Omg the chicken wings were exactly what my LA kid was craving! Crispy and moist (smoked?) with a delicious spicy-sweet sauce called "sweet red chili" I think. We also got a gimbap (?) appetizer and I ordered the bulgogi-deopbap which came with delicious little side dishes. Sorry I forget all the names of the items, we'll definitely be back!

It's alright. Limited options for korean food in the area though. Got the Haemul Udon Bokkeum which is a stir fried udon with seafood and vegetables. Portions here are good and they have ample seating. Price though is quite steep at around $20 for this dish. Average.

I've been here almost 2 years now and this restaurant never disappoints! The woman is so sweet and the food is excellent! My favorite is the Jjambong, which is a spicy noodle soup with seafood and veggies. It has two mussels and shrimps, 3-5 strips of squid, spinach, bean sprouts, and green onions! It's a big portion and it's worth the money. I've gotten the gimbap, tofu soup, the mackerel, and other dishes before and it was great too! You always get side dishes! It's different each time and my favorite is the fish cakes. They recently replaced the older tables with new better ones! I highly recommend eating here!

I was in search of Korean food. This place was recommended, it looked closed,(as I was told), but I went inside and ordered. I did eat there but it has only a few tables, so it must be mostly take-out. I have no way to gauge the food as authentic, but the two items I tried were delicious and fresh. Gimbap - Very much like sushi, but the rice is seasoned differently and the carrots and spinach are cooked, it also had egg, radish and crab and was topped with sesame seeds. Tteokbokki is rice cakes cooked in a flavorful sauce, with scallions and egg. Rice cakes have the consistency of mochi, so it's a texture thing and really not for everyone.....the flavor is in the sauce.....spicy - salty - sweet. I would definitely order it again. I was so happy and there is so more for me to try! The woman at the counter (owner?) was very nice, and helpful.

What a delight! This is GOOD Korean food. Everything is made by hand. The chef is the owner, and she and the woman running front of house were friendly and just lovely. The chef even came out and personally chatted with everyone who was eating here. Now, you are probably wondering how the food is? Oh, it is SO good. They could compete in San Francisco. I received 4 size dishes. Pickled daikon (yay) a mysterious, Herby, spongy green I am unfamiliar with, and a new experience is a rare treat for me, fish cake strips (my favorite) and REALLY well-balanced kimchee. I normally do not care for kimchee, but this was so good! I got a seafood pancake and a squid and pork belly dish, which also had onions, hot pepper slices, and sliced savory fried rice cake. Also, of course, a bowl of rice to eat it on. By default, I was given cold water rather than hot tea, but i found it was quite welcome today. If you want GOOD Korean food, you should absolutely give this place a try. The people are so nice, too. They treat you like family. Me: "this is all so good!" Her: ""Oh! You are good also!" Happy belly, happy heart.

Dropped in on my journey through Finger Lakes region on way back to Binghamton. Lastime I was in Syracuse was in winter 1979. Well this area has ballooned. Service slow cos they were overwhelmed with take outs so must mean good food. The food was excellent and it was worth the wait

Small restaurant located in Syracuse. Service is pretty slow (small staff), but they're very nice people. Food is delicious (tried the seafood soondobu and bibimbap with beef). The side dishes are plentiful and tasty. I especially loved the flavor of the seafood soondobu. Of note, because it's such a small restaurant, dishes come out one at a time (might be a bit awkward for large groups). My one qualm is the prices are pretty high (I've moved around a lot and the dishes are all about $5 more than I'm used to for a Korean place), but with a small city and limited choices, it's still pretty tasty and I would come back.

The place looks sketchy. You walk in and you're hit with this smell.. it's not pleasant, but once you sit down you don't even notice it anymore. But their soondubu (tofu stew) and fried chicken were so good. We also ordered the shumai (frozen packaged), spicy ramen, and tonkatsu. Everything was delicious, the service was wonderful, the lady who served us were so sweet and just the right amount of attentiveness. The best part for me was the banchan. Their side dishes, you can tell the owner makes the kimchi in house because it was SO good. I miss having fresh kimchi! Plus she sells them by the pint! We will definitely make a trip back to Syracuse to eat here again!

