Eight here Sunday early evening. Barely any people were there so it was nice and quiet. Oddly enough, there was no music playing. Flank and steak pho were both good, broth had good flavor. They gave plenty of fresh bean sprouts and herbs to accompany the pho. Oyster flavored chicken stirfry egg noodle dish was also good too, but a little on the sweeter side. You get to choose three types of vegetables to come with the noodle dish, and I love that they gave plenty of them. Nice touch the ice water came in clear glass mugs. I wouldn't say the restaurant is completely kid friendly as the staff didn't like my kid touching their small fake lit up plastic "tree" by the front door. They had one highchair available. If I am back in the area, I would definitely come back here for good pho. read more

We went on a Saturday night, while the restaurant wasn't slammed packed--there was a steady stream of patrons for dine-in and take out meals. (Worry not, it's just as good to go!) We started with the spring rolls with two cute bowls of peanut sauce. My entree was the pho with flank. It's basically the most comforting meal that I can think of! The broth is hearty and beef forward, the noodles are perfectly cooked as is the meat. I've had all the options and I think steak is probably my favorite! My husband tried something new--the beef bulgogi with kimchi. He loved it! There were large green onions cooked in, he said the kimchi gave it a nice acid flavor which enhanced the meat. Service here was lovely, my waitress was kind and attentive. Food was served fresh and promptly. The inside was bright and inviting with calming music playing. I really enjoyed everything that I had from here. The spring rolls with shrimp were fresh and cold and served with a flavorful peanut sauce that had actual peanuts sprinkled on top, my favorite! The egg rolls were served with a chili like duck sauce and were hot right out of the fryer, best way to have them! I ordered the Spicy Miso Ramen, which was delicious. I did feel like it lacked a bit of flavor though and was not as pungent as I was expecting. Next time I try out this place I plan to order some Pho. Today I was particularly in the mood for ramen though. One other thing is that the ramen claimed it had wood ear mushrooms in it and it did not come in my broth.. Tried this restaurant while in town for business. The spring roll was excellent, likely the best I've ever had. The peanut dipping sauce was wonderful! I ordered the Pho With Steak, Meatball & Flank for my main course. One of the best Pho broths I have ever had! And the portion size was perfect for me and I was really hungry! The food was okay, but a bit bland. Not as good as a couple of the Vietnamese restaurants we've been to in Greensboro. I was astonished at the prices since the restaurant only had two dollar marks. I honestly expected the prices to be lower. I agree with Darius. It wasn't really worth the big price. Our stir-frys were all $14.95 (two tofu and one chicken) We were three people, and they served us one at a time. I guess they cooked our meals one at a time, but it meant that my companions had to either watch me eat while they had nothing, or I had to wait until their meals came and my food got cold. We were the only patrons in the restaurant at the time we ordered. One more lady came in after we started getting our food. We got there at about 1:30. My daughter and I both prefer to be vegetarians, and the pickings are slim for people with that preference, because of the abundance of pork on the menu, which none of us eat at all. I would be willing to try again, and try one of the lunch specials for 15% off the big price, but I will just drink water to bring the cost down a bit! The ambiance was okay. Nothing special, that's for sure, but clean and fresh. Our waitress was friendly and cheerful. She was a bit too personal, though, which we normally like, but I think we felt uncomfortable when she compared my husband to her 80-year old grandfather who just died, and she cried. When I lived in Asheboro years ago I was always wishing for some authentic Asian restaurants. Pho Huong Thanh has authentic and delicious Vietnamese food. We were driving past Asheboro and decided to stop here for lunch since the reviews were so high. The owner and another staff member were so sweet and provided great service. They offer a daily lunch special so we ordered the vermicelli with sausage. We also got the fresh spring rolls and a taro milk tea. The spring rolls are to die for. The sauce is delicious and the pork inside was so tender. The noodles were so good. The portion was huge and I really enjoyed the sausage. I have never had taro milk tea and it was awesome as well. The purple color is pretty. I can't wait to fo back and try more of the delicious food. read more

The food here is good. Everything is fresh and made to order. The service is good, you may have to wait a little longer than expected because the business is short staffed. The ambiance is nice as well. I ordered shrimp fried rice, and it had a lot of flavor. The only thing I'm not a fan of are the prices. I paid 17.07 for just shrimp fried rice and nothing else. For the amount of money I paid, I could have gotten a combo somewhere else along with a drink. However, I don't want to complain, but overall, my experience here was good. We stopped by this restaurant before heading over to the zoo. It is tucked away in the corner of a strip mall, and we got there just as it opened so we were the only patrons. The restaurant interior is nice and clean, and the people running the place were friendly enough. We ordered the grilled pork rice plate, a banh mi , a Vietnamese iced coffee, and Bun Bo Hue (spicy beef noodle soup). We are from Dallas and have eaten our fair share of good Vietnamese food. This...was not it. My BBH did not come with banana flower or red cabbage, as it should be served. The flavor of the soup was lacking, and there was no pork trotter or blood jelly. Also, the noodles were all broken! It was just a bunch of really short strands that made it really frustrating to eat. My husband said his banh mi was just ok. The grilled pork was also pretty average, although the rice with the added coconut was a nice touch. Vietnamese coffee was a little too sweet for me with not enough coffee flavor. Portions are large, so there's that. Overall, this is an OK spot for Vietnamese food, given the location. But don't be fooled by all the 5 star reviews and expect to find a hidden gem. read more

