Best Chinese food on the island. PROBLEM is the delivery of the food. I added a tip to my order to be delivered to my home. The driver called from the car for me to get the food from him, WTF???!!! If I wanted to leave my home and save money on a tip, I would have picked up the food myself from the restaurant. Save your money and ask the receptionist on the phone who will be delivering your food before adding a tip. Very sad read more

China House is okay Chinese food. There are other places that are better, but this place is consistent and usually quick. Prices are average. Inside is dated, but we always get takeout anyway. Woman who is at the front is nice. They are cash only. read more

We have tried every Chinese restaurant on the 5 mile island over the past 7 years except for China House. Probably because during our quest for decent Chinese food we happened upon Panda (on Pacific), became huge fans of their food and ordered from them exclusively as our favorite takeout/delivery Chinese restaurant. Unfortunately, the last two times we ordered our food just wasn't up to par for some reason. Tonight we were feeling adventurous and decided to finally try China House. I have to say my entire family was thoroughly impressed. So impressed that my General Tso loving daughter who orders the dish at every restaurant where it appears on the menu told us that this was the best she's ever had. I had to try it to believe her and after that first bite into the crispy, slightly spicy, with a hint of delicious sweet orange sauce I was sold! Everything else we ordered was also delicious with fresh veggies and memorable sauces. We can't wait for next weekend as China House is certainly on the docket again. read more

This appearance of this "restaurant" was extremely dirty. It looked like it needed a thorough cleaning and a refresh as far repainting. The tables and chairs were just placed here and there. The restroom had a large sign on the front saying it was out of order. While waiting an extraordinarily long time, the woman behind the counter came out and proceeded to clean the tables with Lysol spray rather than an actual surface cleaner. I truly believe if the Board of Health walked in here, they would be shut down! read more

Ordered takeout from here on a Thursday evening close to 10PM. I walked in and ordered at the counter with the not so friendly proprietor I would have to assume. Ordered a chicken with Garlic sauce combo meal which came with pork yellow rice and an egg roll. When I was paying, I asked for a little chili oil and was told they they don't have that. What Chinese place doesn't have chili oil? The Chicken was a really low quality and the vegetables especially peppers/mushrooms were way to big in size. The taste was just OK. HOT AND SOUR SOUP: FOUR STARS So, unlikely place to get Chinese food, but I was craving some hot and sour soup while in Wildwood this past week with ze boyfriend. Read previous reviews of food poisoning AFTER leaving the place with a quart of hot and sour soup ($3.75) and feared for my stomach. Before that, we waited about five minutes for the soup. Normally, it wouldn't take up to five minutes because it's, well, hot and sour soup. But it came piping hot with mushrooms (definitely ask for more, if you like mushrooms), tree ear mushrooms, bamboo shoots, eggs, minced garlic, and something else that I can't remember. Verdict? Delicious hot and sour soup. Perhaps it was the lack of real food that day (read: we only ate crepes (from Cafe Flora), corn, fries, corn, and some more fries and corn at Wildwood Boardwalk), so we inhaled the quart of hot and sour soup in minutes. It's definitely comparable to the one back home at Fuschia -- and that's the place that makes my favorite hot and sour soup of all time! Not sure about ordering the other dishes, but we'll be back here for the hot and sour soup next time we're in Wildwood! read more

I agree the hot and sour soup was pretty good as was the egg rolls. The generals chicken was not so good it almost seemed uncooked in the middle but the next time I went they gave me another order for free so thanks for the excellent service on that part. I see some people gave a single star which is totally unfair the food is not that bad. I suggest you do like many people do on Yelp and try them out and write your own review. I would not recommend this restaurants delivery service to anyone. My family ordered food to be delivered to our hotel, which is a mile away from this restaurant, last night at 7:00pm. We were told the food would be delivered at about 8:00pm. We have a large family and were perfectly fine waiting the hour in hopes it would ensure good quality and accuracy. At about 8:15/8:30, the food hadn't arrived, so we called and were told it was on its way. 9:00/9:15 rolls around and the food still didn't come. We called again and were told it was on its way and would arrive any minute. 9:30 comes and there is no food and no calls explaining the situation. We called to cancel the order and to our surprise, we did not receive an apology or compensation for our time wasted. The person who answered the phone was very rude to me. All I did was ask if they had vegetarian meat options. Some Chinese restaurants do and it was a simple question. She was very rude so then I said okay and hung up. Then I got a text message to my phone with derogatory language. Extremely unprofessional. I don't think you can beat the quality, quantity, or variety for the price. I have been coming here for years. I have never had a bad experience, even though I deserved it more than once. I got the opportunity to receive a delivery from this restaurant not only did the arrive very fast the food was amazing I ordered the general Tso chicken steamed dumplings beef and broccoli and all I can say is wow the delivery driver was very pleasant and even cracked a couple jokes the only thing else i can say we will be ordering from the china house again read more

Well, where to start? Firstly, this place is difficult to appraise since there are NO positives! The place looks closed, all tables n chairs are pushed to the wall. Wife speaks English with a heavy accent. ( I called in for takeout). Sweet sour soup was ok, wonton was awful. Thickest wonton with minimal taste. Best item: steamed rice. 2 days later, more rice takeout. Rice pot was barely able to fill a$ 2.00 carton, which contained dried, hard kernals.
