Been going to China Pavilion for years and it's my go spot for authentic Chinese food and dim sum that always hits the spot. You know it's authentic and good when it's always packed and you walk in seeing many 10 top round tables with the iconic lazy susans and a wall of fish tanks by the front entrance! We had a group of 12 for dim sum and we were accommodated fairly quickly. Dim sum was fresh and quickly served and reasonably priced. The baked roasted pork buns are a must but order early as they do tend to sell out and then you'll miss out! They also have an amazing menu with authentic Chinese dishes to choose from. On another visit I had their ginger scallion lobster and the mince pork with green beans, as it's an iconic staple dish to have when dining in. I cannot say enough great things about this experience! The waiting area was a bit intimidating with the amount of people there - but boy do they know how to move a crowd! Quick & efficient. The service was outstanding considering we were an extra large group some seasoned w/Dim Sum others not a clue... and others allergic to 75% of the menu. But overall the staff at China Pavilion did an outstanding job of navigating all of us. Food was also quite delicious - I was so pleasantly surprised with every item that was brought out to taste. We were a large group of about 15 people. China Pavillion was extremely busy during lunch time around 1:30 pm. We waited a bit for the entire group/party to arrive then staff seated us right away. First time trying Dim Sum. They have a hugh variety menu of authentic Cantonese dishes. Our server seemed friendly and we had someone from our group that spoke Cantonese great to see them interact. We ordered so much food and shared family style. All the dishes were delicious. I enjoyed the sticky rice, pork bao buns, baked BBQ pork buns, chicken feet, tripe, stuffed egg plant , Duck &Roast pork rice roll. I enjoyed each dish but wish the server had brought us water or offered water to everyone at the table. They served tea but not everyone drinks tea. The food came in fairly fast but took forever to get water. Besides that, service was good and food was fantastic. Will definitely be back. My first review of 2026! I made the drive up here with foodie friends from Miami to enjoy New Year's weekend dim sum. (Huge shoutout to A for setting up this yummy UYE!) the restaurant is located in office plaza right on Pines Boulevard and there's a good amount of parking. The inside is well lit, clean and can get cozy for a big group such as ours. The wait staff was super pleasant in helping us accommodate our large table, and keeping our bellies full. Some items had run out, and we did have to "help" in clearing some of the plates but all in all still very good. For those of us like me - my first dim sum experience - you typically order off of either a picture or written menu. Roughly translated to "light snacks", the server brings out baskets of the different buns and serve them family style in the center of the table. Besides dim sum, they also serve "full size" Chinese dishes such as the orange chicken I also enjoyed & shared, as well as fried rices. You may be wondering, Sergio why if you're allergic to seafood and shellfish did you go to a dim sum spot? Well, I'm still here to write the review. I can say that the preparation of the food was really clean. Some of the buns I enjoyed included their Baked Pork BBQ Bun, served in a sticky sweet roll, as well as their steamed chicken & vegetable buns. My first time having dim sum! This was a very authentic place. The food came out really fast and was so warm. We tried a bunch of different menus items. By favorites were the steamed chicken feet and the shrimp dumplings. They have sauce too that is at each table. The chili oil was not too spicy! I was actually surprised. If you're a fan of asian food, and who isn't, you need to try the best Chinese food in all of South Florida. A telling sign that this place is legit is all the asians having dim sum or dinner. They have Peruvian Chinese food but to me it's not good. Had some fried chicken that came with a type of gravy and everything was so bland. To save it we ordered some ginger, garlic oil and used that to dip the chicken in. Dim Sum here is hands down the absolute best in South Florida. You'll hear that Ten Ten is better because they have the rolling carts but food ins't as fresh as it is here when you order exactly what you want and then it's prepared fresh to order. My favorite dishes are the shaved bitter melon soup with tofu, steam pork ribs in black bean sauce, sea bass served on a sizzling plate and flounder served sauteed fish fillet and fried fish bones. Instead, try visiting on weekdays, especially before 4 PM when they're serving Dim Sum--it's absolutely worth it! The food is consistently fresh, flavorful, and authentic. My wife especially loved the Red Bean Bun and the Sponge Cake, saying they were better here than at other places she's tried. This place has become one of our favorite spots for Dim Sum in the area. They open ON TIME, not a minute before. I waited outside for it to open and was the first customer. The second customer came in literally a minute later. Flavors are good. This was above what I expected for Florida. The hot and sour soup portion was a lot smaller than what I am used to getting in New York for the same price, but it was delicious. Everything else we got was pretty good. For example, the spareribs were on the not as flavorful side than what I'm used to, but it was still good. The flat noodles were a little bit thick and so is the steam rice rolls. I think they need to use a thinner batter as the thicker rice soaks up all the sauce and makes everything more bland. The fried shrimp rolls were amazing and were full of shrimp, if there were fillers, I could not tell. So generally, everything is less salty lower in sugar in this restaurant. If anything I believe this place is healthier than what I'm used to. The place is old though. Price vs portion is on par with NY, if anything I felt like the dishes were actually more expensive here because of the smaller portion size. The guy not in uniform, probably owner or manager was literally the friendliest most hard-working guy. Uniform waitresses were standing around talking & this guy was hustling in and out of the kitchen, bringing dishes, ringing people up & asking if people needed anything. Would I come here again? Usually the orders will come out staggered because they serve them as they're finished & I like that because nothing sits around. The steamed shrimp dumplings, pork/shrimp siu mai & steamed ribs with black bean sauce are must haves! Get some BBQ pork buns while you're at it. It's better than anything else you'll eat in Broward County. I would have sworn that I already had done a review of this restaurant, but I can't seem to find it. Favorite items include shumai (shrimp and pork dumplings), steamed ribs, sticky rice, and ni wong bao (steamed custard buns), to name a few. Service is spotty. It can be friendly. It can be hurried and harried. But for the most part, it's okay. And the food surely overshadows it. There usually is a male manager on the dining room floor, who's very distinctive from the rest of the servers. In the menu, we notice 5 different items that rare from normal dim sum restaurants. The first one is the durian puff. This puff has crispy crust. Real durian inside. Taste selection is suitable for American. The second dish is the duck roast pork rice roll. This roll has duck and bbq pork. It is another good creative tapas. The next dish is the steam turnip pudding. Most people pan fried the turnip. This dish put the turnip in bowl and steam. The following is the pan fried pork and vegetables roll. You have a few options in South Florida for dim sum, CP lands on my top 5. Personally, I'm not a fan of carts so to have an extensive menu of not only dim sum but their dinner menu and even Chifa, it will take you years to go through all of the options! I can't say I've had anything yet that I really didn't like. I have my staples that I get every time like the rice noodle roll and the stuffed eggplant, then will try to try a few new items every visit. I did find the lobster to be just ok, but I just don't care to crack the claws with all of the sauce on it. Today is Chinese New Year, so I get that it's busy. But service was not that good. I usually like this place because the food is normally decent and it's pretty clean. We got here at 6:30 and ordered like 7 dishes. We waited 2 hours and only got 2 of them. The rice was also soggy and seemed it was undercooked.
