If you're in Vegas, this place is a must. Most restaurants are worth going off the strip for and this is one of them. Give or take 10 minutes just off the strip. We didn't get a chance to visit the last as there was so many concert going on the strip and traffic was a bitch. Monday night thinking that it'll be pretty easy to get a table. Famous last word as it was BUSY. There's a good amount of parking in the lot. That strip mall looks a bit deceiving as all the front doors are covered up and looks closed. Guess that's for the heat. Anyway, when we arrived there was about 8 people in line. There's no one there to mentioned to put your name on the list which was there. That shows how busy it was. Everyone working was trying to accommodate everyone. Even putting our name down for 3 people, it was about a 45 minute wait for a Monday early evening. There was a 2 big group that's probably why tables were being utilized. After they finished, it did move more smoothly with seating people. But there was about 20 people that was waiting around for their name to be called. I think about 8 did end up just leaving as it was quite a wait. Anyway, after we finally got seated, they did upgrade their menu. Food, pretty much everything you would expect at a Thai restaurant. Loads of options to choose from. Even with it being packed, the ladies were all very sweet taking care of everyone. Not a Thai tea lover as I don't like having anything sweet to drink so went with a regular ice tea, plain. Food, you have to have the papaya salad. They have both the classic Thai style and Laos style. Slightly different just with the fermented fish sauce. We added shrimp to it. They have a spice level from 1-5. We went with 3 but when we received it, it wasn't too spicy. Still delicious and a good portion with loads of shrimp. Entrees, the pork belly curry which was a first time trying. The curry was very flavorful and delicious and topped it off with fried pork belly. The crunchiness soaking up the curry was perfect with the steamed rice. Also the duo of pork belly and bbq pork with rice dish. Simple yet so good with the sweet and spicy dipping sauce with cucumber and hard boil egg. Lastly, the boat noodles. Anywhere that offers it I'm going to try. And I've had some bad dishes. Sen Thai is an authentic Thai spot in Chinatown! It's on Arville, pass the Shanghai Plaza on the right side. It's a hidden gem with delicious authentic Thai food. We started with the Pad Mama w/ crispy pork. Mama is instant noodles that they elevated! It was so flavorful and had the perfect amount of spice. Then we shared the Yen Ta Fo hot pot, surprisingly came without the flat noodles you typically get so it felt like a lighter dinner. The flavor was spot on with yummy seafood. While in the area we decided to try a new spot on my list, so Sen Thai Noodle was the choice. It's located in a small business complex right next to the busy Shanghai Plaza, so parking was a bit tight on the street. Immediately when we walked in we were greeted by the enticing aromas. After being seated in the main dining area we reviewed the menu, which has a good variety but definitely a bit higher priced than other Thai spots. There were quite a few other tables of diners, but it was relatively quiet. We ordered the Pad Prik King, Garlic Pepper and Thai Fried Rice, all with chicken. The first two dishes were at a spice level 4 (out of 5), no spice on the fried rice as it was mainly for a child in our party. The food was ready within 10 minutes and was plated well. For the price, the portions were smaller than other restaurants. The flavors were really good though. Although the Pad Prik King lacked that flavor punch from the kefir lime leaves, I really had to search for it. Spice wise, the 4 was a little warm but I could have definitely handled a 5. There's a sign near their pay window that says that they're 'not a fast food restaurant so please be patient' and I thought that was so cheeky. No one in my family had an issue with the wait time and the service was excellent. I really like when restaurants monitor glasses of water and make sure they are filled so that was a plus. I had to dock a star because the drunken noodles were not good! And Level 4 out of 5 spicy was not spicy at all! Just extremely salty. I don't know what they put in there... it was an adapted recipe to accommodate my gluten allergy. My partner is from Thailand and was so impressed by the spicy catfish batter and how the yentafo tasted pretty similar to what they had back in Thailand. I've never tried any of these foods before but, wow, the flavor profiles on everything we ate was top-notch. The Thai ice cream bun was sooo good. They sprinkled nuts over the coconut ice cream, and with the sticky rice on top of the bun, the taste and texture of everything surprisingly worked well. My partner said they haven't had Thai ice cream bun since they were in Thailand, and I hesitantly ended up offering some of my portion because I could tell they were eyeing my half It's been a few weeks, but I'm definitely craving Sen Thai again. Two of my friends recommended Sen Thai Noodle to me. They both said that the food was executed quite well and worth the visit. Therefore, I rounded up some friends and went in for dinner on a Sunday night. We had a party of 6 and were seated promptly at a long table. The establishment itself isn't that big. There were only several tables and wasn't busy the night we went, which was good for us. It means less waiting! We decided to order a few things to share: Pad thai with chicken - pretty decent. I think it could use more tamarind flavor but as far as pad thai goes, it's probably one of the better ones in the valley. The chicken pieces were decently sized and very tender. Drunken noodle with chicken - I think we got this at a level 2 or 3 spice but it didn't really taste spicy. Good flavoring, good amount of veggies, and overall solid dish. Massaman curry with beef - Great flavor profile as it has the sweet, the savory, and some spice. I think we also got this at a level 2 or 3 but didn't really taste spicy. Good amount of beef and potatoes in there and goes great with rice. Crab fried rice - decent. It's not the best crab fried rice I've had it town but definitely not the worst. It has a good amount of crab in it as well. If you like to eat spicy foods, I'd recommend eating this with pickled peppers or the fish sauce with thai peppers. Crying tiger - the grilled ribeye was cooked perfectly. It was tender and juicy. It also came with a thai chili lime sauce that had all the tasting profiles: sweet, salty, and spicy. It was absolutely delicious and my favorite dish of the night. Pad kana moo grob - crispy pork belly with chinese broccoli. Pretty decent but some pieces of the crispy pork belly were very dry. Custard toast (pandan) - I think this is just a giant block of toast with a thin pandan custard poured on top. I mean, it was delicious and another favorite. The toast was soft and it soaked up all the pandan. It wasn't too sweet and was a great ending to our meal. Overall, Sen Thai is decent. They execute the dishes well and the prices are pretty average compared to other thai establishments. Portion sizes are good and service was good as well. Authentic dishes and very affordable. This was the cheapest and most delicious food I've had during my entire trip in Vegas. We ordered a fresh coconut to start off as a beverage and the server asked "What is a coconut?"...we responded that it is a beverage on the menu. Not sure if she was trying to be smart or she was unaware it was on beverage menu...nonetheless the tone was unfriendly. As the server seemed overwhelmed from work level, we ordered quickly with minimal questions and informed server of all request after we order so we could have what we needed. She forgit the napkins, chopsticks,and condiments that were requested. Our noodle dish came out missing a side soup that was supposed to accompany it. The coconut beverage never came out. Informed another server to grab condiments etc., asked for the side soup, and to cancel the coconut beverage as it never came out and it was already mid meal. The check was dropped with an incorrect amout (it only included a $7 coconut which we did not get) Informed server that it was the wrong bill and it should be more. Food tasted good. Overall, good place. Food was pretty decent. I think my review is a bit skewed because I had a REALLY GOOD thai place a week before trying this one, so comparatively, this was underwhelming on the same dishes.
