    24. Steamed Chinese Dumpling
    Melinda S.

We were looking for a new takeout place to try while over at a friend's house. After perusing reviews, we decided to try China Grill. We ordered via Uber Eats. The food arrived quickly. Most Chinese takeout places give large portions, and China Grill is no exception! The meals are easily shareable. I tried wonton soup, steamed dumplings, and beef with broccoli sauce which came with fried rice with the combo. The soup was okay, pretty standard. The dumplings were really good. The beef with garlic sauce was very tasty. There was a generous amount of crisp veggies like broccoli, baby corn, snow peas, and water chestnuts. The beef itself was plentiful and tender. The sauce had a nice, mild kick to it. The rice was also pretty good. It was a little different than fried rice at other spots, but still yummy. While this isn't my favorite Chinese spot overall, it's a solid option for good takeout.

Nighttime view from parking lot. It's located on the same side as the car wash on Hiawassee & Raleigh St in MetroWest

Ok so with all the news lately about restaurants taking shortcuts, I'm now in the habit of looking up the inspector reports before eating out. GREAT news, China Grill has a spotless record. The last report was on 5/6/18 and no violations were found. Now I can eat in peace. It's a busy Friday night (8:30pm) when I called and was told it'd be about an hour before they can deliver. Good to know so I'm not sitting around frustrated wondering when my food will arrive. I opted to pick up my order instead. 15-20 minutes, not bad at all! The lady answered my questions quite nicely over the phone, she sounded a little rushed & I can tell she was multitasking which is fine. It's good to know they're busy! I ordered Shrimp fried rice with 10 extra shrimp for $2 extra charge, egg roll, and steamed pork dumplings. Everything was tasty and piping hot. I will be back and encourage you to support this local business.

    First time trying this...

Tried this place for the second time since it is the closest Chinese spot near our apartment. Obviously we liked it if we had it a second time & ended up getting the same thing second time around. This time around it was a late lunch but it was nice because their lunch last till 3 so we got lunch prices with the same amount of food as we did our first visit for dinner. We did takeout both times because it is literally like a 5 min drive up the street. My boyfriend loves shrimp so he knew exactly what he was getting, the shrimp with garlic sauce. I on the other hand usually go with chicken & broccoli or beef & broccoli but after I saw pics on Yelp(yes I look at the pictures)lol I decided to go with the beef in garlic sauce, and the veggies that came with it had broccoli my favorite plus the little corns & waterchesnuts which I love but never get. Our meals always come with an egg roll which I really enjoyed when we got it for lunch so I'm not sure if I was just really hungry or they were fresh because I don't remember it being that good the first time. Lastly we got crab ragoons because those are a must whenever we get Chinese & they were great both times, could use a little more filling. The first time we ordered late at night because it is open late like 11 on the weekends at least. So we weren't sure the first time around & thought it was a little pricy. Yet when we got the 2 lunch combos & our crab ragoons of course it was like $17 which really isn't bad plus you always have leftovers because they make sure your box is full. I do recommend go for a lunch combo that is from 11-3 since it's cheaper then you have your leftovers for dinner. As long as we live in the area I'm sure we will be back many more times but most likely stick to our regular order.lol

Needed a quick bite to eat and didn't feel like cooking. Decided on Chinese take out. I usually prefer authentic Chinese but this was close by. We walked in to place our orders. I went with the beef with garlic sauce combo that included soup and pork fried rice. I asked to have white rice instead. I choose a hot and sour soup. My bf ordered the chicken mei fun. My beef was super tender. The food was decent. I feel like Chinese take out is literally cooked the same at every Chinese take out restaurant. Would still prefer authentic over this. This was just cheating on good food night.

    Four season cheese

First time come to this place, ordered the orange chicken, it come with rice as well, the food came out very soon, I like it.sweet and sour, very good with rice, I almost finish all of that. And also ordered the four season cheese ( tea)?.50% sugar. Come out really good. Not really sweet at all. Good for the hot hot day. The service over here is pretty good too. And the environment is pretty nice and clean. Great place to dine in.

    Fried rice?

Highly disappointed! Food iwaa awful.... The fried rice is COLORED yellow. The rice is hard, no flavor. I would hope their seafood would be better. If you're in the metro west area go to Kome instead.

