Came here for a quick bite. Their dan dan noodle is still delicious and the steamed chicken in chili oil is a must. Not many Chinese restaurant can pull this dish off. Servers are nice and friendly.

Really really great food! Great experience! Went here for the first time yesterday as we were visiting a friend who lives in the area and he highly recommended this restaurant. We were very pleased with our choice! They were full when we got there but it was only a 5 minute wait - we looked at the menu meanwhile. I like that they have this huge picture menu too so you can see what the dishes look like. There was the customary hot green tea which was nice. We ordered our usual favorites- kung pao chicken and ma po tofu (without pork). Both were delicious. Chicken was tender and flavorful- a bit sweet for me but still good. Tofu was soft and the sauce was very savory and tasty. We also ordered the black pepper fish fillet - we had to ask which fish dishes were not deep fried - the server pointed those out so that was very helpful. Came with veggies. The tofu and fish dishes were a bit spicy but not overly so. Just right. The pan fried chicken dumplings were great too. Those came out the last because they take some time to make. We got 3 white rice too. Overall we were extremely satisfied with our meal and couldn't stop eating - everything was so fresh, yummy and filling. Lots of food. We had leftovers to take home. The space itself is bright and cheery. It was crowded which is always a good sign. Service was efficient. Parking was easy just down the street, free street parking. We'll definitely be back to try other dishes.

Food is pretty decent. Sometime it can be a hit or miss but I feel like that's all restaurants. Try to go on a week day cause weekends be hella packed in there.

first time here. staffs are attentive and ambiance is just ok. for foods... 1. sweet corn with salty egg yolks: so crunchy and when they cook, not stick between each corn kernel. taste great!!! and i will say absolutely recommended dish 2. beef in black pepper sauce: if you do not like spicy, do not order this cause can make numb for your tongue. i will say fish will be more suitable for this but i did not order fish because afraid too big and could not finish it will say a recommended taipei restaurant!!!

Small restaurant packed with people and flavor. It's a hidden gem in North Quincy. The soup dumplings were perfect and everything was a party in our mouths. Seriously a must go to spot on every visit now.

Another visit, for a family bday! Our usual wait staff on hand always super friendly. Food came out quick and hot. We got our usual dishes plus tried some of the live fish (market price) hot and sour style broth. Cooked crispy fish fillet with sweet sour sauce on side! Dry pot beef Beef and shredded longhorn pepper (not too spicy this time but depends on the season) Crispy pig intestines appetizer Beef and peppers scallion rolls Soup dumplings Seafood stir fry noodz General gaus chicken Always good, lunch menu time even better but that's alright!

I came here for lunch right around 11 AM when they opened. The place is clean and fairly spacious. I was seated right away. Service was fast and they serve tea once seated (I love that). For food I got: Beef rib dry pot--Very so slightly numbing in spice, so good and addicting. It's not spicy to the point where you cannot eat it nor does the spices build. The short ribs were thin like kalbi. There were tons of potatoes. I do wish instead of just potatoes they would have veggies like cabbage or something else. I do recommend this. Next time I'll have to try other dry pots. Cabbage dry pot--They use Chinese cabbage which is surprisingly better than expected cause it is slightly sweet unlike Napa cabbage. The flavor is sweet and slightly numbing. Definitely a must order if you want a veggie dish. Fatty Beef Noodle in Sour Soup-- If you like hot and sour soup this is very similar. I do think it is a bit too sour (too much vinegar). This may be bias opinion since I normally do not like hot and sour soup, but my bf who does also thought it was a bit too sour. I was not a fan of this dish, and will not be ordering again.

Great place to go for some Sichuan/Szechuan food! It's my go-to for convenience and it always gets the job done. It can be hit or miss, in my opinion, nowadays. Sometimes it really hits the spot & some days it's not as good, is what I've noticed. Spice level is also not as high as it used to be either. Most dishes that are "spicy" are pretty mild. I think it is also important to note that this is not what Taiwanese cuisine really is... more so Sichuan food. Taiwanese food tends to have more milder flavors, sweet rather than spicy. I like getting their beef scallion pancake rolls, seafood stir fried noodles, hot & sour fish, dry pot beef & eggplant w/ basil. They offer a great lunch special, one dish for ~$11 and 3 dishes for ~$30. Comes with rice & soup. I recommend this place if you're looking for try something new & enjoy spicy mala food. Lunch special is seriously a deal that cannot be beat. Parking: Good amount of parking on Billings Rd where it's located & there's also free parking lot across the street.

Vinegar shredded potatoes , rice, chicken soup.

Very authentic in taste. Very cheap. Only 11 dollars for lunch. I wish there can be more variety in the dishes we choose rather than be confined to one dish. I ordered vinegar shredded potatoes with rice and chicken soup. The meal came out in less than 5 min.

Got the pork chop noodle soup! Pork chop was nice and crispy, soup felt really "clean" ( no oil.... ). Plenty of noodle for a satisfying dish!

