Amazing service, seems like the inside has been updated some with Asian decor. The Hot and Sour soup was delicious, but the spring roll and General Tso's chicken was lacking in flavor/salt. I'll be ordering their Hot and Sour soup when I'm in the area!

Plum Tree has been one of my go to spots since 2012. The food is average, the people are friendly, and the prices are reasonable (this was key when I was in school). The building is not the most elaborate structure, but it does have a homey feel inside. * I came here recently and ordered shrimp with lobster sauce, fried rice, and hot & sour soup. The soup is always good. It's not really hot (spicy) but it is good. The shrimp with lobster sauce is just average. The diced vegetables taste like they're from a frozen bag and the sauce is just ok. Not really sure that I can say it taste like lobster sauce. The fried rice was blah...but the taste was better with a little lobster sauce and a bit of soy sauce. * I'm probably a little bias and overrating the place since I ate it so much in school. I just have to stop by Plum Tree whenever i'm in Knoxville.

Sunday ... that is the day to go to Plum Tree. A married couple from Laos bought this restaurant a little over a year ago and have given it much more flavor than in the past. The Pho, which is a Vietnamese noodle soup, is prepared with noodles, herbs (such as cilantro and basil), and served with beef broth and is a great choice. The Pho is typically an entree style soup, so be careful not to over order. The sweet basil shrimp and the schezuan chicken are other good choices for entrees here. However, note to self that the schezuan is not visually stimulating, but tastes quite good. They also have sweet tea, which is very refreshing! The only thing that I would not order is green curry. The sauce they had for green curry looked more like a watered down pea soup, rather than the creamy green curry it should be. Definitely go visit Plum Tree it is inexpensive and good!

It was not clean. The food quality has slipoed quite a bit. There are much better Chinese restaurants in the area.

This restaurant is an overlooked gem. The Malaysian dishes are great and uncommon locally. Go for the food, not for the decor.

My mom said Asia Kitchen is the best Chinese in the city now. Unfortunately if that is correct, then it makes me very sad. I have eaten at "Real" Chinese restaurants before and this is not close imo. I got Szechuan Beef...this is supposed to be a very spicy dish. My order was not spicy at all...not saying it was bland, but it didn't have the "kick" I was expecting. My mom shared a whole steamed fish with her friends. They did enjoy it, but it wasn't for me. I have decided to bump my rating up to four stars because of the wonton/egg drop soup. I didn't even realize this was a thing. We got one large serving and it was plenty for the table. Finally the reason i didn't give 5 stars was because of the table service. The others brought wine , but i ordered a Diet Coke when we were seated. Unfortunately it never arrived...our server acknowledged my order, but I guess she forgot during the dinner rush. I did have water so I didn't complain. Overall dinner was ok...it was very nice that we were allowed to take our time.

We ordered a LOT so we could sample things- it was about $74 and around $84 after tax's and fees. Ordered was (also note combos include egg roll and either a type of rice Pelli mein): -Beef and broccoli combo white rice -Chicken lomein combo chicken fried rice -Egg drop soup -Extra egg rolls -Pork egg foo young -And moo goo with no mushrooms The eggs rolls are AMAZING! Would totally eat 10. Egg foo young was good and the sauce was interesting. It didn't taste like traditional brown sauce and had more of an almost sweet flavor but very slight, and the color was like chicken gravy and not even brown. Lo mein was good and had decent flavor, but border line bland. The white rice was nice and fluffy and not hard. As for the chicken fried rice it was very bland and very dry-super disappointed in that. Beef and broccoli combo with white rice was good and had good flavor. Food portions are small. The combination platters are not shareable so just a heads up. I would say overall the food flavor was decent but my normal Chinese place, there is a lot more flavor so I don't think we will be back as it wasn't quite worth the almost 40 minute drive to and then 50+ back home with traffic. But if you're close and want some decent inexpensive Chinese food-this is your spot to try! Oh and note if you're doing take out- you have to order and pay $1 for sauces. We got no sauces with our egg rolls and I noticed after you have to purchase them in packs. UPDATE: I have never in my life experienced such bad bloating! My brother and I both got sick after eating! We both look 8 months pregnant and have never experienced anything like it! Changed my rating to 2 stars!
