I went to Cheng's for a late lunch/early dinner about 2:30pm. There was a lot to eat, despite it being a quiet time. I made three trips to the buffet and generally kept to my ketodiet by selecting dishes that were strong in protein and low in carbs. I did not eat any rice or noodles or anything that was heavily battered or sauced. The restaurant was clean, and my waiter did an excellent job of taking away the trash and replenishing my drink. This place is horrible. never refill anything they actually took the food away from the buffet super dirty using chemicals around all of the food. waited 20 mins not one refill on my water or any food on the buffet your better off going to McDonald's atleast there foods warm never eating here again plus the amount of mold all over the walls read more

This is one of my favorite lunch spots. The price is very affordable, it's $9 for lunch. The selection is smaller than most other Chinese buffets, they are lacking sushi and crab legs. I don't necessarily count the sushi against them since most buffet sushi isn't good anyway. What they do have is all very good though and very fresh! The food is changed often enough that you're not eating anything more than a few minutes old for the most part. My favorite dishes there are the dumplings, crispy chicken, and the skewers. The staff is attentive and polite too. So I would recommend coming to this place for a quick bite! read more

Some of our neighbors that we haven't seen in awhile wanted to go out to dinner to catch up. Since Joy Buffet, our first pick had mysteriously closed, we ended up here. You pay first before sitting and they bring over your drinks (order when you pay). Compared to buffets in pa, this place has a very limited selection. (Only 4 carts vs the 8+ in Pa). Lots of seafood options although some of them didn't come out until 1/2 way through our meal. Plus there was no salad bar; to me, that's a basic buffet must! Also, while the girls came over constantly to take plates, everyone's glasses were empty and not a single glass was refilled! I'd say the place is pretty average; the broccoli and chicken and egg drop soup I got was good, but the fried rice was a bit dry. We've dined here several times on different occasions. They are cheaper than the other buffet restaurant in town. You can either order off the menu or eat the buffet. My hubby enjoys coming here for their crawfish BC he's a huge crawfish lover. The food is decent and their General Tso chicken is my favorite. Not traditional Chinese dish, but hey it's crispy and seasoned perfectly. Their wonton soup is also good. They have 4 different buffet stations: a cold station with fruits, salad, desserts, and you peel shrimp and 3 hot buffet stations. There's a little bit of everything for everyone. I wish they had more vegetable options and changed up some of their items every so often. The main guy that rings you up for the bill is friendly and so are most of the staff. If there's an item on the buffet that needs to be refilled or you would like a fresh batch just let them know and they will happily call in a new order for you. The restaurant can get a little steamy/muggy. There's only 2 restrooms which are tiny. Ample parking. The restaurant itself is large and accommodating. read more

Have been a patron of Changs for literally 35 years , have been away from the area for 17 and just moved back . Chang's is under new ownership over the last few years and has gone downhill . You can go in there at 6:00 or 6:30 on a Saturday night and wait 15 minutes to get fresh food brought out to you . If you ask for fresh food they may absolutely deny you because they do not want to waste the food that may be in a tray even if that food happens to be stale and cold . Even during Prime dinner hours the food is not hot , and some of it it's borderline cold . Not because I choose to go there but because it's the only place like this down south here I wind up there with people so yes I have been there about 4 or 5 times in the last 3 months . If you can avoid eating here and find another place I would suggest doing so . They are not refilling their dishes like they used to , there is cold food many of nights and there is also drug addicts from the nearby bushes and tree areas that will come in there intoxicated and falling asleep at the table . And you can sometimes watch these intoxicated individuals washing their hands in their drink cups . If you're lucky enough to get fresh hot food it's not terrible , but change has gone way down the tubes . read more

There is a plentiful assortment of healthy options such as steamed broccoli and string beans in garlic sauce as well as a smorgasbord of fried delights. If I could give 0 stars I would. They were rude to our child and even yelled at him. We first asked the woman who was rude for our money back and she said no. It wasn't until I said either give us our money back or let us speak to the owner did she finally give it back. Ehh, what can I say but it's alright. I may be spoiled in Chinese buffets, so I put this one right in the middle of the road. Had just enough for a decent variety, flavor was ok. The onion and cabbage pancake things were pretty good. Hard to find if not used to the area, because the location on Yelp was way off. I suggested correction. My family of 25 went here for our annual buffet night at wildwood. This used to be our annual spot but then we found out Joy's had better and more selection so we chose to go there instead. Unfortunately when we tried to go back this year we saw it was closed and had to choose to go to our original spot instead. It went wrong since the beginning with the seating. They did not display even any satisfactory customer service considering we brought in a big group. Also the pic I posted is not the only plate where we found hair. We found 1 more plate with more hair. When we told the lady at the cash register she said "it must be the dishwasher". She did not even offer any means of compensation either when I asked if there was going to be one. She just lightly apologized. They also added tip on the bill without letting us know in advance. I guess they deserve 1 star for the fact that we actually ate something with who knows what was in it. Also yelp does not allow to put no stars. We do not recommend this buffet to anyone unless you are ok with eating hair in your plates with your food. Cheng's isn't the fanciest when it comes to Chinese buffets, but they get the job done. The place is usually not that crowded and the food is better on average than your usual Chinese buffet. Cheng's isn't perfect (may take a bit to get new food, small, $11 when should be $9) but it's a heck of a lot better and cheaper than it's fancier buffet counterpart, Joy Buffet. If you've got a group of people who are starving and craving Chinese, Cheng's is your best bet for the area. I come here once in a while whenever I go on a trip to Cape May. The food here is good overall, but I always like to order a few dishes rather than eating whatever is served in the buffet since it is expensive. I grew up spending my summers in cape may and wildwood. I honestly have been going here for about 15 years and I have never had a bad experience. I saw the same guy at the front desk for years and always had a good conversation with him more in depth as I continued to grow.
