OMG! Worst Experience Ever! We went back to Emperor's Kitchen, where the food was usually really good. I always get the Sesame Chicken, but this time, it lacked not only flavor but also light when normally the color is dark, rich, savory, and visually appealing. The quality has gone downhill, and I was extremely disappointed. I didn't say anything to our waitress regarding my disappointment, but I did mention how horrible my assistant's meal was. My producer's meal was Chicken with Pea Pods, which came out cold; it appears this meal was prepared before all the other meals we received were, she took one bite and said that she couldn't eat it. Another person who was in our group said that her meal was just ok with no further comments, but she did say that she wouldn't be a return customer after frequenting this establishment for many years prior. When telling the waitress that the meal was cold and she didn't want it, the waitress called the manager over; he appeared to be a family member of the owners, but I had never seen him before. He approached us and asked what the problem was. My producer explained, and he replied that he would go reheat it, and my producer said she wasn't hungry anymore. He then picked up her "cold" plate and threw it in the garbage right in front of us (garbage can by the front counter). He then came back and grabbed the bowl of rice, which was served separately, at which time I said I would take the rice rather than him throwing it out, and he said "NO" and proceeded to throw it out. I was going to pay for the extra rice; I don't want something for nothing. Even when I review restaurants, I refuse to be compensated; I don't want to feel obligated to give good reviews just because I didn't pay for something. Upon paying for the meals, the "MANAGER" was very mean, the waitress, owner, and he were talking in Chinese and all looking at us in disgust. I won't be going back to Emperor's Kitchen. This place has gone downhill, and it's so sad because I used to love this place, it was my go-to for Chinese food, but not anymore.

First time and the food was good. The menu states everything made to order as it should be at a restaurant like this. The "House Special" was delicious and had a decent amount of meat. Saw the table next to us ordered egg rolls and they were huge. Can't wait to go back and try one for myself. Downside is they charge an extra 3.5% if you use a card so bring cash.

Food quality seems inconsistent. We go often for specific dishes and we can't count on it being good

A friend brought over food from Emperor's Kitchen. It was the best Chinese food I have had in a long time.

The restaurant is in a tucked away strip mall and is modest in size and decor. The strip mall also contains hidden treasures like a Chinese bakery/BBQ and an Asian store. We went early on a Saturday evening with friends. The service was excellent, although with some staff there were language hurdles. No matter - everyone made it work and we were left with an abundance of amazing food at a reasonable price. Wine and beers are served, as well as smoothies and other non-alcoholic drinks. BF ordered crab rangoon as a starter, which was good. He liked it more than I did, but it was nice and crispy. I just didn't think it compared to other dishes. My vegetable egg roll was very good as well, but nothing terribly unique. He went bold on the entree and ordered the pork intestine and blood cake dish. He really enjoyed it and said it was quite spicy. The portions are generous and he did bring a lot home. I ordered the homestyle tofu, which normally has pork. I got it without to make it vegetarian friendly. The textures were very good and the sauce was intensely flavorful, but mild. I also ordered a supplementary dish of braised mushrooms and Shanghai greens. Everyone at the table enjoyed this dish, particularly the greens, which are a variety of bok choy, called pac choy. The mushrooms were wonderful, with the texture of wood ears. I also had plenty of leftovers to eat the next day. Our friends ordered the Szechuan spicy pork dumplings and they got rave reviews. My cousin did say they were not overly spicy. She went on to order the sizzling black pepper beef, which she said was good, but not nearly as unique or deeply flavored as the other dishes. Her husband ordered the pork intestine with clear noodles, which he enjoyed but said was extremely spicy. He did leave a lot of sauce behind since it was so hot. He also had the ox tendon and maw in spicy sauce, which came with chopped peanuts on top. He seemed really pleased with that dish. We agreed that we would happily go back to explore the menu more. Everything was excellent and I thought the prices were generally quite reasonable, especially for the quantity of food. I do wish the menu had more descriptive text, so I could familiarize myself with the dishes. The choices are many and overwhelming and the menu is huge. I'd also love to see a symbol for vegetarian options since it's very hard to know otherwise and many of the vegetable dishes included pork or other meat. As we left the restaurant was getting increasingly busy with people waiting by the door for seats. This is a popular place for good reason.

It seems…read morethey are always busy, but the staff also does a good job getting guests seated, managing the wait list, getting food served and tables turned without rushing the guests. The Spicy Pork Dumplings have become my go-to appetizer, and the fried spring rolls are also very good. On a most recent visit, we ordered hot pot. Our server brought us the sheet to make our selections. You can choose from mild broth, spicy broth, or half tray of each. The spicy is pretty hot with lots of red chili peppers soaking in it, so I scooped out the chili peppers to keep rhe flavor but lessen the impact on my palate. For 2 guests, I recommend choosing 3 items from the list, maybe 2 protein and one veggie or 2 veggie and one protein to start. You can order more if you finish and need more. This is in addition to the two appetizers you will choose, which is included with rhe hot pot dinner. It's a great value! Sze Chuan remains on my short list of go-to's for Chinese dining, and I look forward to my next visit, whenever that may be.

The staff was a bit hard to understand and when I explained we were first timers, she slowed down her speaking a bit and that helped. Be prepared to order you full meal right away as they then prepare the ingredients in the kitchen for preparation at the table. It appears to be traditional to be entertained by the chef, which we did expect, however I was not prepared to have a broccoli launched at me without warning. We each were hit in the face which was not a lot of fun. Maybe we could be asked first next time? I know many people enjoy this but we were in the middle of a conversation when the food started flying. Kids will love this! The food was prepared wonderfully well. A medium rare steak was perfect as was the medium one requested. A quick and efficient prep was impressive and there was a large amount of food on our plates before long. They have a happy hour that is really reasonable, M-Th 4:30-6:00. We will also be back to take advantage of that option. You can choose to sit in the traditional dining room or the hibachi area. We really enjoyed the hibachi option just for the pleasure of watching our food being prepared well in front of us. Plenty of parking in this relatively innocuous building near the mini-golf place. But it is worth a visit. The food is worth the reasonable prices.
