No meat and whatever was in there, we just kept chewing it and it was like shredded chicken and you would have to spit it out. I ordered chicken and broccoli last night the sauce was very thick and sweet. I could not call back up there due to it being after closing. So I called on Saturday. The owner said she had no complaints from anyone else and she did not care if she lost me as a customer. I wasn't asking for a refund, just wanted to know if the sauce had changed from the previous. I needed to hop on and update my review because we had Panda Panda twice within the last month and both times they were truly fantastic. They went from "acceptable option" to "New Years eve worthy!" Highly recommend getting the wings, available plain, spicy or honey sauce, they are the biggest wings I have ever seen and perfectly cooked and delicious in all three options. They are so good that I will probably make my husband Justin go pick them up from work in Lexington as we have moved to Winston- where there are zillions more food options and yet, the wings are that good. For New Year's Eve we did it big and got the pupu platter which features a huge array of appetizers, the fried dumplings, the spicy wings, hot and sour soup, coconut chicken with fried rice and general tso chicken with lo Mein- because this obviously wasn't enough food, we also got our daughter an order of fried shrimp and fries... and spring rolls. I would say the only throw away on the order is the spring rolls, they aren't exceptional and you can air fry better at home. But everything else was so great, truly, just great. And all of this food came in around $50 and fed us for two and a half days. In our last order we also had their sesame chicken which I would rank right up there with some of the best I have ever had! Me and my boyfriend wanted a quick meal and he had told me he had panda panda about 2 or 3 years ago and it was good. Lets start off with the first thing... i was served drinks by a child (8-9) and they had a small toddler layed on two booths asleep. We got egg rolls and im gonna be honest thats the only good thing that we ate other then water (btw you have to pay for water...) we got the dragon Phoenix with fried rice and sesame chicken with lo mein and I'm gonna be honest i have had my fair share of sesame chicken and lo mein.... That shit was trash. Shrimp wasnt even cleaned properly. Fried rice tasted awful and respectfully how do you mess up fried rice... plus all food was served on paper plates. Exceptionally good Chinese takeout. Many takeout places have stringy chicken but this one's chicken is both crispy outside and tender inside. The crab Rangoons and egg rolls are also a cut above the rest. Staff was very friendly. read more

I love Panda Panda, I really do.. but if they don't hire some more help I don't think I'll be back. I understand it's a family business, but they get so busy even on a week night that it's ridiculous of how long you have to wait to even get a drink order. The parents must not speak great English, because they just walk around taking dirty plates and filling drinks. Other than the wait staff, the food is great. Good flavor and decent portions. Their teriyaki beef or chicken sticks are always a hit. Hot and sour soup is a little too salty, but I prefer it better than the other soups. I'm a huge fan of chicken wings, and they've got a good order of them. Can't go wrong with any of their dinner specials. I like to try something different everytime I go. They don't have a drink machine, so if you order a soda expect to pay by the can. read more

Appearance from outside isn't appealing.. but the staff and food Are actually really great. The food Came out hot and had just freshly been cooked. I enjoyed the fried Dumplins and the lo mein with vegetables was excellent. I ordered Hunan chicken but I think I got General Taos ?? Still not certain about that. Okay guys, I have to update my review on this place because they're going for it now! They got a ton of great reviews at one point, and then they apparently changed ownership, which was met with a number of downgraded reviews. We've personally been several times in the last year, and it's been hit or miss. We haven't experienced the previous ownership, but they are clearly stepping up their game now! It looks like they are making some cosmetic changes to the restaurant itself. They are still takeout only, but now they have a website for convenience of online ordering. We gave this a try and it went very smoothly, making things even quicker and more contactless. But the main point I want to emphasize here is they have improved the quality of their food! We got the pupu platter, as we usually do, the sesame chicken with lo mein noodles, and hot and sour soup. Everything was hot and fantastic, and that's coming from someone who has experienced plenty of Americanized Chinese food both in the Triad and coming from NY! Nothing was really disappointing at all, except they seem to have taken wanton skins off the menu. In any case, Panda Panda is staking a claim now for best Americanized Chinese food, certainly in Lexington and perhaps in all of the Triad! If you've been a fan in the past and got disappointed by changes, give them another try! I swear by this Chinese restaurant! Their food is awesome. The rice isn't hard and the beef doesn't have a rubber texture. It smells amazing, and when you pick up your food, there is silverware! This place is great usually. They have good food. Probably the best Chinese restaurant in the county. But The chicken chow mien is not good at all . It was slimy, looks like snot on a plate. I will not be ordering that again . They had to have cooked it too long Or they don't know how to cook it. It was really garlicky . I do love the sesame chicken, orange chicken, scallion chicken, and the teriyaki steak on a stick. The egg drop soup is good too. Actually most of their dishes are good. I had a very bad experience tonight at Panda Panda.The food quality has been going down steadily over the past two years,but tonight is was more about the bad attitude of the woman owner. We had a charge on our bill for regular tap water. My husband and I have frequented Panda Panda for the past twenty years. Old owners were very nice,but the new woman owner is not hospitable at all. I asked her about the water charge and she said we have always charged for water. It was tap water not bottled water. I told her that I was disappointed in the charge for the water and she remarked I DONT CARE!! I remarked well we wont be back and she remarked again I DONT CARE!! This is a sweet spot for Mom & Pop Chinese...its not authentic rather American style Chinese but it satisfies. The services is very caring and attentive. If you make an effort to be friendly they are so appreciative and even try harder to give great service. We like the spicy sauteed broccoli ( can't remember actual name). The Kung Pao Chicken was quite good with tender chicken crunchy bits of pepper and peanuts. we like the egg foo yung especially - they take no offense at asking you to press them as they are fried to remove excess oil....a natural occurrence in fried ffod... their gravy needs a bit of tweaking for my taste but it was fine. The wonton soup might be my only complaint they are bit on the soft side and the same amount come in a quart of a pint....odd? We diverted to Panda Panda when the restaurant we originally planned to dine at was closed (as they are every Monday now, apparently). Having a hankering for Chinese, we pulled out our handy dandy Yelp app and found another restaurant that fit the bill in close proximity (and it even had 4 1/2 stars, score!). We pulled into the parking lot at half past six and were surprised to see only a handful of cars. Chalking it up to a slow Monday, we proceeded inside. So, here's my assessment- the lack of cars was not due to a slow Monday. Apparently something has happened to this dining establishment in recent times. The decor was dated, which I don't necessarily hold against a restaurant -- provided the food tells a different story. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case here. All of our dishes appeared to contain frozen vegetables, nothing fresh from the garden here. My meal contained tofu, which I'm a huge fan of- but the consistency was extra chewy. Weird. The rice was mushy, as if we were eating from a pot that had been made several hours earlier and been setting on warm all day. Honestly, there was not a single bite at the table that impressed. We definitely won't go out of our way to dine here again. read more
