The food was great!! Hot and fast! We ordered hot and sour soup and egg drop soup. Both were good but the h/s soup was a little better probably because it had more flavor. All of our dishes met our expectations but the General Tso's Tofu exceeded our expectation. The other dishes we ordered were chicken lo mein, Mongolian chicken, beef with broccoli ( the beef was very tender) and shrimp fried rice. It was a take out order and they accidentally forgot the shrimp fried rice. When I came back to get it they gave us an order of Crab Rangoon which was delicious with a generous amount of dipping sauce. We will be back! read more

China Lee is the worst Chinese food I've ever eaten!!! Save your hard earned money, and go anywhere else to eat!! I was given something I didn't even order; and it tasted awful. The large beef fried rice was $11.95, it had about 5 pieces of beef init. I ordered another dish, lo mein noodles with beef and mushrooms; I didn't get any beef, no mushrooms, and what they did give me was onions and noodles for $14.95!!!! During an impromptu trip to Knoxville, I had ordered China Lee through DoorDash, knowing it could be a hit or miss. I ordered the beef and broccoli dish as well as egg drop soup. I've eaten at a lot of Chinese places before but this one had one of the best beef and broccoli dishes I'd ever eaten. It was perfect consistency and temperature, as well as plenty of ingredients to ensure you get full! The egg drop soup I heated up later and it was delicious as well. I've always enjoyed the veggie lomein, but tonight I tried the General Tso's tofu, and it was amazing! They bread their tofu so the sauce sticks to it. 10/10. My partner is not vegetarian, and he enjoyed the chicken, lomein, and egg roll as well. read more

I have tried the China Lee take out twice now. The price is fair, portions are plentiful, but taste and quality are average. Its not bad, just not very good. We picked up 5 entree's and none of us finished the leftovers. The egg rolls are crispy and better than average, the hot n sour soup...I'll pass on next time. Location is less than 2 miles, so Ill probably give it a 3rd try when I'm in a hurry, but will not be my go to option. Knoxville has several Chinese/Asian to go options. My regular supplier of this delicious cuisine, changed ownership and has gone way down hill. So I'm on the hunt for a replacement. Unfortunately China Lee isn't it. read more

Absolute hidden gem of a restaurant. The employees are very nice and understanding, and the food is to die for. I ordered the Orange Beef combination (fried rice and egg roll.) The orange beef was covered in a delicious, moderately spicy, citrusy sauce. And the beef itself? Perfectly cooked. I can not begin to imagine how good the orange chicken must've been. The fried rice was great. It was pork fried, which added another layer to the flavor profile. The egg roll was an egg roll, though a pretty good one. I'm not a huge fan of egg rolls in general though. On the wall, they claim to have the best dumplings, and they're right! The sauce is, if you can you believe it, MORE delicious. I ordered the ginger shrimp combo, my husband has the beef and broccoli combo and Small chicken fried rice for my daughter. I didn't expect much but the food was actually very good and flavorful. I was impressed and equally satisfied. The customer service was great. Although we came in close to closing, the staff were friendly and accommodating. We even got a free 2018 Chinese calendar. Ordered through Door Dash because I was at a Hotel. Tired from traveling all day and just needed something to eat. Its always a crap shoot when ordering out when you're not familiar with the area. The food got here in an orderly time and that was great right? No not really, because there was no utensils.Was I supposed to eat it with my fingers. I called the business and they said well the door dash driver was supposed to put that in there. I'm sorry but I really don't suppose that the driver was going to bag up the food and attach the receipt. Come on people just admit you screwed up. Love this little place. we are here at least once a week during the winter. I always order the food but take home extra soup for cold days. we always joke that we have so many of the take out containers we need to bring them back for refills. I love its a mom and pop place, the food is always good. Cant go wrong and haven't found a better place. We are very lucky to have them so close to home. love it. read more

Its just a basic walk in chinese placed place in a nice residental area. Its nothing to brag about. My noodles were a tad bit salty but it was still eatable. They had great prices and it was clean. My only problem is that they had like 4 people behind the register and no one greeted us when we walked in, Their attitudes were dry. I also think there was an english barrier about where is the menu and the guy just starred at my friend. My son and my friend enjoyed their food although my friend did mention there wasnt enough curry sauce on her chicken curry dish. read more

Went here the other night after work since they were close. The Plaza was dead and I thought they were closed, but no they were open. Walking in its spacious and has a buffet table (Guess this is used during the day or earlier at night) as well a some tables. I ordered a General Taos dinner and a Kung Pao dinner as well as a side of white rice and a soda. The dinners included fried rice and an egg roll. Within 15 min I had my food and was on my way home. Both dinners we got were suppose to be spicy, but neither my boyfriend or I thought they were spicy. I actually think it could have been kicked up a little more, from a 3 to a 8. Other then that they were both really good and the egg rolls were hands down a favorite. The servings were big enough to have left overs. Overall we were really impressed how good everything was, best we have had yet since moving here. The total was $21.06 which I thought was a great deal for 2 dinners, a side of rice which was huge and a soda. They do have lunch specials and we hope to try them again soon. read more

I arrived a little before noon and the placed looked kinda empty, which made me think there may be a better place for lunch. The buffet is small, none of those weird little dessert cakes that all the other Chinese buffets have. Ask for your soup, it is included. Boy, is the food fresh and fantastic! Their seafood casserole with the krab and cheese was the best I've ever had. Generally, you take your own dirty plates to the bin the the back, which is ok. The place is packed full during the work week lunch hours, which made me think they must be consistently awesome for a cheap Chinese buffet. I'll be back again and again. Bring your own drink. They will grin while telling you they ONLY have bottled drinks. No tea or water. They then charge an OUTRAGEOUS price for a frickin 16 ounce, NOT EVEN 20, bottle of water! Then their lunch special does not even include a frickin egg roll OR soup. The food is just meh at best. Its not terrible but it certainly is NOT good. I would only eat here if you have a short lunch break and work nearby if that gives you an idea of what I think of the food. Since there are no drinks there really is no service to speak of other than the lady clanking pans around while you eat in the silent restaurant (no music or background noise of any kind). So in summary, if you are tired of eating mcdonalds and want chinese and have to go to this place because of your location expect one notch above anything being bad. read more

Last night I went to China Lee and ordered a sweet and sour sauce meal. When I open the sauce, a ant crawled of the sauce. Immediately threw it away. I got the Mongolian beef combination (pictured) and my boyfriend got the sweet and sour pork combination. The pork fried rice tasted like it had been frozen for a long time and the vegetables in it looked like they were nearly dehydrated. The sweet and sour sauce was more water than sauce. My Mongolian beef was more onions than beef and the beef itself, tasted like jerky. The pork for the sweet and sour was more batter than pork. And, once we got home (we ordered takeout), we saw that the soup we ordered, wasn't in the take out bag. Overall, not somewhere I would go back to. It's no wonder the employees (who were sitting in the dinning area, bored without any other customers) looked at us like we were crazy when we walked in. read more
