Shrimp Egg Foo Yong, chicken wings, boneless spareribs and pork fried rice

This place has the "Boston a Chinese food" flavors I missed when I grew up in Florida. I spent every Summer in Boston and this is the food I crave from my childhood. Boneless spareribs, chicken wings, egg foo yong and beef teriyaki are my faves here.

    3. General Gau's Chicken, FR5. Vegetable Fried Rice, 13. Spicy Garlic Chicken wings

Went back to this restaurant. This time I ordered my usual and the food was good. Last time I wasn't happy with my order.this made up for it. Stick with what you know.

Be careful ordering here especially if it's y'a last dime. I called and ordered food they deducted $$ off my card right away and the lady said " I dunno no receipt come out" I told her I can see that money has been deducted already from my card , she kept repeating check card check card and I kept repeating the same thing and then she hung up on me! I had to call back so many times and then she said I dunno no receipt came out. Now here I am no food for me and the kids.. she had some other lady call me back to say maybe it's their machine or these cash cards customers use , I told her I use Bank of America she said maybe the money would get reversed and here we are.

For people like me who can never find the menu when you need it

Okay this will be short and sweet I have never had a bad experience here. The owner is so friendly..every time I walk in the door I am alway warmly greeted. Food is great...I'm not lying when I say I've NEVER had any problems from this restaurant and I've been ordering from here for years. The only thing that sucks is they don't delivery and only except cash..but other than that they are my fave chinese spot in my area.

Shrimp fried rice, fried shrimp, lobster sauce, boneless ribs.

I had to go to the bathroom after eating the Beef Teriyaki and it wasn't a great experience.

A moment of true nostalgia. As a Boston native, one thing I will forever love is the food,…read moreespecially the Chinese Food! Chinatown Express is one of my favorite on the go restaurants. I've been coming here since 2002 and though I moved out of Boston in 2005, I make sure to come get an order everytime I'm in town. Good food, good portions, and most of all, GREAT Combination plates. My go combo is the D11. Chicken Fingers, Boneless Spareribs, Beef Teriyaki, and Pork Fried Rice. This combination is a perfect balance of pork, beef, and chicken. The ribs are meaty and have a perfect sweet to salt balance. The beef teriyaki is well done and pairs well with the pork fried rice. The highlight for me is the moist, meaty chicken fingers. The meat is seasoned as well as the batter is too. The pork fried rice brings everything together as I take a scoop of rice with every bite of meat. LoL!!!! Now, if you know what's good for you, make sure to get the Duck Sauce. One thing about the Chinese food in Boston is the Duck Sauce. It's sweet and provides an added flavor profile to everything on the plate. Also, regardless of what you order, the duck sauce will always make it taste even better. LoL!!! If you're in the area you've gotta stop in and get some food from Chinatown Express. The menu has a variety of options. The lunch and dinner specials are awesome. The service is good. And the food is fresh. 20 years later and they still haven't lost the quality goodness that I enjoy!

I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt that it was just an off-night however, and I'd be willing to try it again

We ordered 3 combination plates with sesame chicken, crab Rangoon, and pork fried rice, 2 combination plates with general tso chicken, crab Rangoon, and chicken fried rice, one large order of tostones, and one large order of chicken wings for $108. The food was ready after about 15 minutes and was still warm after 30 minutes when we were ready to eat. We all agreed that the food was less greasy than most Chinese food places. Also, the wings were really crispy and tasted fresh. The rice was really good, and surprisingly I did prefer the chicken fried rice. I liked the general tso chicken more than the sesame chicken since it had a bit of spice and more flavor, whereas the sesame chicken was just sweet. I did wish the breading was crispier, but I think it was just because it was take out and about a 20 minute drive. The crab rangoons were good but they did need just a little more filling for my liking. The tostones would have been a lot better right out the oil but it did bring a lot in the order. Overall, I was very satisfied with the portion sizes, flavor, and cost.

Bomb.com. Truly incredible wings. The fried plantains? Legit. Perfect. The shrimp and broccoli is delicious and the shrimp are massive. Not the tiny little things other places try to sneak past you. These are big, beautiful shrimp. Combo plates are always on point. Everything here is just scrumptious. Only downfall? Cash only. I really wish they took debit or credit. It's 2025, folks. Let's make it happen. Other than that, Mandarin House is a winner. A strong winner. I will keep coming back.
