I really like Thai curry so this place was great! I had the red ped which is a stir fried curry dish and let me say the seasoning was perfectly spicy and not too sweet either. The rice could use some salt personaly, but if you leave it to mix with the curry sause at the end it is really yummy. I would say the decor is very average but you know the food is going to be good when you see a shop like this. The servers are very direct which may be taken as rude but I had a good time while I was there! If you have never had hot mustard on an egg roll I very much recommend by the way! :D I put in newer pictures of the menu as well since it seems their prices have gone up. read more

Visited for the first time since COVID started so it's been a while. I had moo shu. I ordered shrimp but I got pork and ate it anyway because they were busy and I didn't want to cause a fuss. The pancakes were ok, they were kind of thick compared to what I'm used to. My friend was with me and she liked her food. It was good, but I have had better moo shu other places. If I could give zero stars I would! Let me start by saying, I think I've only ever written one other bad review I usually only write positive reviews. But this one really needed to be said. First off I did an online order that had a substitution box under each item I ordered. I am gluten intolerant, so I order pud Thai which is typically gluten free, side note I've never eaten here but was at a family member's house and that's what they were ordering for dinner, also I wrote in the sub box GLUTEN FREE- rice noodles only and no soy sauce unless gluten free. Just trying to cover all my bases! We pick it up and open it all up. This "pud thai" strikes me as a gluten alert just by looking at it. We had also ordered a soup and an egg roll both not in the bag. So I call about the missing items and to confirm that the pud Thai was gluten free and I was put on the line with who I assume is the owner which she insisted she put the missing items in the bag and I let her know that it indeed they were not. She said just come back and said to just ask when we got back about the pud Thai being gluten free and HUNG UP! My sweet mom went in and spoke to them and her response was that they don't do any gluten free and it's not on the menu that it's gluten free. I called back to ask if it couldn't be made gluten free why not call the number I had to list and tell me that instead of making it anyway? I asked for a refund. She told me she was busy and hung up on me! I ended up having to go buy a different dinner for myself from somewhere else. Awful customer service! Other family members also were not impressed with their food! "Fried rice" was steamed rice with soy sauce that's it, soup that was so salty it was hard to eat, and sweet and sour chicken that was basically beef jerky is was so dry. I read a few good reviews about this restaurant; unfortunately, I didn't read enough. I ordered from them for delivery on a Saturday night hoping for some decent Chinese food. I ordered the usual egg rolls, crab Rangoon, sweet and sour soup (which reviews claimed was the best they'd ever had), beef with broccoli, and pad Thai with pork. The food was mediocre, at best. I have had much better pad Thai at other restaurants (it had a taste I could not identify and was not appealing), and I can honestly say the sweet and sour soup was not the best we ever had, plus it was very spicy. The delivery guy was very nice and didn't mind waiting while I checked to make sure our order was correct, again after reading the reviews. I arrived at this place not knowing what to expect, except for one thing. I knew that the guy who runs this place makes his own dumplings (aka pot stickers), which I LOVE! The parking lot is a mess around this area so you can easily find yourself in a maze on how to get there and where to park when there are not many spots. I walked into this place and the decor was somewhat generic. It is totally a hole in the wall. Since there are only about 6 tables you should plan accordingly and not get your hopes up if they are busy. I started off with the Oolang Tea, which was quite good and definitely warmed me up since it was cold outside. As I browsed over the menu I noticed it was an extremely large menu covering dishes from the vast region of the Continent of Asia. I ordered the Pan Fried Dumplings, aka Pot Stickers and there were 6 to an order. They were really quite good. Next time I will try and share them with someone else so I will enjoy my meal. Next I ordered the Hot and Sour Soup. I FINALLY found a place where I LOVED the Hot and Sour Soup. I didn't try the egg roll but I was told it was good. Next up was the Green Curry with Tofu and my friend ordered the Sweet and Sour Chicken. The Green Curry was truly amazing! I have not had Green Curry as good as this one in years. If you like curry dishes then you must try it here! I am very picky about tofu in any dish and here is was cooked to perfection, tender but not crumbly. You should listen to Janelle P. and I when we say, THE GREEN CURRY ROCKS! Once you are done with your meal you go up to the cash register and pay. I noticed while I was there they do a very large take-out business and they also deliver. That's a major plus! PS The prices are pretty cheap. Good for the diners, right? You should definitely check this place out and try some dumplings, green curry, and hot and sour soup while sipping on Oolong Tea. I guarantee the Curry will be worth it! Zhu Garden, my local american asian restaurant. Been going here for years. And trust me when I say I've had good and bad at this place. But tonight's order sort of just sealed the deal on this review. They have made some changes to the ordering process and it's not for the best. You can either get their menu to order through menufy or beyond menu. Depending on which link you choose. That's confusing enough. Their old website had complete descriptions of the items on the menu. That is gone with the new ordering system. Apparently so is the consistency with how they prepare the entrees. As I have ordered the same item over and over and each time it comes out different. This time it came with no sauce, no flavor just grilled undercooked vegetables and meat. No spice, no sauce, no flavor. To top that off, they completely left off a appetizer that I ordered and paid for. To be fair they did try to call me after I got home, my phone screened the call and no message was left. They must have realized that they either got my order completely wrong or had the left over appetizer sitting there. They do deliver, and if they had done the right thing and delivered the missing item this would have been a four star review. Tip, always check the bag before leaving this place. When it's good, it's really good. When it's not, you'll be as disappointed as I am right now. read more

I've ordered from here specifically because they carry shrimp egg foo yong. It's one of my favorite Chinese dishes and I wanted to make sure that it would be good. Someone on Google had posted a photo and it looked pretty delicious. So I ordered and I wasn't disappointed. The food was good but for the price I paid I'm not sure if it was worth it. The actual size of the three egg foo yong patties were kind of small. I called the restaurant to ask them to confirm if they made it because I wasn't seeing it on their lunch menu. The man said that it's only a dinner option because it takes so much time to make. Zhu is our favorite place for Chinese food in Knoxville. We travel 45 miles (one-way) to eat here about once a week. The place is super busy, mostly with take-out/delivery orders. The staff is extremely friendly. It's a family owned joint and they take pride in their food. If you want it extra hot, just let them know - they're happy to turn up the heat. This is one of our go to restaurants. It literally is a hole in the wall. During Covid they are not doing dine in, it's only take out. My two favorite dishes are the Thai masman curry and drunken noodle. The prices are unbeatable at lunchtime. Tai- one of the main men is super friendly!
