We have been here twice and will definitely be back!! Very fresh, great tasting food, good menu selection, casual setting with great views.

Outside of the beach front view which is really a high dune no water view this restaurant was meh. We went hoping to have brunch on Sunday but they stop serving breakfast at 12 noon. This made us pivot since we were hoping for breakfast. The menu has a selection of Mediterranean options , salads , sandwiches and sides. Menu very diner-esque. There was not a lot of people in a resort town, no wait for lunch on a beautiful sunny weekend day should be a sign. We opted for the Mediterranean salad which was lettuce , cucumber purple onion , with feta and grape leaves stuffed. Dressing was nothing but oil and oregano no vinegar at all. Was bland to say the least feta was tasteless. We also ordered 2 burger deluxe platters which were cooked well but standard non memorable. All in all service was slow and wasn't our favorite meal. All in 72.00 for 3 for lunch two burgers and a salad ... you do the math. Plenty of better options in beautiful cape May. Passing by this spot. read more

It had a diverse menu at acceptable prices. Inside was casual with some souvenirs available for purchase. The deck seating in the back offered a view of the sand bank. The server was very friendly. I ordered the clam chowder and mussels. My husband ordered the chicken kebab. (He wanted the mix grill but they said they were out of beef.) His house salad and my soup came out the same time. His salad looked pretty good. My New England clam chowder was very thick and rich with more potatoes than clams. It was seasoned well. Next came the mussels which were rather large for an appetizer. The meat was a little small but I liked the wine garlic sauce that it came with. My husband liked his chicken kabob. The food was ok, not mind blowing but what we wanted. read more

I went here twice during my recent stay in Cape May, once for lunch and once for breakfast. Both meals were good, I had King Triton breakfast and the crab burger. I sat in the back by the dunes, the water is a little tough to see since it's behind the dunes but you can catch a glimpse of it, and the atmosphere is define still very beachy. Randomly walking a few blocks & this spot ticked off all the boxes, right off the beach, huge space inside, tons of tables & super fast & friendly service. Was not a good experience. Very slow service. Crab cake was served with a "fruit salad" which was two pieces of cut up fruit(see pic). While the back deck had a nice breeze, the only view is of the sand dunes. read more

l Food was so mediocre I genuinely think my microwave could've done a better job. Everything tasted straight out of the frozen section at Walmart and somehow all of us left feeling like we lost a fight with our stomachs. The server was super nice -- honestly the only reason this isn't getting reported to the FDA. But charging a 20% gratuity for a party of FOUR is actually insane. Texas Roadhouse doesn't even pull that stunt and at least there the rolls don't taste like freezer burn and disappointment. 0/10. We had lunch here. Good food, great price and EXCELLENT service from Kay (Kayleigh... hope I'm spelling that correctly) I never thought I would find lobster rolls, which was stuffed full of lobster for under $20 at a beachside restaurant. They did not skimp on the amount of lobster meat on that roll. Our server Kay was also very sweet and attentive. Overall a great experience and I will definitely stop here again next time we are in Cape May. Simply cant be beat for a restaurant right on the beach. It was also a short walk (about 3 blocks) to the Washington street Mall, so in an excellent location. read more

Great, casual place to grab lunch on a beach day or rainy day. Brian was our server, he was polite and seated us right away. Seated promptly, friendly service and fresh food. My lettuce was fresh and crisp, chicken was crisp on the outside and juicy on the inside. Glad we made time this trip to give it a try. read more

This was one of the worst food experiences of my entire life. For one they charge you gratuity for 4 or more people like they are some sort of fancy restaurant. So the service was quick and attentive, not at all like other reviews. Nice outdoor deck space, host was courteous in asking if we wanted to be in the sun or not. Good unfortunately was just passable. We had fish & chips, good. Eggplant parm with pasta, was ok, very cheesy. We also had crab cake sandwich which was very good and the chicken Caesar wrap which was too salty & not very good. This place is hit or miss. We had more misses than hits. Wow this was the most horrible experience I've ever had in my life. The apparent busboy physically got in my face in a threatening manner and cursed at me. I spoke to the manager who was like "what did you do" and then just proceeded to argue with me. I was absolutely in disbelief. My friend got the burger which was so bad he wouldn't even eat it. Overall the experience here was about the worst I've ever experienced. I simply cannot believe I was physically threatened here. This is a lovely restaurant next to the convention center with an awesome view of the beach. It's not a fancy restaurant, but the food is good, the service is spot on and the surroundings are very beautiful. It is a BYOB so you'll save a few bucks there and there are so many ice cream places around that you'll probably save money there also. The best part for us was the hostess, who was really sweet. Excellent Mediterranean food. What a treat to find good hummus and vegetables and calimari among the junk food on the board walk. And to sit on the screened in deck and eat surrounded by dune grasses and treated to a lovely sunset. Best of all, though, was the service. My wife had cut her finger; the host found a bandage. I dropped my wallet under the table and left the restaurant; the staff collected it and waited for me to return. Our family experienced appallingly BAD service at this restaurant. Our wait time for a basic lunch stretched far beyond reasonable, while other tables seemed to be on an express lane. When we inquired about our order, our waitress who also claimed to be the manager made unapologetic excuses and behaved aggressively and disrespectfully. The moment we requested to cancel, our food magically appeared. She continued to make excuses at our table in a very loud and rude manner, which startled my child. We were patient and polite throughout, yet were treated differently and poorly. The food was OK, but the appalling service makes this restaurant absolutely not worth visiting. read more

If you're looking for a place for lunch on the beach this was a nice place. We sat in the back where you could hear the waves of the ocean and feel the cool breeze. Our server was pleasant. Our meal was good and flavorful. The chicken kabob was a decent portion. The only disappointing part was the lobster roll on a hot dog bun. However the lobster was delicious the presentation was not. Would not return. Called beforehand & asked how long the wait would be for 2 people at around 6 on a Thursday- was told there was no wait. When we arrived, we waited with other families for 10 minutes with no hostess in site. When we were finally seated, we waited again 15 minutes to even meet our waitress, who didn't tell us her name and only asked us what we wanted to drink. with so many places offering up baby lil crab cakes mostly made of filler, its such a pleasure to find one that is falling apart because it's 99% crab. the sandwich really pops off with flavor. the tartar sauce we perfect. fries were alright. and I couldn't get enough of the veggie wrap. absolutely delicious read more

I have passed by Mermaids several times and noticed that it never seemed particularly busy. I thought maybe there is something missing from Mermaids since it is not more crowded.
