This is a small Chinese restaurant here in Ghent. It's in the corner along with other small shops. There's a homeless woman laying in the front of the restaurant, not a good sight. But we're hungry for Chinese food, so here we are. I will say, it's a takeout restaurant. There is no table service, but there are plenty of tables to sit at. It's almost $60 for just 2 people, so for takeout that's pricey but the portions are big. I got the boneless spareribs and they are soft and tasty. We had to ask for chili oil, but at least they had it. It was a good amount of food, and we had plenty of leftovers. So maybe next time we'll have to order less. Overall a good meal. read more

Another disappointment. This place used to be good but not anymore. Food is prepared without care or consideration to quality. The scallion pancakes were thrown together at a sloppy way and absolutely grease soap take a look at the picture. The chop suey was bland colorless and mostly just celery and onion. Me and my wife love this place. It's our favorite Chinese restaurant. We always get great food and great service. So glad they've opened up their spaces to dine in to pre-COVID levels. Clean areas for dine-in or for waiting. Even the mens restroom is always clean and smells good. Can't speak to the women's restroom, obviously. read more

I've heard good things about this place last night from my colleagues and left wondering why I hadn't been coming here all along. Everything was delicious. The General Tso was crispy, just spicy enough and my daughter loved the hot and sour soup and the curry fried rice. The mixed veggies were also delicious. Portion sizes were generous, we got two full meals out of one order and the price was fair compared to other take out places in the area. Also, bonus points for their sweet tea. read more

Kind Wok is my go to for Chinese! Always consistent, polite and reasonably priced. I love the text system the have implemented for closures as well. For someone who offer orders by phone for pickup it is convenient to know if the are closed for a holiday or something like that. read more

As a Jersey girl, I grew up loving these types of casual take out restaurants. Leaving the tri-state, I've often found these fast "Chinese" food places are just even more greasy versions of the food I keep as a guilty pleasure. That's why I was just so happy to come across Kin's Wok. I would come here again, because it's the closest to the quality from back home. I came here based on the reviews of friends and family that used to love eating at Kins years ago. So many people raved about the difference in taste between this chinese restaurant and every other one with a stock name. Unfortunately I was HIGHLY disappointed. The cash only aspect is a bit annoying. The only reason they are getting two stars is because the girl allowed me to run to the bank down the street while cooking my food so it would be ready by the time I got back. I ordered the lunch special (generals chicken) with white rice. The lunch special did not come with an egg roll or side of soup, which was a bit confusing because a lot of other chinese places offer that for a cheaper price than Kin's. The Generals chicken was a soggy. I was really unimpressed by the flavor, the sauce was very gooey and had no spice to it. If there is one thing a chinese place can't afford to mess up it is the general's chicken. And they failed miserably. The rice was dry and crunchy. I didn't finish my lunch "special". For the price and for all the hype it was NOT worth it and I don't plan on coming back. This food was better then anything we have in my county! We didn't know Chinese food was supposed to taste this good. We over ordered yet ate everything! My advice would be eat here. Also we had it delivered on one of the coldest days and the driver didn't complain. I had come issues with cash vs card and they fixed it without complaint. I've been a customer here since it's opening. Although it has changed hands over the years I've stuck with them as my "go to" Chinese restaurant through the changes, through closing due to covid and supply problems and then reopening with price increases for what has become lackluster food. It dawned on me at my last visit that Kin's has done what a few other restaurants in the area have done - added a charge for using your credit card. It's not as though they didn't increase the prices on the menu (disproportionally at that) to cover all things post covid. Therefore, when I see this coupled with them tossing in a fee to take your payment, I feel taken advantage of. It does not cost anymore now to take credit card pmts. as it did pre covid so there is really no need to add this except that they want to squeeze just another dollar or two from what amounts to the vast majority of customers who pay via credit card. So, I hope you enjoy the extra $2 that you added to my last order because it was indeed my last order. There are plenty of other choices for take out and nothing screams cheap and greedy more than adding a fee for absolutely nothing. You would have done much better to add a couple of percent to your prices. read more

I am not sure what has happened, but Kin Wok has definitely changed over the years. The customer has is not good especially when the make a mistake. The last few times I have purchased food from them I have been dissatisfied. I like to give a restaurant a chance, but enough is enough. Very disappointed in the quality of food lately. We used to order from here almost weekly, but the last few times the food was not good. Today the shrimp fried rice was burnt, not all of it, but lots of burnt pieces of rice, egg, and onion. The shrimp in the shrimp and veggies was water logged and the white rice was mushy. And lastly the bourbon chicken was super sweet. The shrimp rolls were good, I got 3 pieces of shrimp in mine! But we are overall dissatisfied. It's unlikely that we will return and that sucks because finding a really good Chinese spot around here is tough. Bring back the old Kins Wok! read more