Though I tend to visit this spot during the dinner rush, they've got some yummy dishes on their extensive menu - plus, food usually comes out fresh from the kitchen pretty quickly, despite how busy this restaurant can be! Definitely one of my favorite spots in Quincy, with their snug little ambiance - which frankly makes it easier to go family-style with their dishes, in my honest opinion. Anyway, food-wise, I'd probably say that I enjoy their dry pot dishes the most - with plenty of the flavors of what's being cooked simply seeping into the crisp potatoes and savory veggies. If anything, I'd definitely recommend trying out their dry pot, not only for its lovely tastes but also for its cute lil display. Would come back for more

If you're craving Taiwanese in the South Shore, this is the place to go! I have been here three times in the last six weeks and love introducing friends to this restaurant - Currently the Duchess :) They have lunch specials every day of the week which is a nice treat because you can try variety and not break the bank! The restaurant is clean with quick service and varied seating options to accommodate small and larger groups. Every dish that I've had here is yummmmmmmy! Their roast beef in scallion pancake is always a crowd favorite. The crispness on the scallion pancake and ratio of beef and sauce makes this dish. I'm also a big fan of their dry cooked string beans with minced pork. Taipei cuisine is one of the few restaurants that get this dish perfect every time.

It's been tough trying to find an authentic Taiwanese restaurant in the Greater Boston and so I'm very glad I found this spot! Definitely my go-to for Taiwanese food. They have quick service, and food comes out fresh and quick. Everything had great flavoring like I would expect, and was given lots of food. A small hole in the wall, but feels like a comforting, homey spot to come to for a sit down meal. A few favorites: - Stir-fried Rice Cake with Preserved Veggie and Shredded Pork - Oyster pancake

There used to be a Bank of America ATM right across the street but it seems like it is no longer there unfortunately. Their biang biang noodles are fire & you really can't go wrong with getting the dry version or with soup. Honestly, this has been my favorite spot to get noodles lately. Last week, I literally went here almosevery day for dinner (I wish I was kidding). My favorite dishes to order from here include: - Cumin Lamb Biang Biang Noodles - Cumin Lamb Biang Biang Noodle Soup - Fish Filet with Chili Pepper - Chongching Chicken with Chili Pepper Visually, the dishes don't look like generous portions but actually they're quite filling! The cumin lamb Biang Biang noodles (w/o soup) is generally my go-to because it's SO FLAVORFUL. The lamb is cooked well & doesn't taste gamey at all. It's a tad spicy but won't kill you hahaha. They do have another version of this dish that comes with soup & it's a great option if you're feeling a soup. This also has amazing flavor but of course, not as flavorful as the dry version since it comes with soup. I highly recommend getting the fish filet with chili peppers if you love a fried fish! They make it incredibly crispy without making the fish taste dry. This is perfect with a bowl of rice. Now, the chongching chicken wings have to be the spiciest dish out of my favorites. This is a great snack! I usually get this to share if I'm eating here with a group or if I'm getting takeout, I'll get this as an entree. The pieces are crispy, spicy, and juicy. What more can you ask for? SO GOOD. For dine in, it is Cash Only. If you do takeout and don't have cash/want to go grab cash, what I like to do is order through UberEats. This way, it charges credit card & you can just go in to pick it up or choose for delivery.

Had a long, rough day at work and it hit the spot. Fish was LIGHT, very crispy and fresh. The seasoning and chili peppers were not too spicy and packed with flavor. Grabbed a side of rice to go with it. The cumin lamb was tender, noodles were large flat and had great chew. The flavor depth had salty, spicy, savory... it was just sooo good to slurp! Definitely ordering both dishes again! It was vibrant tonight, people from all walks were stopping in for dinner! It was great for such a tiny cafe restaurant! Support them if you in Quincy!

After doing a quick TikTok search, I was prompted to try out this chicken sandwich from Rubato. We walked over and actually missed it on the street because it's so tiny. After realizing it, we turned around and to our surprise, there were several people inside eating and others waiting. This must be a good sign. We walked in and it was the most casual, laid-back establishment. The green color scheme and plants gave it a more earthy vibe, which I absolutely loved. Since we didn't necessarily know what to order we decided to split the fried chicken bolo. When I tell you, I have not stopped thinking about that sandwich since I ate it, I'm not kidding. Ever since Double Chin Restaurant in Chinatown closed (may she rise again), I've been on a mission to find a worthy fried chicken bolo bao. My friend and I trudged into Rubato on a cold, rainy day, hoping for a replacement. Spoiler alert: we did not find one. We ordered four items: rice rolls with curry fish balls, an egg custard lava bun, Ovaltine French toast, and the fried chicken bolo bao. The rice rolls were mild but fine, topped with enough cilantro and scallion to keep it interesting. The lava bun was hot, gooey, and did its job. (GOOD JOB, LAVA BUN!) The Ovaltine French toast? Eh, it aite. But here's the heartbreak: the chicken bolo bao. The chicken wasn't hot; it had that "sat around" feeling. And the bun? Just a dressed-up brioche, missing that true bo lo bao magic. A brioche bun with a crackly top is not a bo lo bao, my dudes. In short, everything was edible, but nothing made me want to come back. (It's not like watching like a hawk for an empty seat and swooping in the moment one opens up is any fun.) The chicken deserved better.

We ordered a rice roll as usual--the female owner accidentally handed the dish to another table, and it sat there for about five minutes or so, while the couple was talking over the dish. Then the female owner apparently realized the dish was handed to the wrong table, she took it back into the kitchen (as a deception, thinking we wouldn't realize it's the same dish, we saw her through the curtain, she was holding the same dish the whole time--she didn't know we were watching and rightfully suspicious of what she was sneakily doing), then brought it out right back to our table. We did not want to say anything. But it was disgusting, people do spit onto the dish when they talk over it during those five minutes, you know?
