    Shanghai Chicken Chowmein

Woke up craving dim sum, so we decided to stop by 88 Bao Bao, and it definitely satisfied the craving. Ordering is simple -- you place your order at the counter first, and if you're dining in, they'll get a table ready for you afterward. The process felt organized and quick, which I appreciated since we were hungry. Once seated, the table was already stocked with chili oil, garlic sauce, and vinegar so you can mix your own dipping sauce to your liking. They also have disposable utensils available if you prefer, but they still provide regular plates, forks, and small sauce dishes, which made everything feel more comfortable for dining in. Our food came out pretty quickly, which was a pleasant surprise. We ordered the pork & shrimp siomai, shrimp hakau, and Shanghai chow mein with chicken. Everything tasted fresh, hot, and flavorful. The dumplings were juicy and well-seasoned, and the chow mein had a good balance of noodles, chicken, and seasoning without feeling greasy. Overall, this spot is a great option when you want a quick dim sum fix. We got really lucky and there was no wait when we came for lunch on a Sunday. The ordering process is easy, the food comes out fast, and the flavors definitely deliver. I'd come back again when the dim sum cravings hit.

I finally tried 88 Bao Bao a few months ago, after wanting to try it for quite some time now. I ordered BBQ pork buns, pork xiaolong bao, and Shanghai chow mein. The pork xiaolong bao was pretty good. The soup in them was seasoned well and same with the pork. In Filipino culture, we have something similar to pork buns, called siopao, which happens to be one of my favorite snacks growing up. I was very pleased when taking my first bite of the bbq pork buns. They tasted great, especially with a splash of soy sauce. The Shanghai chow mein was unfortunately underwhelming for both me and my daughter. I was hoping it would be more flavorful, but regretfully it wasn't. Overall, I'm did enjoy most my items from this 88 Bao Bao location. I'll definitely go back for more pork buns and xiaolong bao! 3 out of 5 stars.

Not much room inside for a busy day. Why some choose to sit outside Specials on frozen foods you can buy Others cooked here Not cheap but good Take outs are popular and quick pick up Almost nothing here gluten free so... As far as dim sum The rice cakes are but they are from frozen foods I've bought delivered to my house from Weee Parking is strained Parking lot shared with many other retail shops

Decided to grab dinner before heading to Homegoods and this was such a good decision! We've always loved 88 Bao Bao, and we were craving something comforting and hearty on such a cold winter night. We opted for a veggie chow mein, pork xiao long baos, pan fried pork buns, and shaomai this time. Everything came out steaming, especially those pan fried buns! Iykyk!! Kind of bummed that we forgot about their wontons in chili oil (which is absolutely a must order), but we already ordered so much food as it was, it probably would have been overkill. There's always next time! I like that you order at the register and then grab seating for dine-in. Only problem would be if all the tables were taken. The restaurant is fairly small, so I could see how that might happen often during busy hours. Otherwise, service was great. Quick wait time between ordering and receiving our food. Condiments well stocked on the table. Plus water is self-serve, along with to-go boxes. Nice place for a speedy meal that gives you homemade feels. We'll be back again soon!

We had to try this place despite some low star reviews and gave it a try. The place isn't as big and you will have to order before claiming a table. Ambiance is casual. We ordered quite a feast and I loved everything! We got chicken fried rice, crab & pork xiao long bao, leek, pork & shrimp steamed dumplings, beef chowmein, popcorn chicken, cucumber salad and beef noodle soup. They were all delicious, tasty and large portions. Service was excellent too as I had mistakenly ordered fried noodles but I really meant chowmein, and the guy who delivered the noodles replaced it with chowmein. I was so grateful and happy. Definitely check this place out. The kids loved the food as well. This is a place I would go to for some Chinese food cravings. Keeper!

Delicious and great service!! Smaller location, clean bathrooms and amazing food. Takeout was going wild the entire time. Found this spot before heading back home. Famished after shopping at the outlets. With 47 minutes left before closing the 88 Bao Bao crew did not disappoint! Quickly ordered the chow mein, 2 pork dumplings, and orange chicken. I was honestly so surprised at how fast and amazing everything tasted. Highly recommend mixing the chili and garlic oil together for the perfect dumpling dipping combo. Flavor overall was 10/10.