Last night I found a food truck downtown, Arepaso de Orlando…read more They are open Wednesdays through Saturday nights at Washington and court basically across from Gringos Locos. They have only 3 items: Venezuelan Arepas Ham and grilled cheese sandwiches($7) Colombian hamburgers The Arepas($5) are filled with either shredded beef and cheese or chicken and cheese. The photo on their menu shows crappy American cheese but that isn't what they put on it, they use a white shredded type cheese. The Arepas themselves are white but not really sweet and they cut it in half to open it up like you would a pita and stuff the ingredients inside. They have 3 sauces in squeeze bottles you can put on as much as you like. Garlic sauce, Tartara and a Spicy one. I asked him a few times what peppers were in the spicy one but he just kept saying chili. All of the sauces had a similar white consistency but my fav was the garlic. The spicy one was good too but it wasn't very spicy just a little. I didn't get to try the other 2 items but the Colombian guy working there said they were really good. They also sell soda and water, go try em out after you have danced your booty silly and are wasted out of your mind, then they will taste like heaven in your hand. He said they usually stay open until about 3:30 AM #OrlandoFoodTrucks

It seemed to be pretty popular tonight - I saw a number of people ordering from it and I overheard some people talking about how good its food was tonight. Thankfully, this truck is relatively close to where I live (according to Chris R.'s review, it's downtown), so maybe I'll catch it sometime. I did buy a soda here this evening and the employee I talked to for a moment was friendly. The food looked and smelled delicious!

For food, we got the Bulla burger and Iberian pork bowl. They were plated beautifully and both tasted fresh and flavorful. My only comment is that I wish the pork had some sauce on it, that would've taken the flavor profile to the next level! Service was great, Christoph was our server and he was attentive and offered recommendations. Will definitely be back to try their tapas next time!

Luckily, it looked like the brunch crowd was thinning out so we were able to get a table without a reservation. Bulla serves tapas style meaning you should probably get at least two items if you are not sharing with the table. Looking at the menu, my husband and I both realized that if you are going to get three items each, it really was the best value to get the Brunch Prix Fixe for $32 although it did seem like a lot of food. In hindsight, we probably should have shared one Brunch Prix Fixe and then got one or two other items as I ended up taking food home. There is also a Bottomless Sangrias and Mimosas for $23 but we aren't big drinkers. I did get a hot tea though. For the first course, I ordered the Potato Tortilla and my husband ordered the Sopa de Garbanzo Frita. As soon as they arrived, I realized it was going to be too much food because each one was huge. My potatoes were very thinly sliced and soft and delicious, especially with a swipe of the garlic aioli. My husband liked his chickpea soup but did say it was a little spicy. It also comes with a poached egg in the soup. That was another thing - most of the Prix Fixe items, especially the second course, come with either fried or poached egg and I only eat scrambled which made it hard to choose the next course. I got the Chicken and Waffles which came with three thin breaded chicken fillets sandwiched between super fluffy waffle quarters, served with a rosemary maple syrup. It was all so good, that you could eat the chicken and the waffles without the syrup if you wanted but I used the syrup for the herby flavor. I took home two of the waffle quarters and one piece of chicken for a waffle sandwich at home. My husband's braised pork hash was also really good, and came with another poached egg. For the final sweets course, we both ordered the Hazelnut Waffles (yes, yes, I know, I ordered two waffle dishes in a row). These were so yummy, just slathered with Nutella, whipped white chocolate cream, and chocolate chips. All in all, a great brunch!

They have bench seats and independent chairs. They do not have outdoor tables. About the service... long wait all around. I ordered a Coke Zero, they brought a can with a straw- I would say very reminiscent of what you would get in a kiosk in Puerto Rico, but other tables got a cup and ice. Maybe it's upon request? My husband ordered Perrier, or soda water, but they don't have any. It could be that they only serve canned drinks, not from a machine. So he got water, refills come very rarely. So far trickling slow. Every time I decide to do a "realtime review", something happens that it makes the service very slow. They play Latin music in the background. Food's here. Hubby ordered the pinchos with tostones one thing he noticed right away is that the pinchos aren't grilled. I ordered a pork pincho with mofongo and I have to agree, these are deep fried (carne frita). The tostones were good, he said. My pincho is very fatty and the flavor is ok, not seasoned as I would expect. The mofongo is on point, with crispy bits of pork rinds. The bill reflects a 4% increase if you use a credit card, regardless of your party size. I might come back and try some other items, though. Better luck next time.
