Fresh cooked meals and easy parking (oversized lot)! Come here for a day or evening you want a stress free environment and you won't be disappointed. The lunch hour seems to be a little busier as they have lunch specials which you can find on the menu. This is my secondary visit and they have great sesame and cashew chicken (with veggies). The service is very quick and friendly. I can't wait to come here one evening to dine in as both visits have been takeout. Note: pricing is beyond reasonable and the portions are plentiful. Enjoy!

The food was the best that I've ever had! Absolutely delicious. The Service was in good timing and clean and respectful. I would love to come back. Highly recommend!

Amazing food! Great portions! Super fair pricing!!! Lunch and dinner specials are a great deal. Let me tell you about their fried rice, y'all. It resembles and tastes like something you actually want to eat! I've never before eaten fried rice that was worth paying for, except when I cooked it myself, which is a total hassle and mess. I go here JUST for their fried rice!

I hadn't been there since at least 1996 but my family and I visited last weekend. The lunch deals were inexpensive IMO. Egg rolls were nice and crispy, fried rice was yummy, and the garlic chicken was exactly as I remembered it. I'd love to go back and try some of the lobster and crab dishes. While Dinkytown has changed a LOT, Shuang Cheng hasn't, and that's a good thing! Also, my bro ordered the chicken with orange peel. I don't usually like sauces breaded chicken dishes because the reading is often soggy. We all agreed that their chicken was delicious! I'll go back the next time I'm in the beautiful Twin Cities!

There is a reason why a restaurant survives for 36 years. It has to have great quality food, be…read moreconsistent, have good service, and fair pricing. It helps too to have a well maintained, attractive place to eat. Shuang Cheng has ticked those boxes for three and half plus decades. Let's start with one of the most basic items: Wonton Soup. Boring, I hear you say! Well, consider this: broth that has a deep, deep flavor and wasn't something that was an afterthought. Generous slices of roasted pork, tender wonton wrappers stuffed with a great-tasting filling. Boring? Hardly. It's literally the best wonton soup I've ever had. OK, what about something like lobster with black bean sauce. Nailed it. Sweet, generous portion of lobster in a sauce so good, you can use it as a dip for your lobster and it's fantastic over the rice. EMPEROR'S CHICKEN (15.85) - My wife varied from her usual Sesame Chicken (which she thinks is better than any other Chinese restaurant) and is a lightly breaded and deep fried chicken fillet slices of ham over a bed of bok choy and mushrooms. Perfect she said. The service is always good, the restaurant was remodeled a few years ago and if you can overcome the parking challenge in Dinkytown, this traditional Cantonese restaurant deserves a permanent place on your regular restaurant rotation. Enough said.

The scallion pancakes were super crispy, the Szechuan dumplings had a LOT of garlic + chili oil (in the best way), and the Shanghai pork buns were juicy and full of flavor. The pork belly was braised perfectly with tasty bok choy, while the farm pork was a classic stir-fry with just the right amount of spice. Everything came with a generous amount of rice too! Definitely a spot I'd come back to with 4+ people so you can order a bunch of dishes, get quick service, and share everything family-style.

Extremely Disappointing -- Save Your Money…read more I honestly don't understand how Tea House gets rated as a top place. From the outside appearance and lack of upkeep to the service and, most importantly, the food, the entire experience was disappointing. The service was odd, the staff didn't seem very familiar with the menu, and there were several misses that made the experience even less enjoyable. The food itself was mediocre at best--and honestly, some of it was just bad. Then came the bill: over $75 plus tip for three people, with two lunch specials and three drinks. For what we received, the price was absolutely ridiculous. For me, this was a hard pass. The food wasn't worth the money, the service wasn't impressive, and the overall experience left a lot to be desired. Don't waste your time, and especially don't waste your money.