Came here for lunch after shopping nearby stores, and boy did we have a great meal after almost a year since we were here last! Place was almost full, but we were seated promptly (no table service tho). Interior was clean and organized, and you get a wide view of the open kitchen, which was also organized and clean, especially the hood and cooking areas. As far as ordering food, you have the option of either ordering at the table (mini tablet mounted) or at the counter. Everything is pretty much self service (ice water, napkins, to-go containers) and the food brought out by a staff member. We ordered the pork Xiao long bao, chicken vermicelli noodles and pan fried pork buns. All three items were simply delicious; the dumplings were one of the best, matched up against even the best in Sacramento. There was plenty of broth in each dumpling and the skin was perfect. The vermicelli noodles wasn't greasy, and there was an abundance of scrambled eggs, chicken, bean sprouts and the noodles itself (we opted for no onions, yellow or green). The pan fried pork bun was browned to a crisp on the bottom, and the filling was plentiful with the right amount of broth. What a treat we had today; the wifey and I agreed that 88 Bao Bao was better than some places we frequent that's closer to us (Elk Grove). We made a pact that we will visit here more often, especially when we're hitting the Outlets...it's that good!

Dined here with my family after the park. Upon entering 88 Bao Bao, we were greeted and asked if we were dining in. We were seated quickly. You order on a little screen on your table and then pay at the counter. We knew we wanted to get ice cream after at Fenton's so we didn't order much. We ordered chicken fried rice, vegetable pork dumplings, & sesame balls. The food came out quickly and they gave us plates. This place is family style. The utensils and sauces (garlic sauce, chili oil, vinegar) were on the table. The chicken fried rice was bland so I drizzled the garlic sauce on it and it was good. I poured some garlic sauce in a saucer and my son drank it. Hahaha. I told him it was sauce for the food. The vegetable pork dumplings were good as well. We ordered sesame balls to go & I couldn't wait to get home so I ate a couple. So good when it's hot & fresh. Would I come back & try other items? Yep!

Came in for dine in. We ordered a bunch of dishes for my husband and I. The chow mein, Egg Fried Rice, Marinated Beef, shrimp & pork siomai were good. As for the wonton soup and pork buns they were just okay. Portions were huge that we still had a lot of leftover that we took to go. Even though there were a steady flow of customers either dining in or picking up their order. The service was pretty fast. The place isn't that big so this place is more suitable for just a few customers at a time. The ambiance is more on casual vibe. Overall, we enjoyed our meal. Parking was not an issue. I highly recommend and will definitely come back.

Been wanting to check this place out and finally got the chance. It did not disappoint either. The staff was incredible and sat our party quickly. Ordered food through the tablet and food was out in no time. I had the pork dumplings and noodles. I definitely want to try other stuff but that'll be next time.

In a town where dumplings are scarce, 88 Bao Bao might be the best you've got. But if you want transcendence, you might need to take a drive to Sac or the Bay. The lumpia was very good (strange, I know). Crisp, delicate, savory, paired perfectly with the dipping sauce. The green beans follow closely behind, perfectly sauteed, a reminder that simplicity, done well, needs no embellishment. But then there are the disappointments--the barbecue pork buns, which arrive looking the part but missing the soul. The XLBs, fragile and fleeting. Eat them fast, because the moment they cool the wrapping starts to seize up.

My husband and I went and had dinner here with a friend. This place is an order first and then go find a place to sit. Since it was dinner it was pretty packed. The place isn't a big place so it was kinda cramped if there were a lot of people. I love that they have the clear window by the kitchen so you actually get to see them making your food for you. We got a few dishes, which were, crab & pork xlb, pork xlb, grilled squid, wonton in chili oil, pork dumplings and pan fried pork buns. Everything was delicious. My favorite was the pan fried pork buns. Had great flavor. Can definitely taste the porkiness in the meat and when you bit into the bun, you get a bit of the juice that is amazing. The rest of the dumplings pretty much have the same fillings. The grilled squid is good too. Nice and chewy, not tough at all. It paired nicely with the sweet and sour sauce that comes in it. Probably one of my top for dumplings!

