There is so much to choose from, including chicken items, rice items, noodle items and much more. The workers are kind and polite and keep an eye on the buffet to make sure it is stocked. This is not a small buffet, there is plenty to choose from. After your meal there are several flavours of ice cream to choose from. Definitely worth the money because there is so much variety. This may be the meanest review I'll ever write. Stop reading now if that will bother you. Was told once that if I can't say ANYTHING nice to say nothing at all...so here's the nice part. The place was clean and the staff was friendly, especially the cashier...of course knowing what they were dishing out her friendliness might have been the fake kind, like you might expect from a hospice nurse. We did not do the 'hot pot', just the buffet. Perhaps that accounts for other reviews giving more than one star. The first warning sign was all the chafing dishes at the buffet, except for the deep fried items, were nearly empty...with just a mouthful more than a single scoop in each. Of the nine items making it to my first and only plate...three were spitbacks and five were one-bite-and-dones...only the egg roll, which was almost certainly the boxed sysco frozen variety, got finished. They missed on most every basic expectation (even one already lowered for buffets). Tepid, not hot. Greasy. Obviously reheated. Overcooked. Oversalted. Change your frying oil. Every item had at least two of these fatal flaws. Every single one. My dining companion asked rhetorically, "how can you f@$k up a crab rangoon"? Well....see above. This was A PROFOUNDLY bad PTSD-inducing experience. And not cheap either. Cost cutting at the expense of the patron at every opportunity. In conclusion, it WILL make a turd, if you can keep it down. (It's nearly a turd already). A REALLY mean person might suggest that this buffet was so awful it could make a person change their opinion about American immigration policies. Act of war bad... On a random Tuesday night I got the buffet here. The steam tables had the staples. There were small portions available, which is fine. They were out there most of the time refilling items. The food was hot enough and not dried out. There were a few patrons and I could see that the kitchen was busy. I talked to a couple outside who were ordering online. I ended up here after listening to a co worker say the place down the street has the best egg rolls but failed to mention that they are not open for lunch on Saturday and I didn't check. China kitchen seems to do it all with take out, dine in menu, buffet with sushi and a Mongolian/hibachi grill all in one place. Since I was there I and not super hungry I didn't do the buffet and still wanted egg rolls, I ordered an egg roll and my favorite, Singapore noodles. The place itself looked pretty cool, clean, modern with neon lighting. The buffet looked like it had 5 stations with sushi to desserts and everything in between. The egg roll was not the great egg roll I'm searching for but it was better than average. The Singapore Mei Fun was ordered extra spicy and felt weighty so I weighed it and it was 2 pounds 4 ounces. The Singapore noodles is a thin rice noodle with beef, pork and shrimp with a curry flavor is the basic idea and the curry flavor intensity varies from place to place. The Singapore noodles were spiced up as I asked but the curry flavor one of the weaker ones. It was tasty with an ok amount beef, pork and shrimp but it was not the best or worst that I have had and I still have my favorite place. With that being said I found the place to be average because nothing really wowed but nothing was horrible. The lunch buffer is $8.50 with a drink and $10.95 for dinner as of my visit. read more

Ordered takeout for my husband and I, I got the sesame chicken and my husband got general Tao chicken and neither was correct. They basically have us the exact same entree of what tasted like orange chicken and just sprinkled sesame seeds on mine. I'll never order from here again. Very disappointed. read more

Went here later during the evening, all I can say is they never refilled the buffet area. They charged so much for a small buffet. Not worth the price, but the staff is very friendly. There's not a lot of variety, the only thing I like about this place is the sushi (they make them fresh) and the ice cream (many different flavors to choose from). read more

