My wife, our son, and I dined at Daniella's for our 25th anniversary dinner, and we had a wonderful experience. We made reservations and even on a Tuesday night and were promptly seated (whew!). Our waitress was wonderful. Her timing was perfect, and she even kept us updated when there was a slight delay with our food. My filet was nice and thick and very tasty, my wife's salmon was cooked perfectly, and our son really enjoyed his Penne Vodka. We finished things off with the chocolate mousse cake, which was excellent as well. At the end of the evening, the floor manager stopped by to thank us, and his sincerity and graciousness really capped off a great meal. Daniella's has such a quaint, intimate setting with a very professional staff. Charlie really puts out a great product in such a small setting. Knowing him from the old days; and seeing all of his fun Facebook skits promoting Daniella's, I'm glad we finally stopped by to enjoy a meal ourselves. Charlie is one-of-a-kind! I am compelled to leave an honest and disappointing review. As with many in the area at graduation, we were looking for a place to have a great meal and we were excited to learn about a steakhouse that was super attentive and provided quality and well cooked meals. We were extra excited by what seemed to be their signature dish, steak and mashed potatoes. Well, we had an 8pm reservation, which to me is normal time, but seems to be like a last seating for this restaurant. The place was full upon entering but emptied out quickly during our meal experience. It was just our immediate family of 4. Started with cocktails and proceeded to order the seafood trio app, which was good. Wedge salad, which was also good. Had a nice waitress who had a good sense of humor. The rest went downhill. We all ordered different types of steaks and 3 of 4 medium rare, one NY Strip medium. Ordered a side of Brussel sprouts and some other accompanying sauces. All 3 steaks came out in variations of well done - gross! On an even more disappointing note, we were told there is no more mashed potatoes, which is why we chose this place, and then told only 2 baked potatoes, so we had to decide who gets it and who doesn't. A TERRIBLE thing to happen at a steak restaurant, in addition to ruining what seemed to be quality steaks. The Brussel sprouts came out overly well done drenched in their sauce. Bite into any of them and they were totally deflated and not good. We couldn't even eat it. The waitress came back and asked how things were... my wife's fillet was so over cooked the waitress even agreed and offered to remake. By this time it was almost 9:15 and she lost her appetite. The three of us just didn't mention how ours were because it would have just caused chaos that none of us wanted. We NEVER send back food, but in this case, hers was insanely overcooked. We asked to have it removed from the bill, which they did. Regardless, we dropped $430, including a $70 tip (because I am generous... waitress should have done a lot more for us when noticing the quality of what was served to us) for the 4 of us, with only 3 main meals. Just a real poor experience. I'm hoping this was just an isolated happening, but completely upset it happened to us for my daughter's graduation, son's 25th Bday and our 27th Anniversary. All that weekend. Advice to owner: please ensure you have enough product for your reservations. We were not walk-ins. Then, listen to the customer's request for how they prefer their steaks to be cooked and serve as ordered. 8pm reservation should not make a difference from a 6pm. I'm just really disappointed and wish we went to Ts instead, but liked the idea of smaller and more intimate. read more

