I'm giving them 5 stars because the food and service is really good, even if they don't deliver... I've had delivery and the food isn't as good as this place. They can be busy - lots of walk ins and lots of calls while you're there waiting. It gets good reviews on other sites also and I picked this one over a couple others because it was a 5 star place! We were very happy with our food and will definitely be back. We had shrimp toast (a little dark but the flavor was there), a combo which comes with pork fried rice and a pork egg roll (really good, I haven't had good experiences with egg rolls in the last few years but this was good and i'd get one again), and moo shu pork---really yummy. Needs to add more plum sauce with to go orders! It didn't come with white rice like we've had at other places, but it's cheap to add, so would do that in the future. The overhead outdoor lights were out so we drove past it at first, glad we made a second drive by. The lights and everything were on inside. I feel like I should give other places a try but I hate to be disappointed in case it isn't as good as this China 1! read more

This is my favorite Chinese take out in the Clearwater/Largo area. A dinner combo is $8.09 which includes an egg roll, pork fried rice and select entree. The pork fried rice has generous portion of pork and the rice (which is yellow) is not soggy. I usually get the chicken cashew or the bourbon chicken because it doesn't have excessive breading. I wouldn't recommend the orange or sesame chicken though. Otherwise China 1 (next to Publix at the shopping center at East Bay and Belcher Rd) is my go to when I crave Chinese food. read more

The other order Moo Shu Chicken was partially edible but would not be something to be ordered again. Eh. It was okay. Hot and sour soup and the rice tasted a bit on the "barn-yardy" side, due to the ham. I ordered Gen Tso Chicken, but got Orange Chicken. It was dry and chewy. I love this place. It's simple, fresh and delicious. This is not a sit down restaurant... I mean you COULD sit down and eat if you want to but it's pretty drab inside. Who cares! The food is great. Nothing fancy or booshy, no hipsters, no frills, no pretentiousness. Just really good Chinese fast food. They can make the hot and sour soup with vegetarian broth and it's super delicious. I think they have the best hot and sour soup around. Also, I don't know how they do it but their plain lo mein is amazing too. It's literally just noodles and sauce. That's it. But it's delicious. I've been buying food from this take-out restaurant for 15 years. It used to be good most of the time but lately I think they have different cooks every time I order. I always order the same thing, Moo Goo Gai Pan and it's totally different each time. One time it's loaded with MSG, next time garlic, next time no seasoning at all. With all the great reviews I was so hopeful to finally have good food. But some dishes where good others not so good. Egg rolls bland and mostly wonton wrapping. Crab Rangoon pretty good but the accompanying sauce ketchup based and just sweet no real flavor. General Taos chicken really over deep fried. Hard and dried out. Other entree Beef with vegetables was really good and Lo mein plain boring and dry. Nothing special and not really cheap either. read more

The vegetables were frozen they weren't cooked all the way. The rice had a weird smell to it like it's 4 days old. Chicken didn't have favor. I ended up taking a couple bites and my stomach even got upset. I will never go here again!! read more

The food here is always really good, and the people at the counter are always very nice. However they are so damn slow. I placed a order at 6:30, and was told a 45 minute wait. I had almost given up on finding a good Chinese takeout spot until moving to the Clearwater/Largo area six months ago and discovering China One! I order from them at least a couple of times per week and have never been disappointed. They're very friendly and accommodating to making minor modifications or substitutions to their dishes. Their prices are slightly higher than the average Chinese place, but it is worth it for me and the portions are generous so no complaints there. Finally, a Chinese place in Pinellas County that knows how to cook tofu (clue: you put it in a pan with oil and turn on the burner until it's golden)! Downside: no tofu on the lunch menu, and only two options on the whole menu. $8 for a dinner portion of bean curd tofu with veggies. The worst General Tso shrimp ever..cold, congealed, and flattened with something white-ish they claim was shrimp..called to complain and they said nothing but sorry..no offer to deliver a fresh REAL shrimp dinner or substitute when asked..who ever flattens shrimp?! I walked in and the lady at the front was extremely rude. Not only I couldn't understand her English but I can go with that but every time I tried to place my order with her the phone would ring and she would pick up the phone and start taking their order so the guy behind her took a phone from her and then another phone rang and she picked it up I asked her are you going to take my order she totally ignored me and I left.
