China Mama on Spring Mountain was an absolute jewel of a discovery! This was our first visit while searching for a great Chinese restaurant here in Las Vegas, and we were extremely impressed. The menu is very reasonably priced, with generous selections and excellent value. We ordered the crispy beef, and it was absolutely fantastic--crispy, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The hot and sour soup was beyond belief, packed with flavor and easily one of the highlights of our meal. We also shared the vegetable fried rice, which was amazing. My wife normally doesn't enjoy Chinese food nearly as much as I do, but even she couldn't stop raving about how delicious the fried rice was. That alone says a lot! We have been wanting to try this place forever but have been sleeping on going. Now my regret is why it took us so long!? The chicken chow mein, crispy beef and spicy wontons were next level in my opinion. My husband loved the soup dumplings and beef roll. What I loved most is you can tell they use real, good ingredients. We didn't leave there feeling weighed down or gross. I'm so happy that there's a Henderson location and I can get all these items there also. It's somewhere we will definitely be back! Perfect for family gathering, family style dinner, or when you are craving for some signature fried Chinese food. I have been told for years that China Mama was special. After one visit we agree. As you can see in the video my wife was practically licking the bowl lol. I have wanted Mapo Tofu for a long time but never pulled the trigger. It was delicious. Had that fermented funk from the Broad Bean Paste and silky tofu with minced beef and lots of oil and spices. Especially the Mala numbiness from the Sichuan peppercorns. It wasn't as numbing as the Verbena at the Chandelier Bar but spicy enough. We both loved it. Also tried their Crispy Beef which practically melted in your mouth. The Combo fried rice was good but probably unneeded as we took almost all of it home. We will be back for sure read more

I'm making my way through all the Chinamama locations - this is the first one I visited and is still my favorite so far. The first time we ordered the duck, fried rice, the salted egg yolk prawns, noodles, the eggplant (my favorite). I loved everything except the duck. I did not enjoy that as it was a little too far from the roasted duck I was expecting. The service is friendly for a Chinese restaurant and the food comes fast and piping hot and I really enjoy that you can see the chefs making your food. It really adds to the ambiance and know that your food is freshly made. After watching some videos of what other people liked to order, I decided to get the crispy beef and that single dish is life changing. If you order nothing else at chinamama, order the crispy beef. My friends and I came here for a Saturday since we were craving some Chinese food. Parking was a bit difficult to find, but we got lucky with a spot. We decided to get order a bunch of dishes to share among the five of us. We got the mapo tofu, Beijing beef, and other dishes that I can't remember off the top of my head. This one i liked better than noodle papa. Ive been here so many times but finally found the pics for them. Lol! Its super popular here for reasons I don't understand. The food isnt crazy flavorful but the dishes that I love, hits the spot every time. The won tons are good and my favorite scallion pancakes is just yum! The fried rice isn't too bad either. I don't come here often as I end up waiting a bit, but it has been years since I've been here. It feels like a place where you just eat quickly and leave even if sections of the restaurant looks fancy, i still get the feeling of that chinese rush. China Mama is my go-to spot whenever I am craving Chinese food in the Vegas area. While it is a primarily American Chinese restaurant, they have traditionally Chinese food choices that are sure to please all kinds of crowds. When I made a reservation for 10 people, they were accommodating to our group even when we were a few minutes late. It was a clean establishment and with excellent service. All the things we ordered were flavorful and I would order these dishes again. We did family style and ordered the following: Honey Walnut Shrimp, Mamas Special Fried Rice, Mama Mapo Tofu, Pork Joint Stewed With Rock Sugar, Beef Rolls, Crispy Pork with Mama Special Sauce, Salt and Pepper Fish, Green Beans and Soup Dumplings. Went to China Mama in Shanghai Plaza on a Wednesday around 5:30 p.m. I have been to the one at Palace station and I feel the portions and the prices were better here. The one in Palace station definitely feels more upscale, but this one was still really nice. The decor and atmosphere were really nice with high ceilings, comfortable seating, and a window where you can watch into the kitchen, which added a cool touch. One thing to know is that reservations are only available ahead of time for groups of six or more. Luckily, it wasn't too busy when we arrived. We put our name on the list and were about fifth in line. The wait estimate said 12 minutes, but we were seated in closer to eight. We ordered the Mama's Special Fried Rice, stir-fried green beans, salt and pepper pork chops, and honey walnut shrimp. The green beans and walnut shrimp were definitely the highlights for me. Both were really flavorful and cooked well. The fried rice was good, just not anything especially memorable compared to the other dishes. The salt and pepper pork chops were decent, but I personally would've liked them a little crispier and a bit saltier. Service was good overall, and the atmosphere made it a really enjoyable dinner spot. Definitely a place I'd go back to try more dishes. read more

