We ordered takeout. Price was good, good amount of food, overall the meals were tasty. 2 downsides- The general tsao's chicken and the crab rangoon's were so sugary sweet (not desired). I really wanted take out one night, and I had read really good reviews for Chen's so I figured I'd give it a try. To start, the person who brought us our food was extremely nice. He was very kind and thanked us for our business several times. I ordered the Crab Rangoon, Shrimp and Broccoli, and an order of the Spring Rolls. To start, the Spring Rolls were probably the best thing out of everything I ordered, but nothing special. The Crab Rangoon was SO SWEET. Like it tasted almost like dessert icing inside of the deep fried shell. I took a couple bites to try and figure out what it actually was and then couldn't eat anymore because of how sweet it was. Finally, the Shrimp and Broccoli was disappointing. The sauce it was in was so watery that it was unappetizing to eat. This is something I get all of the time when I get take-out, but I've never had it where it was so runny. Usually there's more of a thickness to the sauce it's in. It just wasn't what I had expected. I felt like it was a waste for the money I had spent on dinner that night which was disappointing. Overall, I feel like this was maybe an off night considering the rest of the reviews. I requested my order gluten free. Within two minutes or placing my order, they took the time to call and speak to me about gluten free options for my food. My family & I order our dinner on Saturday June 19th @ 5:30p which was our first time. Once we pulled up; the business had clear signage outside for customer's to call in their order & someone will bring your food out after you text or call once arrive. The service was great, the guy was friendly that took our order & brought the food out. We ordered pint chicken fried rice, 2 quarts of shrimp fried rice & fried chicken. All our food was made to order & prices are reasonable as well which range from $5-10 depending on what you order. We did try their eggrolls & springs rolls (mini spring rolls not normal sized) & we did not like the taste of either. We were very pleased & excited to finally find a great tasting Chinese restaurant near us & know which items to order for our next visit. read more

I Chen's is the best in the Menomonee Falls area. They are super friendly, food is great and it's very clean. Their beef in black pepper sauce and any of the menu items that is in spicy salt (squid, pork, chicken, fish) is amazing! Must try. read more

COVID UPDATE! If I could give this place 10 stars I would. It was closed for awhile during COVID but we're so happy they opened back up. You pull up, text, and they bring it out. Wish i could give it 0 . Have yet to find good chinese jn MKE but this is the worst. Ordered an egg roll, hot and sour soup, crab rangoon and shrimp with broccoli in brown sauce, extra spicy. And a container of sweet and sour sauce for the crab rangoon. Egg roll - burnt on one aide, doughy in the other. Crab rangoon - over cooked with no filling. And jo sweet and sour sauce. Hot and sour soup looked like it had been cooking for days, was boiled down to thick syrup and a ton of diced carrots with little else. No meat, tiny chunks of dark brown tofu, next to no mushrooms or other vegetables. And then... shrimp and broccoli in a super bland, white sauce. Not one freakin thing was passably edible. Easily the worst take out chinese i have had in 20 states. Needless to say, won't be back. If anyone knows of a place by Menomonee or Wauwatosa that is decent, please reply. I cannot believe I have not Yelped Chen's yet! I have been here almost a dozen times and received delivery once, and it has always been good. I would like to give it 5 stars but I have to try more than 2 dishes, but I am hooked on the egg rolls and the giant lunch special is at least two meals in one. So far the chicken lo mein and beef with black pepper sauce have outstanding. I'll try additional dishes in the near future and add the fifth star for sure. Also, their hot and sour is also on point, and you receive a pint of it for $3.50 I believe. I have never dined in, but there is a lot room in the main dinning area as the restaurant looks cozy from the outside. If you order take out more than once, don't be surprised when they ask if this is for "you", as they record your number and place a name with it, nice touch if you ask me. I am thinking Chen's will be what I will be having for lunch tomorrow. Check them out if you haven't already. read more

Favorite Chinese spot in the area. Sesame chicken and sweet and sour chicken are some good Americanized favorites to chose from. If you like spice try the Red Pepper chicken (I get Extra spicy) and eat it with some soy sauce and rice. We always order the crab Rangoon which are sweet, savory, and crispy. My favorite appetizers are the meat egg rolls. Somehow these egg rolls are always extra crispy, even when ordering for take out. The last order we placed I had the walnut shrimp with broccoli. It wasn't too sweet and the broccoli balanced the dish out. The creamy sauce was rich and filling. Every time we order we always try something different! read more

I tried Chen's strictly on the basis of its Yelp reviews - everything else in the area is rated below average. We ordered pickup to enjoy at home which can sometimes be hit or miss as the food settles and gets reheated, but everything for the most part was okay. First impression? The dining area and kitchen look really clean from what we could see. Had to ask for silverware and condiments which should be obvious with to-go orders. Beef & Broccoli - crisp veggies, soft meat, and loaded with flavor. Our favorite of the items we ordered. Shrimp Fried Rice - Good flavor, but funky texture (mushy and grainy) and scarce mini shrimp. Crab Rangoon - What crab? Just cheese/cream in a crunchy wonton. A little disappointing as it lacked substance and was overly sweet. A little scallion or crab would have gone a long way. We ordered in the middle of a snowstorm and they said business was slow, so perhaps our experience isn't consistent with their usual standards? In any regard, it curved our cravings and I'd come back just for the Beef & Broccoli... the sauce was so good! The rest is forgettable. The price is a little steep given the quality. read more

No doubt in my mind that this is the best and most authentic Chinese in this area! They let you choose your spicy level and it's on point, who wants something "spicy" but has to put sriracha on to get it to where they want? Nobody that orders from Chen's... Chen's has become my favorite Chinese restaurant in the general Milwaukee area. My initial rating was five stars and it continues to be five stars. The restaurant is small and the atmosphere is warm and pleasant. They offer a great lunch menu for a very reasonable price. There are so many wonderful dishes on the menu that it's hard to choose. The egg rolls are the very best as well as their appetizer plate. All items are prepared to order and are served hot, and all are DELICIOUS. The staff is always welcoming and ready to make your dining experience a pleasant one. The customer service is wonderful. My son lives in another state and when he comes home, this is one of the first places he wants to dine at. His favorite is the fried rice with lobster tails! And when I dine there the owner always asks about him and how he's doing. They also have a full take out menu if you would rather dine at home. And they do an incredible take out business. We were traveling and got to our hotel late. Usually, local Chinese food manages to be a sure bet. However, the walnut glazed chicken (which I ordered based on a review on this site) was absolutely inedible. White sticky sauce on undercooked chicken with four walnuts on top and raw broccoli underneath in a quart carton. Unidentifiable as prepared food. I am sorry but cannot recommend. read more

This was the first time ordering food from Chen's and the food was some of the best Chinese food we have ever had! As an FYI, we ordered Moo Shu Pork, Mandarin Chicken, and Vegetable Egg Foo Young,and the spiciness was nice and hot! We had ordered the food extra spicy and Chen's did not disappoint! We also have plenty of leftovers! The only thing I would have done differently is ordered an extra sauce for the Moo Shu Pork. There is never enough sauce for five pancakes!
