Normally we love this place but last night not so much. The atmosphere really triggered my tism last night. So many young kids, and that is not usually a problem for me, but I literally had to tell them I need to get past you because simply saying 'excuse me' wasn't working. The tables outside next to our parking place were so close and the folks sitting there eating acted like it was a problem when the driver of my car wanted to get in. So maybe move those tables a little further away so it's not an inconvenience for people eating and people trying to leave. The food was not as good as usual. Maybe it was because they were so busy but the pork bun was really just a bun. The amount of pork inside the bun was minimal, I am guessing less than a teaspoon. The house sauce on the counter I got for my pork dumplings was so salty that it was hard to eat them. The dumplings by themselves were phenomenal as usual but it was the sauce that was the issue. I am sure we will be back to get drinks to go but probably will not eat there again unless it happens to not be busy. read more

I of course had to have an order of Angry Pork Dumplings. If you must order one thing from the menu, these dumplings are it! They are massive and addictive. Savory and lightly chewy dumplings are filled with super tender and flavorful pork and topped with a flavorful spicy chili sauce, a creamy aioli and some crispy bits. My mouth is watering thinking about these dumplings. I also had the Grandpas Noodles. This phenomenal noodle dish had thick savory noodles swimming in a rich flavorful beefy broth mixed with super tender sliced beef, crisp bok choy and a large dumpling. Finally, I also tried the BBQ Pork Bun and Traditional Pork Bun. Both were doughy and filled with marinated tender pork. He sat and talked to us briefly and told us that he wants to put out the utmost quality and flavors that were reminiscent of his childhood. Man, I WANT THAT childhood. When something is that good you want to just keep eating it, you know you have stumbled upon something you don't find just anywhere. From the food, to the cleanliness and ambiance, to the service. Super cool murals on the walls and a cozy couch in the back (near their random cluttered desk they presumably do business on?). There is a straw, plastic ware, and condiment station for doctoring up your bobas and entrees. A chili based sauce and the house sauce (holy moly this is good!) are awaiting little plastic cups. We ordered BBQ pork buns (3 in an order), Grandpa's noodles, pork dumplings (3 in an order), and Masaman curry with chicken. As the name suggests, the dumplings are the star. I was thrilled one came in my noodle bowl, too. The pork buns we would not get again (pretty dry and not soft and fluffy as we are used to elsewhere). There was some heat but in a flavorful way, not a mouth scorching way. They were nicely filled and a great texture. I have never had steamed BBQ buns before so I can't compare. These were soft, chewy, and sweet and absolutely delicious . The prices were excellent. This is the kind of food I find so addictive! Sweet, salty, soft, chewy, crunchy, spicy... and affordable. The Lucky Taro tasted like taro milk tea mixed with the leftover milk from a bowl of lucky charms cereal marshmallows. Service was great as well. This is a cute little cafe type spot on Sevier Ave. It is bright and colorful inside and does have tables to eat there. There are quite a few things on the menu I want to try. I liked that there were some options that were less adventurous; my mom is a picky eater but I think she'll like the veggie dumplings and the spring onion noodles I got my food to go because I had somewhere to be but I'll def be back and take better pics. Update-- as promised, I went back and got better pics! Service is so friendly here. The people taking orders have been so cheerful both times I've visited. They had cookies available today, made by one of the employees. They were delicious! Better than a lot of bakeries I've been too. I tried the red velvet chocolate chip and the chocolate crinkle. To eat, I got the angry pork dumplings again and they were just as good as the first visit. I also tried the spring onion noodle. It was a larger portion than I expected and just simple, tasty food. This place is in a difficult location; currently there is a ton of construction that limits parking and walking options and makes the area confusing to navigate. The building itself has dodgy air conditioning, a fact that they disclosed quite clearly. I got takeout. It was ready with reasonable speed. My tea had ample fruit and an abundant tea flavor. The kiwi popping boba I added because I hadn't seen this option anywhere that I can recall had a bit of an odd chemical taste, so I just wouldn't order them again. Their menu isn't the most vegetarian-friendly, but you could ask for vegetarian chili oil with veggie dumplings (a kung pao fake meat entree was also available). And those dumplings did indeed look angry, covered in strongly flavored accoutrements. There was room for improvement, and they say they're working on the AC, but there were quality flavors to be had here, which is probably why it was packed. read more

The girl taking orders was very uncomfortable to speak with and it was just an awkward overall experience when asking about allergies and they even have a sign that says please let us know but she didn't seem to care and recommended items I couldn't eat.