I have been wanting to go to China Mama for so long. I finally made it and I was happy that all the recommendations were true. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted and seated. They were friendly and attentive. We ordered some appetizers. The pork soup dumplings. It was filled with a delicious broth. The pancake with scallions was simple but crispy and tasty. If you're looking for authentic and delicious Chinese food, you have to try China Mama! They have a couple of locations but this is the original they made some renovations which came out so nice. Everything came out pretty quickly. Make sure if you don't eat spicy to tell them prior. Mongolian beef was my favorite. The meat was tender and loved all the onions and green onions in it. Lots of food to share! China Mama is already a staple in Las Vegas so you know the eats were on par! Everything was really good! Crispy Beef was indeed crispy, even with that light sticky sauce on top! The Sauteed Eggplant with Pork and Mamas Mapo Tofu were so full of flavor, and excellent with a mound of steamed rice! The Salt and Pepper Pork Ribs were airy with a real good batter and seasoned just right. Mamas Special Chow Mein was tasty as well, lots of chunks of protein including chicken, beef & shrimp - with chewy noodles! There was enough food for the 6 of us to eat since the portions were generous, and we got extra rice to sop up all the extra sauce from the eggplant & tofu dishes! We came here because people said this was the best Chinese restaurant in Vegas. First and foremost, it's difficult to try all of the signature dishes especially in a group. Most of the dishes we got, I personally wouldn't have ordered them but I know Americans don't like breaking routine. With that said, when you come here make sure you get on the waitlist immediately. We ordered Chinese broccoli, pork soup dumpling, mapo tofu, fish fillet with ginger and green onions, Mongolian beef, crispy pork with mama special sauce, and crispy duck. The pork soup dumplings are decent but they're nothing compared to Din Tai Fung. I did enjoy the signature crispy pork with mama special sauce. I liked the texture and the flavor. Very savory sauce. The mapo tofu, fish fillet, Mongolian beef, and crispy duck were very average. It's about the same as back home, so nothing extraordinary. Prices are not bad because you do get a generous amount of food. Service was good, we were well taken care of. Overall 3 out of 5. Some of the dishes we got was Mapo Tofu, Orange Chicken, Fish Fillet Black Bean Sauce, Mama's Special Chow Mein, Mamas Special Fried Rice, Crispy Beef, Deep Fried Jumbo Shrimp in Special Sauce, Egg Drop Soup and Dry Pepper Chicken. I come to China mama about once per month. It has been my go to Chinese restaurant for years. This last time the shrimp cucumber dumplings is succulent subtle and delish. Mongolian beef is full of flavor and packed dish full. Wish their quality was consistently good as my prior honey walnut shrimp last time was hard as a rock, and overcooked. Reduced from 15/20ct to 30/40ct. My heart still love this place and understand food price has gone up. But I'd don't want to sacrifice quality if it means $1-2 extra. read more

When China Mama dropped their breakfast menu, I knew I had to go. The valley lacks places that offer Chinese styled breakfast (non-dim sum). My husband and I decided to check out their menu on a Saturday morning when their breakfast menu was still new. I think we got there at around 9AM and we were pretty surprised at how busy it was. Despite that, we were seated fairly quicky and was given the menus. Unfortunately, that was the only quick part of our meal. We decided to try several items: Century egg and pork rice porridge - aka congee. This was okay. I think their style isn't really to my preference. The pork they used was shredded versus the strips. The century egg typically is in bigger chunks but theirs looked like it blended in with the congee. Fresh soy milk - pretty good! They ask if you want sugar and they'll get it for you. They might take two business days to get back to you though. Jumbo Chinese cruller - aka Chinese donut except theirs is like three times the size of a regular one. You can dip this in soy milk to eat, dip it in congee, or just eat it by itself. Unfortunately, I did not think this was done well. The texture was wrong and it almost seemed like they overcooked it. Potstickers - pretty good. I'd say they were pretty normal, nothing out of the ordinary. Steamed pork buns - these were pretty good as well! Nothing out of the ordinary but good flavor and very comforting. The service was extremely slow. When we first sat down, there were only two people serving on the floor. Getting water took time, getting napkins took time, etc. They might not have expected such a crowd for breakfast. There were items that were sold out as well so I would recommend going early in the morning to get the option at the full menu. Overall, decent but I don't know if I would go back mainly because my favorite breakfast items are the Chinese donut and congee and the ones at China Mama were just OK. read more

Server greeted us as soon as we walked in and had us seated. The inside looks modern & classy. We ordered beef soup, crispy beef, chicken chow mien (soft), cauliflower on pot (no pork), sesame chicken, and of course steam rice. They used small pieces of slice beef instead of ground beef which was interesting. The aroma and taste of the cilantro in the soup was excellent! Our favorite surprising was the crispy pork and mapo tofu was our second. The restaurant is super clean and set up with Chinese inspo decor but also spacious and modern seating. We were a party of 5 and were seated right away. Our server took our drink order right away. After reviewing the menu we placed our order and our server was polite and took the orders with no issues. Within 5 min plates began to be delivered hot and tasty looking. First cane the Beef Rolls for the table. BOMB! It's like a flakier tortilla filled with thin cut steak and rolled up served with a dark hoisinish sauce on the side. I didn't even need the sauce bc it was so good all by itself. I think I was the most excited about this dish. We also ordered the Mongolian Beef, Fried Rice, Chowmein, stir fried vegetables and their famous Crispy Beef. EVERYTHING was SO GOOD! The Crispy Beef was really good. Definitely not diet friendly bc it breaded, super fried and then drenched in a sweet amd tangy sauce but it's oh so good.
