Garlic green beans, and crispy beef together on my plate, a match made in heaven
    Lydia V.

Popped into China Mama yesterday afternoon. The restaurant is located in the heart of Chinatown in Las Vegas on Spring Mountain Road. I found out they have several locations throughout Las Vegas, including one at the Palace Station Casino. The restaurant was very busy. However, they do have a bar and so I was able to be seated immediately at the bar where they provide full service. The restaurant is nice and has plenty of seating for large and small parties. It is a bit noisy, which cannot be avoided, given the crowd that was in the restaurant. The staff is friendly and they do a great job at clearing the tables and cleaning everything to get it ready for the next guest. The menu has a very good options however it is not as large as you would find in other Chinese restaurants. There are noodle dishes, rice, dishes, and of course, your standard Chinese dishes with chicken, pork, chicken, beef, duck, and lamb. I ordered a cup of hot and sour soup, crispy beef, and garlic green beans. The food was amazing. The dishes are à la carte so you will have to order noodles and rice, even steamed rice separately. My food was delicious. The hot and sour soup was silky and smooth, and had a lot of vegetables, and pork. The crispy beef was delicious, it was crispy yet soft at the same time and had a brown sauce that was not too saucy, and it was not greasy either. The best part of the meal was garlic green beans. From the moment those came out from the kitchen they smelled amazing.... The robust smell of the garlic made me more hungry. I definitely recommend this place. If you are planning to go, it is important that you plan your outing to avoid a long, wait time. And, if you're a party of one or two, you can always walk up to the bar. Enjoy!

When we come to China Mama we order the shrimp with special sauce. They never go as half off price for members and for me this is the only food in their menu that is worth for me to drive all the way to China town. They get the shrimp well and the sauce they used is tasty. We ordered crispy beef as well. This portion was so huge and is always huge. It was tasty and crispy, one time they served us not so crispy and it wasn't good. It had to be really crispy !! The service was great. Our food came very quick. Talking about quick they're quick !!! The ambiance is nice unlike other Chinese restaurants. The restaurant looks modern and well thought of.

I don't know why, but when Asian restaurants are in an area of town called "Chinatown," I expected them to be great. The reviews I read about China Mama claim this is a great restaurant. I didn't have that experience. I ordered the Crispy Beef and that was very good, a solid 8/10. However, the server recommended a combination noodle dish that was subpar. I thought it was strange the beef didn't come with a side of rice, so I ordered it. The rice seemed old, I mean days and days old. I also found it strange that the Hot and Sour Soup was neither hot, nor sour, and it didn't have any tofu. Is it just me, or does this soup normally come with tofu?! I'm glad I tried it, but I won't go back.

Great taste with deep flavor. Nice staff but sometimes too many too sarcastic jokes. It was the same waiter as our previous visit and definitely his style. But he should read the room as some in our party didn't take to some of the jokes. Restaurant is clean and service was efficient. Nice decor and ambiance.

I visited alone, sat at the bar and quickly learned that food and portions are served family style. I wanted it all, but ended up getting the fired beef. Very tender cooked beef and flavor. I wish I could have tried more items but that one serving was a lot with no space for another dish. The place was packed with a line out the door. Staff were helpful, the tea is on the house and the food comes out pretty quickly. I need to be back soon!

This China Mama is located in the Shanghai Plaza. We actually found out about this place from a YouTube video my husband watched because of the Ma Po Tofu and really wanted to give it a try! We went there a little before lunch so we did have to wait a little. The staff were friendly and I loved the ambiance. The food was so delicious and the portions are generous, we had to take home what we couldn't finish! We were visiting Las Vegas at the time and we will definitely be back for more the next time we're in town!

Wow, I don't know why I waited so long to try China Mama! I honestly thought it was just another chain restaurant, but now I understand why it's so popular. The honey walnut shrimp was my favorite sweet, tender, and cooked perfectly. The hot and spicy wontons could've used a bit more flavor, and the sizzling pepper steak was a little too salty for my taste. Everything else we ordered was delicious, though, and I'd definitely come back to try more of the menu.

    Honeyyyyy walnut shrimp!!! So yummy!

Came all the way from LA just to taste their fried bun and honey walnut shrimp. Did not disappoint at all. Everything we ordered was worth the drive! Even the smell of tea... hmmmm yum. Our host "K" was so very sweet. Will be driving up here again soon.

Mongolian Beef and the fried rice were delicious. Everything is served family style. Definitely worth a stop by if you are in the area.

So fun! Great ambiance, pricing and customer service. Busy shopping plaza but separation is possible when you walk in this establishment. The aroma is delicious, the menu items look delicious and the portions are large. I wasn't hungry but had dessert. My friend had a tofu dish and this is the image.

Dan Dan Noodles are my #1, big flavor!

I almost hate to review this place because then everyone will know how good it is and it will get too busy lol. 100% my favorite Chinese restaurant in the city. This location is quite spacious considering its location in Chinatown. The food is always made to perfection; my favorites include: the Fresh Shrimp Spring Roll, Wood Ear Mushroom Salad, Crispy Beef, Stir-Fried Green Beans, and the Dan Dan Noodle. I crave it at least once a week. And the portions are served family-style but its so good that I can sometimes finish them by myself hahah

Left to Right Crispy beef, salted egg yolk prawns, string beans
    Benny C.

I can see why this place is so popular and so poppin! The food here is absolutely delicious! I tried 3 dishes: String beans - Perfectly flash fried and seasoned. It has an indescribable flavor that's equal parts savory and equal parts addicting. Nice and crispy still and there was a tiny bit of chilis so it does have a very subtle kick to it. Salted egg yolk prawns - Good, the salted egg yolk was subtle but present enough to give off a creamy yet salty boost to the prawns. Solid dish overall. Crispy beef- This was my favorite dish. The beef was crispy and sweet. Every bite made me want to take another, and another, and another. IT's honestly extremely addicting. It seems to be flash fried and then a sweet sauce glaze is dripped over and refried. Excellent must try dish!

Came here on a Friday night with a group of friends. We joined the waitlist and were seated in around 20 minutes. We ordered a few dishes and shared them family style. The highlights of the night were the Crispy Beef and the Mapo Tofu. By itself, I could honestly eat the Crispy Beef all day, it was nice and crunchy with great flavor inside. The Mapo Tofu was really well made and went really well with their Jasmin rice. All the other dishes we ordered I thought were pretty average, but not bad. I'd recommend this place if you're craving some authentic Chinese cuisine

I ordered the BBQ pork rice bowl and the wonton soup, and both were absolutely delicious. The BBQ pork was flavorful, tender, and paired perfectly with the rice. The wonton soup was comforting, with a rich, savory broth and fresh, tasty wontons that really hit the spot. The restaurant itself is small, cozy, and full of charm. My first impression was really positive. The restaurant has a modern, stylish vibe, and the interior is beautiful. I also loved the tableware--the plates and chopsticks were really nice and added to the overall dining experience. We had a large group and reserved the private dining room, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The service was friendly and attentive throughout our meal. As for the food, it was decent but didn't really stand out, especially for the price. We ordered around 8 dishes (you can see them in my photos). The crab was a little disappointing because the meat was quite dry. On the other hand, the fried eggplant and the king prawn were both excellent and ended up being the highlights of the meal. The rest of the dishes were good, but nothing really wowed us or made us feel like we'd come back just for the food. Overall, I think you're paying a bit of a premium for the beautiful environment, modern atmosphere, and comfortable dining experience. If you're looking for a nice place for a family gathering or dinner with friends, this is a solid choice. The ambiance definitely adds to the experience, even if the food itself wasn't especially memorable.