We are so lucky! I am so grateful to have amazing Thai and now Vietnamese here in Asheboro. It's one of my favorite foods and they nail it. Really really fresh. Their fresh spring rolls are genuinely perfect and their peanut sauce is one of the better ones I've had. I love their tableware/glasses. They don't use styrofoam which I can not stand in their Togo's. Everything is immaculately clean and bright. I don't love televisions being on, but I understand some people enjoy that. The pho broth is a tiny bit light, but so clean. So fresh. Veggies so fresh. Exactly what I needed on a rainy day. Got the steak pho, fried tofu spring rolls, and a hot green tea. So, so happy with this place. Definitely adding them to my Rolodex of go-tos. Service fantastic they were very sweet. We love BBQ, but it was time for something a little healthier. The food here fit the bill. I felt like I was home in Minnesota having a nice bowl of pho at one of our local joints. We started out with fried egg rolls and spring rolls. The egg rolls were super crispy fried, just like I like them. The spring rolls were nicely chilled and just stuffed with fresh ingredients. I had the meatball pho and my wife had the steak. The broth was spot on. Savory and tasty with just that hint of anise that is so good. Pho lovers - here's you new go-to! My daughter discovered this place while getting her nails done next door (interesting fact, both establishments are owned by the same people). The restaurant itself is tucked away in the Crossroads Plaza on E. Dixie Drive, across the street from Harbor Freight and Aldis. If you blink, you'll miss it, and that would be a true travesty for any lover of the delicious Vietnamese soup, pronounced, "fuh" (for anyone that wants to sound like a pro). Now on to the good stuff, the food! On my most recent trip, we ordered both eggrolls and spring rolls. The eggrolls are on the smaller size, but what they lack in size, the more than make up in flavor. They're filled with pork, shrimp, cellophane noodles, veggies and spices. Perfectly cooked until all layers have the perfect crispness (no doughy centers on these babies), and served with a side of sweet and sour. I'm not a huge fan of spring rolls, but my daughter is. I can tell you that she was far from disappointed. These babies were big! Stuffed with shrimp, pork, vermicelli noodles and seasonings, they come with a side of super good peanut sauce. She got an order of 2 with the intention of taking one order to work for lunch the next day-- let's just say they never made it, they're that good. On my last trip I couldn't make up my mind between the Pho with steak or the Tofu with Steamed rice. Their Pho broth makes the dish. I like mine nice and spicy. They place all of the veggies and meat on the side (bean sprouts, cilantro leaves, sliced jalapeños, sweet basil leaves, limes and scallions. You add it to the steaming hot broth to your preference, and it cooks it perfectly right in front of your eyes in under a minute. The tofu dish ((Dau Hu Chien Sa Ot) is perfect- for those of us that like/ love/ adore/ would marry the humble bean curd. Spicy, saucy and perfectly seasoned. If I were to criticize Pho Huong Thanh, it would be for the speed of their service, or lack there of. However, as far as I can tell there are only two employees (the owners I would guess) that cook, wait tables, bus and world the register & phones. And to be honest, the food is well worth the wait. read more

I came across this place in the Hometown Magazine, and I am so glad I did! It was a nice and clean atmosphere, and friendly staff. We ordered to go, he packaged and labeled everything nicely. Now- the food. We got 2 orders of Spring rolls (fresh & so good!), 2 orders of Pho (the toppings were also super fresh and it was delicious!). The Spicy fried tofu was great, and so was the Mango Green Tea. Overall, we're satisfied, and will definitely be going back! Pleasantly surprised! As someone Vietnamese I'm pretty critical when it comes to Viet food, but I'm so happy that I decided to stop in. I had a work trip in Asheboro and saw their singlular Viet place and assumed it would be just okay. I went anyways because I wanted hot soup on a cold day and was not disappointed. I got the spicy beef noodle soup and the spring rolls. The soup was full of flavor and it was NOT lacking in quality beef! It comes with Thai basil so make sure to rip off some leaves and add them in. The soup is not very spicy but you can add more hot oil in if you'd like to. The spring rolls had pork and shrimp and they were fresh and tasty. The woman who served me was super sweet and accommodating. Come here if you want to try authentic Viet food! Definitely just as good as the Vietnamese food in Philadelphia. read more

Oh my! Some of the best food we have had out in a long time, and certainly the best Vietnamese style. The food is so flavorful, it needs no other condiments! There is hoisin, soy and sriracha on the tables. We had the fresh spring rolls and each person had individual peanut sauce. Delicious! Between the 3 of us we ordered the spicy fried tofu, shrimp fried rice, and a stir fried noodle dish with chicken and pick your own vegetables. Everything was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good!
