I moved to NM in July. I had heard Julie's Place had the best green chile cheese burger around. I drove by to find they were closed. Yelp confirmed my fears. I drive by every day. In december I noticed a lot of cars were starting to appear at the location. Last week I was convinced they were open. So today I made the decision to see if they're open. A sign on the door says open, and the big sign says drive thru only. so I drove thru. The drive thru order/speaker is busted. The place LOOKS closed. I pulled up to the drive thru window. A printed menu is on the window including hours of 10am-4:45PM. Last orders taken at 4:30PM. The window popped open and a friendly lady took my order. I got a green chile cheese burger. It was the best one I have ever had. I should start by saying I haven't been a huge green chile burger fan previously. This one was so good I will get it again and again and again. The burger itself isnt worthy of a picture it looks meh, it tastes out of this world. The onion rings were also really good (and worthy of a picture) . This is definitely a must have if you are in Roswell. We have been visiting frequently and haven't found another place that we would recommend or another "must have" while in town. When we went by, it looked closed down... but it was open for drive-through only. Make sure you dont pass it by and actually pull in to see if someone is there. I hope they stay around for a long time. I guess they have been there for a long time already. We had a cheeseburger, green chili cheeseburger and a large fry and the total was 18 bucks. A simple 2 person operation that has a few seats and a drive through. Burgers and sandwiches and sides. It is nothing fancy inside and out, but they get the job done. It is off the main drag of chain restaurants and worth the detour. We sought them out because of good reviews on Yelp, because they were local and because I thought it was about time to give the green chile/chili cheeseburger phenomenon of the Southwest a try. They were a good choice on all counts. I was expecting something with a green chili sauce poured over it. What I got was my usual hamburger "all the way" with the addition of green chile strips. They added another delicious taste to my favorite hamburger. I will be paying a little more attention when my local grocery touts that they have Hatch green chiles in stock. For now I will plan to stock up on some canned versions before I head home. Don't go here expecting fast food speed on your order. They cook it when you order and for two people handling dine in, take out and drive through orders they do a very good job. read more

Excellent burgers! We're from Carlsbad and found Julie's Place through a Google search for "Roswell NM hamburgers." We we're hoping to find a real hamburger somewhere since Blake's and Whataburger are overrated. No frozen patties at Julie's. These are old school smash-burgers made with fresh hamburger meat. Fries were cooked perfect as well. Generous proportions and reasonable prices. The couple that own place are friendly and fun to visit with. We go to Roswell on a monthly basis for medical purposes and this was the second time we stopped at Julie's. We definitely plan to make it a regular stop. Highly recommended for anyone passing through Roswell as well as anyone who actually live there. read more

Wow Roswell wtg with having Julie's place here. Forget any other hamburger (big Ds is still good but a PITA to get into with parking). Julie cooks up a major good home cooked burger just perfection and her crispy fries (large order) were perfect for sharing. This will be our stop in and out of town from now on when going to Ruidoso. Outstanding! Double meat burger was about a pound of meat. They use ground chuck. My wife got the chimichanga and that was also awesome. Space is a little tight inside (20 seats total). Small little place kind of a hole in the wall, so usually where you will find amazing food. Don't be mislead by the outside appearances of Julie's Place. It's tiny, but is well worth stopping by. Outstanding fresh beef burgers and fries worth going out of your way for. My burger was too large to finish, but I savored each and every bite. I'm guessing that they are 1/2 pound burgers. The fries were perfectly cooked to order--hot and crispy outside and soft inside.
