Food here was pretty typical of any Chinese takeout spot. I got the curry chicken. I thought it was pretty decent a little bit on the salty side, but the chicken was very tender and I love the vegetables mixed in. It helped bring a little more brightness of a dish and made it more balanced compared to having just meat. Can't expect too much on flavor or quality though especially on a Chinese takeout spot. The service was quick. I think it took about 5 to 10 minutes for me to get my dish. The waiter upfront was a little bit grumpy, but again since it's a takeout spot I don't expect stellar customer service. It was fast so that's really all that mattered. I want to say go out of your way to to eat here, but if you are running late for something and just need a spot to eat a quick bite I'm sure this place could be OK. read more

Years ago I left a perfect review, and I still stand by it, for all these years, BUT now they have finally changed. I go here 3-4 times a month and have noticed that this year, after their summer vacation, they no longer seem to care! Orders are incomplete, and even worse sometimes they are not even prepared correctly, ie: egg rolls missing, missing the included rice sides, given a small instead of regular sizes, get a combo dish that includes shrimp, but there's none in the dish! What's worse is I know it's not a matter of them not understanding English or something, they understand it just fine, that's not the problem. And finally, and this could be me getting older, but I have started getting a minor reaction to their soups, after about 15-20 min I start feeling like I've got spider webs all over me (I've asked and they still say No, but I think they are using MSG now, that's how I react to MSG). Couple more tries and that'll be it if nothing changes. It's extremely sad, they are/were good. read more

Surprisingly satisfied! Everyone should know all Chinese restaurants are not created equal...not sure why especially if you order rice or veggies. Well I have had my share of disappointments at other Chinese restaurants, but this one here, I was highly satisfied!! Now I must say, I have never been the type to just try anything. Therefore, the majority of the menu, at any Chinese spot, I cannot speak on. I play it safe when it comes to Chinese. As a result, you'll see me ordering the broccoli with garlic sauce or I'll order the house fried rice. I figure, there's no messing that up right...but it happens. I ordered a small broccoli with garlic sauce (no rice) from here a few weeks ago. I ended up here only because of convenience to my destination. I also requested my order to be spicy. I paid a reasonable amount... I expected a larger portion, but I think my eyes were bigger than my expectations. Thinking back, the portion was decent for a small size. I assume if I kept the rice, the portion size would of been ideal. While my food wasn't as spicy as I prefer, the broccoli was cooked just right!! The garlic sauce was yummy too!! It wasn't too greasy nor was it seeping out if the container into my bag - I CANNOT STAND THAT. I digress Service was smooth and fast. I placed my order, paid for it and it was ready in less than 10 mins. I was a little hesitant ordering from here at first, because I did not see any other patrons pulling up or waiting for orders. But as soon as I had that thought, two customers came in and another came in to pick up an order. I tell you to see other patrons definitely reassures my spirits when I order and then think twice about it...like I want to cancel my order when no others are around. I'm silly, I know! So yes, speaking on that meal alone, I would definitely recommend you try this location. The restaurant is located in a shopping center that is minutes from the Norfolk airport. There is also a Food Lion nearby and a hair shop (my main reason for being in the center) both are within walking distance. Ample parking. Landed in Norfolk around lunch time and looked up nearby Chinese food. It's just your typical fast food Chinese place in a strip mall. Now, I've seen nice Chinese places in strip malls, but this is not one of them. So I already had my expectations set appropriately. There were lunch specials written on a white board, so I went to those. There were 18 entree options, white or fried rice, and choice of egg roll, soda, wonton soup or egg drop soup, all for $5.25. I got the shrimp lo mein (which you still get rice with), and she decided to give me an egg roll with it without asking which option I wanted, for some reason. Luckily that is what I wanted . There's an open kitchen, so you get to see them prepare it hot and fresh. Except for the egg roll, which they take out of the fridge and pop in the deep fryer . The food was ready quickly and was a very generous portion! The fried rice was pretty bland, but the lo mein was decent. And I mean, the egg roll was an egg roll. 3 stars may be a little generous for the quaand taste of the food, but if you want something fast, cheap, and filling, I guess it's ok. read more

I really enjoyed my lunch here. This place isn't to far from my work amd in a small shopping center. The lunch option comes with fried or white rice and either an egg roll, soda or soup as a side. I got the shrimp lo mein with fried rice , wonton soup and aged an egg roll. Ive always found fried rice in Hampton roads to ride the line of blah or terrible. This place is actually up to my standards. The lo mein was great and so was the egg roll. The wonton i didn't enjoy too much. I thought the broth at first glance was too dark and it didn't taste horrible but i wouldn't get it again. I'm definitely coming back for lunch again. read more

This place was just OK, i really wanted to like it as it is walking distance from my home, but i will probably not go there again. I had the general tso's chicken, beef lo mien, and hot and sour soup. General tso's chicken was good, except that it was not spicy at all even though it says it is on the menu. The beef Lo Mien was average, could use more veggies. The Hot and Sour soup is what ruined this place for me. It was sweet, which i was not expecting. It was very off putting. Also it was not spicy at all! I had to had 3 heaping spoonfuls of rooster chili sauce to get it to where it should be, but in the end I just couldn't eat it because of it's sweetness. Which sucks because hot and sour soup is my favorite. The soup came with fried little wonton pieces, but they tasted like communion wafers instead fried strips of heaven as they normally do. Steamed rice also came with the chicken, i give that five stars, best thing i got from there. perfectly cooked. read more

Solid place to eat at. I stopped by this location last night and got he Beef and Broccoli plus some spring rolls for the wife. This was a solid showing by this place. I would go back and try other items they have. The price is about what you would expect. Looks like the older man has been doing this for most of his life. For Chinese take out, the food is made fresh, very tasty compared to most other places like this. The hot and sour soup is not a gelatinous goo, but a real soup! The fried dumplings are gigantic and super delish and we love the teriyaki chicken on the stick! read more