We both craving Asian food. N found this on Yelp just down street from outlet stores. Name of the place so so cute,, 88 bao bao,, once walk in go cashier n order from above menu, cashier staff how to order n then find available table with ur number, once sat n got our hot tea n drink, oh they also have a ice water tank able to get your own water,, we sat and our chow mein was ready, piping hot chow mein, so yummy and flavorful ,, then squid is a little slightly sweet and flavorful, it took a while for the steam Dumplings and Sui mai , cuz they freshly hand made from your order.. everything we ordered we ate all, the spicy chili on table was so so tasty I scoop few spoonful on my chow mein, this place is clean / fresh hot Cooked food, will come again after our next shopping trip.. lots of parking too..

Yang Kee Dumpling is located in a small strip mall, equipped with plenty of parking, and EV chargers. When arrived it wasn't too busy, and the hostess showed me to my table. In front of my table was where the staff was making dumplings (they were behind glass). After looking at the menu, I opted to get some traditional soup dumplings, bbq pork fried rice, and pineapple bao buns for dessert. My server was Bing and she was nice and efficient. She came back to check on me a few times throughout my dining experience. My fried rice came out first. It was a LARGE serving of fried rice, it of course had eggs, carrots, peas, and BBQ pork. It was flavorful. Next came out the soup dumplings. They were brought out in a steamer basket with a top to keep them warm. These were amazing. The light and delicate dough, mixed with the savory pork filling, and the salty broth was perfection. Next came out my pineapple bao buns. To be honest, I wasn't sure how I was going to like them. To my surprise these may have been the star of the show. The dough was light and sweet, the top was carmelized and sweet, and the custard inside reminded me of a Dole Whip from disney (exept it wasn't cold, it was warm). These were pretty large and I'm semi embarrassed to admint I had 2 3/4 bao buns myself. Go here. It's delicious.

The meat in the pork bun was so little that I was chewing on dough the first few bites. The bun was pan fried to really crispy though. I expected a bit juice from the meat but it was just a dry bun. We also ordered the steamed vegetable and meat dumpling-they were mediocre and again the filling was tiny. I didn't taste much vegetables in them. I really liked the garlicky sauce on the table. I was a bit disappointed with the food and I remembered the soup dumplings that my friends ordered for take out were good, so I guess maybe I ordered the wrong dish. The staff was really friendly!

Although they're a chain, they did not disappoint and are truly a great addition to the food scene in Vallejo, especially if you're craving dim sum and don't want to cross the bridge. Food was tasty, service was friendly and efficient, and the pricing was more than reasonable. 88 Bao Bao is located in the Gateway Plaza shopping center. There is free parking shared among the businesses with several slots very close to the front. The establishment itself is intimate, but has a few tables for people to dine in, if they choose. We placed a phone order and the time quoted for pickup was accurate. Our order consisted of: - a Beef Roll - Shrimp Dumplings - Shrimp & Pork Shaomai - Wonton in Chili Oil - Chocolate XLB As noted above, quantity and pricing was on point. Flavor and taste of everything we ordered was fantastic. The chocolate xiaolong baos were a great way to round out the meal. Don't skip out on them if you have a little bit of a sweet tooth! 88 Bao Bao made a strong first impression. My family and I will definitely be stopping by again. Looking forward to trying more items off of their menu.

I was wrong. 88 Bao Bao makes some of the freshest dim sum I have ever eaten. We ordered two dishes and both were solid. The Beef Roll was my favorite. Loaded with flavor, freshly baked/fried, so delicious. The Har Gow was also tasty a simple combination of shrimp and ginger in a light noodle shell. Friendly service in a fast casual environment. Small place that can get pretty crowded. It's cool that you can browse the menu and order from a touchscreen at the table. We will definitely be back.
