely made up for it. Overall, it was a wonderful meal and a great way to celebrate. I definitely need to come back more often.

It seems that both the pepper steak and chicken with broccoli were in the same sauce (& I've actually found that to be common in this area for some reason) but were tasty overall. The egg roll was quite greasy and the wonton soup was pretty solid with the broth being the star. Oh the white rice was cooked how I expect and wish all Chinese white rice is cooked so that's a plus. Overall a true 3.5 star rating but since halves aren't possible I had to go to 3 because it certainly wasn't a 4.

When it comes to food, I never judge a burger by its bun, so thanks to Yelp for helping me find it. The sign in the window says "Asian fusion" which usually sends me running as it's often a cop-out label for bad mixed-up Asian cooking, but this is authentic y'all, meaning true-to-tradition dishes with a sometimes more contemporary application of ingredients or flavors. The "fusion" part must come from the fact that they have a small Taiwanese section as well as the main Szechuan/Sichuan menu, alongside a few familiar Chinese-American favorites like sesame chicken or broccoli x protein, so you can get that here too. Everything we ordered was phenomenal! Great flavors, generous portions, cooked with confidence and finesse. Compliments to the kitchen - they really know what they're doing. Not a single dish was lacking. They even put out peanuts at the start and serve fresh orange slices at the end of the meal. Very old school. We loved it all: * Salt & white pepper crispy chicken ("Taiwanese specialty") - well-battered and flavored, and perfectly crispy * Taiwanese minced pork rice * Chicken red curry - fabulous, with fresh vegetables and just the right balance of spice * Golden dish (fish) - very special dish in a salted duck egg yolk batter * Beef chow fun * Marinated crispy duck Wish I lived closer, but will definitely come back when we are in the area. Best of the best - very highly recommended!