As far as China buffets go, I think this place is decent. They have all the normal hot stuff you'd normally see( fried rice, egg fy, orange chicken etc), but it's kind of nice cause they also have a [limited] sushi bar and a pretty hefty hibachi area. Like any buffet, of course the quality is lacking, but for $8 what do you expect? I thought the price was a good value for what they offer. 6 different flavors of ice cream btw and a FULL salad bar. Stopped in last Friday for lunch with 5 of my coworkers and we got one of the tables kind of off to the side with 3 walls surrounding it, providing a little bit of privacy for big groups! China kitchen doesn't look like much, not many cars in the lot but when you walk in you are welcomed by very friendly and helpful staff. My daughter and I didn't know what we wanted. We saw the Hot Pot and were interested but didn't want to spend $75 for the both of us. We went for the plain buffet but after looking around and weighing our options we decided to go back up to the front and splurge for the Hot Pot for the both of us. We got the split pot of the regular marrow and the other side was the tomato broth. I am not a picky eater, unlike my daughter. She doesn't eat seafood and we had a very helpful and kind staff member help us and show us the ropes of how to work everything. I took advantage of the all you can eat sea food and meat that came with it. My daughter tried some of the meats and mainly vegetables. The Hot pot also came with the normal buffet, dessert, and bottomless sodas or teas. It was a very cool experience but I only recommend if you are not picky and are a very adventurous eater. There were many cool vegetables my daughter and I have never tried that we both enjoyed a lot. We have been to this restaurant before before they had the Hot pot and it was just the buffet, we were in the area and decided to see if they were still open. We Came in and we were hooked. I'm happy we came in, it was great food and a fun experience for the two of us. They also had very kind staff that were patient, helpful, and friendly. I'm writing this one based on a take-out experience. What's up with Chinese restaurants around here closed until 4:00PM on Sundays? Maybe there is a reason, but the only choice within the immediate area to grab takeout was at China Kitchen in Germantown. The dining room underwent some renovations awhile back to accommodate a hibachi following. Typically known for their buffet (that looked good with peel and eat shrimp and a plethora of other tempting items) we chose take-out to get a feel for the land. Have you ever heard of placing an online order for Chinese take-out? I don't mean to sound discriminatory, but it was very cool to jump online and easily click, select, and submit an order. I would challenge any establishment to embrace technology to increase sales. They have it figured out. It clearly is helping them otherwise they wouldn't exert the effort. The hot and sour soup was really good. Tofu, tons of mushrooms, and egg whipped in a slightly spicy base. I would argue it to be the best north of MKE. Chicken fried rice seems to be a way to measure the calibur of food without spending a lot of money. If you can't cook rice good than you got some probs! Chicken fried rice was excellent. Lots of white meat, bean sprouts, veggies, and not dry. They know how to work a wok- I need to take lessons. I look forward to trying their buffet next time. China Kitchen is a good place to have a large group dinner. The big tables allow for great social interactions and privacy. The food for the most part is pretty good. Don't expect to be blown away by the food as it is more of an experience you are buying. They have a great ice cream bar which is tasty. My son's 11th birthday is today and his wish was to eat at his favorite restaurant-this venue. As we paid for our lunch buffet-$58!! for 2 kids and 2 adults, we asked if we could sit at one of the large tables with the booths like we always do. The young Asian woman and young white man adamantly stated we would not sit back there because that was for "hot pot" customers only. There was only 1 lady sitting at the small table to our left. All the booths were open. I stated it was my son's birthday, and that she knew us-we came here at least 3 times a year. My son loves the big tables-it's a good memory for him. It did not matter, they put a chair in the pathway to the large tables and told us "it would be too crowded if we let you back there." Rude as hell, no apologies. My husband started to confront them and I told him Google reviews are better. So, we sat at a normal table and proceeded to eat. Umm okay, this place has really gone downhill in the last 5 years we have been frequenting this establishment. My son kept stating his noodles were stale and the chicken was rubbery-he wasn't wrong. I had both and I agree. This is also the 2nd time the soda is carbonated water with little syrup in it-a way to save $$. I complained to the waitress last time and she apologized. I thought they would have fixed this since this was 6 months ago, but nope. My son goes to the bathroom and states there is no hot water AGAIN like last time-another way to save $$$. We all kept our coats on because there is no heat in this venue. This will be our last time frequenting this facility since they are overcharging for lackluster food as well as skimping on the sodas. BUT the ultimate reason is to not allow loyal customers to sit where they normally do all because those seats were for Hot Pot customers. I will note that the entire time we ate and while we were leaving, NOT 1 CUSTOMER SAT AT THOSE TABLE BOOTHS. Was it worth it to deny a seating request to lose 4 loyal customers who will spread the negative review about your restaurant? By the way, thanks for saying Happy Birthday to my son (they did not) and making him feel so special on his day (HE wanted to come to your restaurant). There is a take out door and a buffet door. I didn't realize that, so I looked at the guy behind the counter. He looked at me. I looked at him. He looked at me. I said, "One for the buffet." He said, "You have to go over there." Awkward. So, once seated I had the most incredibly friendly waitress who was brand new to her job. She got an A+ for how friendly she was to the customers who were tossing off bizarre questions to her for most of the time I was there. The food was wonderful. I go to a lot of Chinese buffets and I look for cleanliness, freshness of the food, variety of the food and the tastiness of the food. China Kitchen excelled it all of these measures. The mixed wonton soup was excellent, very tasty broth and too-die-for homemade wonton noodles stuffed full of the good mix. I have been going to this place for 10 year and have always had good experiences. They added a full buffet and sushi and mongolian grill (which they advertise as hibachi, but it is not a sit at the grill experience, more of a put your ingredients in a bowl and hand to someone who cooks for you, then you take back to your table.) My two visits to the new buffet were very forgettable, but to be fair, I am not sure I am really a fan of premade banquet/buffet chinese food. My family has continued to make this our carry out choice and we firmly believe the food is just as good as it was before. I would suggest the Mei Fun and the Lo Mein... both great choices. They are also good with spicy dishes. They also do a great job on steamed pork dumplings. I never thought their egg rolls were very good. I would say either order off the menu or take it carry out, but skip the buffet. read more

My dad called me and said that some of the family was going to this place for lunch, so I joined. I had never been there before, so I was not thrilled when I walked in and saw that it was a buffet. However, I was already there and I wasn't about to turn down a free meal (thanks dad!). As I looked around, I saw a mongolian grill and sushi, as well as the standard buffet. Keeping in mind that I was in Germantown, my expectations were not that high. But, I grabbed a plate and headed over to the sushi. It looked decent so I started loading my plate up. I passed on the Mongolian grill. Then I started to make my hot food plate. I wasn't too awfully impressed by the hot food items. It was lunch so the food was probably pretty fresh. I wish that I could say more, but it was a Chinese buffet in the suburbs. What can I say? If it means anything, I didn't have the urge to vomit when I was looking at everything. And it all tasted pretty good. For dessert, they had about 8 or 10 different tubs of hand scooped ice cream. That was yummy. I wouldn't go out of my way to return. This is a wonderful place to eat. It is about 26$ (w/ tip) for two, to eat dinner here (ca. 6th of November 2012). It is wonderful. It has basic American-Chinese food, Sushi, as well as plain ole American food. It give's to all. It actually get better every time you go. The wait staff is extraordinary! Their English is kind of shaky, but who's isn't. My English is horrible!!! However, they are really nice, after the fifth time going. They get to know you.