It was a busy evening at Daniella's steakhouse when we stopped by this past weekend. It was not our first visit. If you visit for dine in, especially during the winter, make sure to ask to not be by the doors. There is a table right across the door that gets super cold, and also is a bit frustrating of a spot since people walking in, or waitresses walking by to greet, constantly bump into you or your chairs. The ambiance is a bit hit or miss for me. I enjoy the lower lighting, but the atmosphere can feel a bit too intimate due to how close in proximity you are to others dining in. It's especially odd to me as a high end eating establishment to sit so closely to others. Food wise it is fine dining, so it is pricy. We really enjoyed the seafood trio for two, except it was a bit awkward to eat the small shredded crab pieces with no spoon. We also felt it would have been better if it also came with butter. The seared scallops were delicious, soft and had great flavor with a savory garlic butter sauce. But, it also felt strange to not come with some sort of green vegetable especially for the price. The waitress was kind, and as we were celebrating we got a fireworks styled candle and dessert. The table picked thier choice of selections but I stuck with the almond butter cake. Went for my parent's anniversary. Everyone working was so friendly and accommodating. It is a darker setting but there are lights on the table. It is a bit of a tight fit. My dad uses a walker and there was no issue, but I'm not sure a wheelchair would fit. Clean bathrooms. All the food was fantastic. We had an 8 pm reservation which we were early for, so we got a glass of wine while we waited. the gentlemen behind the bar were so friendly and made sure we were taken care of while we waited for our table. Small space in the Best Western (very old school, can't remember the last time I ate in a destination restaurant at a Best Western). Reservations are a must. If you reserve on Open Table interestingly they write down your reservation at the hostess stand by your first name in a book, not a computer (very old school). Knowing this will save you some time and angst when you check in. The tables are placed close together (Reminds me of being in Manhattan). The Crabcakes were good but not the lump crabcakes you would get in Maryland. The Sicilian Steamers were outstanding. Had the 30 oz bone-in ribeye which was the best steak I've had in Syracuse. The garlic mashed were great. The almond cake was amazing. Had a great time. Next time I'll have to try one of their Italian entrees. I made reservations for three at my brothers request, he had selected the restaurant for an upcoming visit. We had 5pm reservations and unfortunately missed the exit off thruway putting us thirty minutes past reservation. I called and thankfully they were able to accommodate our tardiness. The owner greeted us upon arrival and insisted on taking our picture. I was escorted to the table promptly. The ambiance is vintage and only a soft glow illuminates the dining area. Ideal for an intimate dinner, quintessential setting for romance, or any special occasion. Many celebrations were taking place throughout our visit, I lost count of the number of sparkler candles being presented to guests. The service was impeccable throughout our meal. Water and fresh bread were served, cocktails and wine shortly after. We were never rushed, started with Sicilian steamers that were bathing in a white wine, garlic sauce that deserved to be soaked up by every ounce of bread! Delicious! The sauce was raved about this could be an entree served on linguini! I had the filet with Oscar topping cooked to medium rare. Cooked to perfection, hollandaise sauce with crab and asparagus. The crab is canned but that did not deter me from ordering, and was plentiful! My brother enjoyed his chicken Parmesan, and his spouse Steak Dianne. Both also excellent! The owner did check on tables during dining experience as well. The wine and cocktails were flowing, waters refilled, food was boxed for us. We finished with a chocolate mousse cake that was divine! Three hours and $321 bill and worth every penny! My brother loved it as well, three very happy diners, tons of food to go! This was our first time here and we went with a party of 6 last night. All the food was amazing. I can't remember when I had better Calamari. It was amazing! I had the Seafood Alexander (amazing). Their steaks were tender and delicious. The service was top notch. The Owner, Charlie, came around to the tables to check on us. We made reservations at the last minute, so we ended up in the "overflow" room, which was in a seperate room from the main restaurant. I would suggest if you go with younger kids (which we did) you book this area. The Ambience in both areas was great. We walked through the main restaurant which was dimly lit and had music. Perfect for a well deserved, relaxed evening. The Overflow room was more lit and quiet, for a relaxed evening with conversation. We're looking forward to another night out there! read more

This place is amazing !!! My daughter and I had a weekend getaway July 24, 2026. Kim our server was phenomenal. She knew everything possible about each dish. A wonderful surprise of an experience inside a Best Western. Very intimate setting with exceptional service. Dinner was truly outstanding and a romantic decor. Soups are full of flavor, including French Onion and a New England Clam Chowder special. The calamari steak is a must have on the regular menu for an appetizer... Best I've had since Hawaii. The seared tuna special was seasoned and prepared flawlessly. For the entrée, they do justice to lamb chops with blue cheese. Dessert is worth saving room for. The peanut butter mouse was thick and filled with chocolate and nuts. The bread is not something to be overlooked. Fresh and hot with a sweet butter cream. Wow!! First of all we were bummed because we went online and it said no tables were available, so we called and they were able to accommodate us(2) . Thank goodness !!! I would like to preface this with Daniella's WAS our #1 steakhouse until the last visit. Hade our dinner last month. Formally complained to Charlie, email at the bottom. Promised to make it right. Had to reach out almost a month later and he said someone must have dropped the ball, understandable. Yet we received a 50$ gift card today. Slap in the face if you ask me for the money I spent on a horrible dinner. Email: For years, your restaurant has been our family's absolute favorite steakhouse. We've easily dined there dozens of times, often bringing the whole family. Last night was extremely disappointing. We were shocked to learn that the spinach artichoke dip--one of the main reasons we keep coming back--has been removed from the menu related to length of the dish. We noticed the prices had jumped over 20% (which we understand prices have rose but...), but then learned that my entrée no longer included any vegetable side for a very expensive diner. My wife ordered the filet medium; it arrived well-done and the baked potato was badly burnt. She hates complaining, so she quietly left more than half the steak on her plate. I ordered the frenched veal chop. When I cut along the bone, the meat was ice-cold and completely raw in the center. The server asked if they should "just throw it back on the grill" or make a new one. I asked for a new chop--as trying to salvage the original would just not be up to the typical Daniella's standards. Twenty minutes later the replacement arrived. It was now well-done except for a small raw center. At that point I sent it back and gave up on dinner entirely. Which would have been 200$, minus the steak I did not pay for we paid 130$. This was easily the worst experience we've ever had at your restaurant, and after so many great visits over the years, it's heartbreaking. I hope this was an off night and not a sign of declining standards, because we truly love coming there. FYI the bartender is great read more

