Dragon City is the place we go to when we crave good Chinese food. Everything we ordered today was fantastic. They were a little busy with big tables. So it took a while for the server to come to our table and take our drink and food orders. But once they did, the food came out nonstop and we were thoroughly able to enjoy everything. One of my favorite things to get all times is the steamed oysters with ginger and scallions. The lobster with ginger and scallions is good too. If you like clams try the clams in black bean sauce. They have plenty of indoor seating spaces. They are located in a plaza that offers plenty of parking spaces. The tanks are brown so that's pretty off-putting, but maybe that's the type of water they need to be in. Chicken was ok but appeared a touch undercooked at the bone. Ribs were semi meaty but rubbery to the chew And under seasoned. Rice has a mildly burnt taste to it and no veggies at all in the house fried rice. Egg roll was also meh and under seasoned. There is clearly a gringo menu and tribesmen menu. I was hoping to find my new Chinese food spot but alas my hunt still continues. Service was the dry variety, typical to these types of restaurants. When my niece was here, she had a craving for roasted squab. We went to Ten Ten and they did not have it but one of the servers told us to check Dragon City. When we arrived and parked, we were a bit disillusioned with the outside look. The sign above the roof was faded and it had missing letters. The windows had a metallic tinted film that made it impossible to see the inside of the restaurant...so the curb appeal of the place was 1/10. Really. A hole-in-the wall. When we walked in, we were greeted nicely by a man and we got a nice table by the entrance.. We saw the tanks full of fish and crabs moving and swimming right by our table. The menu was really authentic...they had many of the dishes you could not find at other places like frog legs, squab, sea cucumber, quail, etc. We ordered two BBQ roasted squabs, a wonton soup with no noodles and a shrimp and scallop vegetable dish. All the food was outstanding....really good tasting, really well made. The big bowl of steamed rice was complementary. If you are looking for Authentic Chinese, give Dragon City a try. A friend brought me here because it's her favorite for authentic Chinese food. When we arrived I was skeptical because the area was so dark at night. When we walked in we were welcomed by friendly staff. Glad I didn't let the darkness deter me from walking in. Once we sat down they brought tea, rock sugar, and spicy sauce. Very average Chinese food in my opinion. I will say that I ordered from the Anericanized menu as opposed to the Authentic Chinese menu so I'm not sure if that made a difference or not. We started our meals with hot and sour soup which had a nice flavor but not the thickness it usually has, it was more if a thin broth. Next came our egg rolls which were good and nice and crispy but not the usual egg roll that I'm used to. My husband had the hunan chicken with fried rice and I had the beef with oyster sauce with white rice. To me the beef tasted like cheap quality beef and had lots of canned mushrooms which I just can't stomach. I tasted my husband's fried rice and it has a weird aftertaste. Service was fine until the waiter decided to step outside for a cigarette break and came back reeking of cigarette smoke. My favorite dishes are the snow pea tips which is a wash me down for any dish you eat. I never enjoyed vegetables this much but it has a nice crunch to it. Stopped by for a quick meal on our way home from the Marlins game and grabbed some salt and pepper (fresh) squid and some Yin Yan tofu. Delicious and satisfying. Dragon City is just down the street from the Hard Rock Casino, in a strip plaza. Once you walk in, you will see a line of fish tanks and then a large area full of tables; they also have a private room in the back. Regarding the service, the staff is very quick with seating and orders. Just like any traditional Chinese restaurant, they like to do things efficiently; the waiters may seem short/stoic, but they always get the job done. Their menu is expansive, but my family typically orders from their special menu. Occasionally, they have a really good duel lobster deal! We usually order the lobster, fried quail, and whatever fresh vegetable they have. Once they serve you, they give you a huge bowl of white rice, so you can eat family-style. I can not say the same for other places I have tried. I wouldn't say it is as good as NYC Chinatown but it is probably as close as I will get down here! There is one drawback, take out, was disappointing. We did order in during the pandemic and the food just didn't travel that well. we are about 15 minutes away and we found it just didn't make it home that well. Love this place. A small restaurant located in the vicinity of the new Guitar Hotel by Hard Rock in a crazy tight plaza. It serves authentic Chinese cuisine and specializes in its seafood. We sat literally right next to the fish tank in a big round table, but it was only two of us. So I felt far from my date. But knowing the food I was about to eat made it seem irrelevant. And truly I did forget about it. We started with the fish maw soup (which is a non traditional part of a fish, google at your own risk if you're not adventurous or optimistic). A hot soup that you add red vinegar which makes it a little acidic and sprinkle some white pepper to make it a little more spicy. It's a great hot soup and starter. Then we ordered the salt and pepper squid, which can be overly salted (hypertension caution) but pairs very well with the seafood flavor of the squid. We got it spicy. So yummy. It definitely fulfilled my salt craving and now I've had my salt maximum for the year - good thing it's November already.
