This was our first time at Wah Shine, we were a party of 8. We ordered the Egg drop soup, the Won ton soup, a pork and a shrimp fried rice, a kung pao chicken and a kung pao shrimp. The servings were generous. The food was fresh and delicious. The Egg drop soup felt like a warm hug. I especially enjoyed the pork fried rice, I am used to seeing it with the bbq pork, which this one was not that did not take away from how good it was. The Kung Pao chicken could have had the veggies chopped smaller, but it's no big deal, it had plenty of peanuts which was a nice surprise. The service was great our water cups were never empty and empty plates were collected at an appropriate time. The staff was kind and very inviting. The place itself is a little outdated but the service and food make up for it. We will most definitely be coming back to Wah Shine. Sorry no pics. read more

Horrible restaurant the food is ok, but I can't even come in and enjoy with my family. THEY DO NOT HAVE A BABY CHANGING STALL. How do you come into a restaurant without no bay changing stall. It's ridiculous. They expect me to put her on the dirty floor. I came on a rainy days because my girls love Chinese's food and I have a 1 year old. I went to the restroom to change her diaper and boom nothing. I had to leave the restaurant while it's pouring outside with my little one to change her in the car. We both got very wet ... Very good food and service! Came for lunch with my mom and toddler! Food came out quickly and hot. The sautéed green beans were by far my favorite! So good! And the egg drop soup was delicious! I personally was not a big fan of the broccoli beef (the sauce tasted off to me hard to explain), their fried rice is very good and so are their spring rolls! They didn't have Togo cups for my drink so they made me one and I absolutely LOVE the creativity and dedication to helping me get my drink Togo! :) very sweet staff! Highly recommend! read more

I stopped by Wah Shine to pick up dinner. I was tired after a long work day. The service is always friendly and welcoming. Every time I order to go, they offer me a glass of water (which I always happily accept!) while I wait for my food. The food is always hot, delicious, and the portions are very generous. The decor is not the flashiest, but, it's cozy. I appreciate how well they pack my food to go, provided extra spicy sauce, and cut a hole in the corner of the packaging to let the steam out. The employees here were so friendly, and I wish I could give a higher review based off that alone. But if I'm being honest, I did not like the food here. We had chow mein, seafood egg drop soup, crispy chicken, and sweet and sour pork. Everything tasted really plain to me and lacked flavor. Nothing stood out as being good to me. Nice bright green large tender broccoli stems. Beef was ok. Had a couple chewy pieces but nothing to really complain about. On the website the menu showed asparagus and bok choy vegetable dishes but they no longer serve these. Their chow mein is also very good!!! The fried salt/pepper chicken is excellent!!! Thinly sliced chicken coated with a lightly color tempura like batter and fried to perfection. Not oily. Has a crispy crunch and is so so delicious!!!! I will definitely go back to try different entrées. So happy I tried Wah Shine. Now, whenever I crave Chinese food this is my go to spot in Vacaville! By far the better tasting Chinese cuisine compared to the two-tone bear franchise restaurant... hands down!!! If it's the drive-thru service you want Wah Shine's takeout orders is just as fast. I ordered takeout for 4 items. Salt and Pepper Fish was light, crispy and very tasty. It was nicely seasoned and every piece had a consistent texture. Broccoli Beef was packed with flavor. The broccoli had a nice snap and was cooked perfectly. The beef was soft and succulent. Combination Hong Kong Style Chow Mein was excellent. This entree is not available at most restaurants in the area, so it's a big plus Wah Shine makes it, and makes it right. Eggplant in Szechuan sauce was a nice vegetable entree to complement the other choices. I placed my order inside the restaurant and I waited about 15 minutes. Well me and wife go here once in a while .she had lunch special sweet sour pork and chow mein it was a healthy plate full of food . It comes with hot sour soup egg roll cheese fried wonton. I got the shrimp and broccoli lunch plate, my husband got the lemon chicken lunch plate. We were surprised by how huge the portions were. We'd ordered extra egg rolls for our son because we were expecting smaller portions and thought he'd still be hungry after picking off our plates. We were wrong. Pleasantly surprised. Too tired to cook on a Friday night, the intention was bahn bi from next door. But, we saw a few groups of people walk in and decided to give it a shot after numerous "ehh" take out encounters. Fast is good. But, this experience was great. The food was as expected. But what made the experience was the friendly staff. The interior is "retro" to say the least. But by no means dirty and dilapidated. I was a little disappointed tonight. I ordered the Szechuan beef and pork chow mein. The beef had no spice in it and the chow mein I couldn't find very many slices of pork so much for pork chow mein. I did order the hot and sour soup which was excellent and it was hot, but the other two items were kind of mediocre so I had to zap them in the microwave when I got them home. Wah Shine has great food, great service. The interior looks dated but the food is not. I really like their General Tso chicken dish, Fried rice, and Chow Mein! There is a lot of parking, and a lot of seating inside the restaurant. They are also great with catering. I have ordered party trays and have given them at least 24 hours in advance. Hot and sour soup contains shrimp We often eat the chicken fried rice and love it but today we ordered hot and sour soup and were surprised to realize it had shrimp in it. I've never had hot and sour soup with shrimp so it never occurred to me to ask but I do have a shrimp allergy so it meant I couldn't eat the soup at all.