Went to Daniella's Saturday and ordered the prime rib which was absolutely amazing. Tasty, delicious, with whipped garlic mashed potatoes and vegetables medley. And bread with honey butter was the best. Attentive wait staff that even added more bread when our dinners came. And how about the owner thanking us for coming and even a phone call the next day. I can appreciate that this isn't a chain, and yes, the prices are about 10% higher than chain steakhouses, but the quality of meat is exceptional, well worth the splurge. I wish I could provide pictures but the ambience was very relaxing and dark so a flash would have been needed and did not want to bother other patrons. Do not judge by its outside looks; by that I mean it is attached to a hotel. I did not ask but going to assume it was part of a mom and pop hotel that ended up selling to a bigger name place, but the restaurant stayed. We made reservations ahead of time, because they can't guarantee a table even on a Thursday night. The dining room is not large and they are a very popular restaurant. We are always greeted warmly and we were seated promptly. Our server,Kim, was extremely attentive throughout our meal. I had the French Onion Soup and it was delicious. The broth was richly flavored with just the right amount of salt, a nice amount of onions and crostoni...and the cheese on top, swiss and provolone, was broiled. Many places just melt the cheese but broiling gives added flavor. My scallops were cooked nicely and my baked potato was huge. My husband had the Chicken Marsala with red mashed potatoes and vegetables. He finished everything and said it was perfect. They make their desserts in house so I had the Butter Cake a la mode and my husband had the Chocolate Mousse, both were excellent.The owner, Charley, was walking around the dining room and talking with his customers and it seemed like many of them were regulars. Every time we pull into the parking lot, I'm once again amazed that a cozy, fine dining spot is located in a hotel (albeit with a separate entrance). The restaurant is dimly lighted in an intimate setting and a perfect venue in which to celebrate a special occasion. Because we've dined before with nary a glitch, it's good to be reminded that any establishment can have one, or two, on any given night. What sets Daniella's apart is the serving staff. While enjoying dinner at Daniella's last evening, there were a few hiccups but our server Jeff was willing to jump through hoops to make us happy. He really went above and beyond while being stretched to the limit to provide excellent service. Our meals were delicious as we expected they would be and thanks to Jeff, he saved the night. I was very excited to try Daniella's as I entered the small but well appropriated space. The dim lighting set a very intimate mood. I had heard so many positive things about this place and all of it proved true. Misty was our server and she was exceptional, anticipating our every need. I ordered the pork chop, as well as the house salad. Both were outstanding. The house salad was large and included roasted red peppers, and chickpeas, Something you never get on a house salad. The pork chop was enormous, but I did good work of it and finished every bit. It was so tender. I've never had a pork chop like this before. my husband ordered the steak Diane and he said it was the best he ever had. We realize that between the service and the food at Daniella's. It was much better than other so-called fine dining restaurants in the area. I am glad we made reservations as this restaurant is small. I think this will become a favorite of ours. To top it off, a few days later we received a phone call from the owner Charlie Roman thanking us for dining there. No Charlie, thank you for providing us with a wonderful evening. read more

I just had a wonderful experience here. I was a little suspicious at first seeing that it shared a building with Best Western, but that had no effect on it whatsoever. There is limited seating when you enter and a separate section for the bar. It's dark and intimate and has smooth jazz playing in the background. We were greeted by Denise and Misty. Denise was our server and she was terrific. Polite, professional, adorable. Misty was also all of those adjectives. The French Onion soup was great. It was on the beefier side, which I like. The beefy taste melded well with the onions and cheese. It was very savory. I would get this again. I was not too big of a fan of the crab cakes though. I prefer lump crab cakes, where it's more crab than cake. I did however really enjoy the remoulade that came with it. It saved the crab cakes, but I honestly probably wouldn't get them again. I'd opt to try another appetizer - there's quite a few that sound and look good. I ordered the filet mignon, medium rare with Gorgonzola as a topper and the garlic mashed potatoes as the side and a medley of vegetables. It was a quality cut of meat and cooked and seasoned perfectly. I loved it. The potatoes were great and I enjoyed the vegetables. Oh, and the Gorgonzola topper was an explosion of flavor that went so well with the filet. My husband ordered the 50oz. bone-in cowboy cut ribeye. He devoured it. Luckily, I was able to get a few bites of it before he finished. It was delicious. Cooked medium rare, well seasoned, and honestly for such a thick cut of meat, I'm impressed. We split an order of creamed spinach. I liked it, my husband loved it. My only knock would be the crispy onions that were on top of it. Next time I would do without them, BUT I will get this again next time. To wrap up the meal, we split an Almond Butter Cake. OUTRAGEOUS. Don't even think about this, just get it. Terrific desert. This is a place I will come back to. I'm already planning my next trip back for my MIL's birthday. The reputation Daniella's has is well deserved. read more

Finally had a chance to try the famous Daniella's Steakhouse in Syracuse! Had a 7:30 reservation on a Friday night. Arrived right on time, but it seemed like they had several reservations at the same time. We waited about 15 minutes and were eventually seated. For how popular this restaurant is, it seems like they could easily expand to a larger location! Despite the short wait, the food was delicious! My NY Strip was cooked perfectly and the portions allowed me to enjoy two more meals later on. I am a bit of a snob when it comes to the cooking of steak, but Daniella's was spot on!