We decided to give this place a try and overall we VERY pleased. We ordered Japchae, Bibimbop, Bulgogi and Cilantro Bokkeum. We also ordered fried dumplings. The positive - the food was all VERY GOOD. It took me back to my time in Korea with the aroma and the taste. All of the food was prepared very well and was flavorful. The dumplings reminded me of exactly what I used to order from street vendors in Korea - it was all very, very good!! The negative - We ordered online and when we arrived the food was ready. When we got it home only part of our order was in the bag. When we went back, the owner showed us the order form and it was clear that my order (as I submitted it) was in small print at the bottom of the form but when the site transferred it to larger print it omitted a portion of it - not the owner's fault. She apologized profusely and I assured her I understood and was not upset. In fact, I ordered another order of the fried dumplings because the one I had before coming back to get the rest of the order was so good. I was prepared to pay for it but the owner would not take any money for it - good customer service!!! So - if they can get the intermediary online ordering service straightened out, I would definitely give a 5-star because THE FOOD WAS PHENOMENAL!

Daegu Tang (cod, seafood, tofu, and veggies spicy stew), banchan (radish, fish cake, bean sprouts, tofu), white rice, and hot barley tea
    Jimmy M.

Came here after a 9 hour flight from California. This was my only meal of the day. Daegu Tang (cod, seafood, tofu, and veggies spicy soup) was excellent. The right amount of spice, salt, proteins and zucchini were cooked perfectly. I liked every banchan. Finished my entire meal (what's shown, plus another rice bowl, and a bit more banchan). The tofu banchan was my favorite. Service was excellent even though I was their last customer and every employee left already. Just the nice ajumma left. Finished my meal at ~10:45pm. My best friend is Korean, we go to countless great Korean restaurants in SoCal and this place definitely has great food. I'll take him here when he comes into town. Highly recommend eating here.

Do they take reservations and do I need to make one?

This place is pretty small so i guess it would depend on the size of your party. If it's small then I wouldn't worry about it. If you got a party of 8 thenI'm not sure if they could accommodate you. I would call.

The hot pot makes the bottom of the rice nice and crispy. I get mine with tofu instead of beef and the portion is very generous. It comes with 3 banchan (Korean small side dishes) and miso soup. My only wish/suggestion for improvement is that they should offer more variety in their banchan. Service is fast but I'm usually here outside peak hours. Ambiance is simple but always clean. My dinner bill with a beer and a hot tea came to $26 which is a good value imo (my leftover filled a to-go container).

Personally, I would only reorder the seafood pancake. --- A road trip was planned around dining at Chorong House since I was so excited for Korean pancakes. We ordered the (1) beef kimbob, (2) dukboki (Korean spicy and sweet rice cakes), and (3) Korean-style seafood pancake. 1. The beef kimbob (10 pieces) was a little bit of a letdown since only 4 pieces had any substantial beef. 4 didn't have any beef, and the other 2 had tiny slivers (and were only rice and lettuce). A little dry, I wish the filling was pickled or had more flavor. 2. The dukboki was a small serving, and had cabbage and onions as well. I wish there were fishcakes with the serving. Overall, it was pretty standard. 3. The korean seafood pancake was big, fluffy, crispy, and stuffed FULL of filling. I was really happy with the pancake, even if it felt a little undercooked. Awesome flavor, good sauce, and large size. We took our leftovers home. It was by far my favorite thing. The restaurant was very obviously run by a small duo team. Wait time of getting food was normal, but the wait time of getting the check was long if you missed the "window" when they were in the front of house and went to the back to start cooking the new table's meal. Overall, a chill, no-frills dining experience if you're in the Syracuse area. I'd avoid the kimbob.
