    Popcorn Chicken

If you're craving some seriously thick, chewy, hand-pulled Biang Biang noodles, Chili Square will definitely satisfy that specific texture craving. The noodles themselves are perfectly executed and have that amazing bite to them, but unfortunately, the sauce left a little to be desired. Even ordering them with just a "little spice," the flavor profile relies heavily on pure capsaicin heat rather than a deeply seasoned, complex sauce. The popcorn chicken was delicious though. It arrived fresh, piping hot, incredibly crispy, and perfectly seasoned--plus, it provided a much-needed palate cleanser to cool down from the noodle heat! The shop itself is clean and typical of a quick, no-frills, grab-and-go Asian restaurant. While the staff has limited English, they are incredibly sweet, patient, and welcoming. If I were having an intense craving for wide noodles I'd pop back in, but otherwise, there are a few better, more flavorful options in the area for Chinese-style noodles.

Small area for sitting. I walked over from the subway, so parking wasn't an issue for me. This is a cash only restaurant. There's no restroom. I did not feel welcomed. When they bought the bowl to me , it felt like she threw the bowl onto the table. The amount of meat felt less than what I usually get from other places. The broth is super tasty and noodles were bouncy/ chewy.

Small no frills restaurant, difficult to seat any parties larger than 4 and can fill up very quickly. Probably the best hand pulled noodles I've had so far in Boston. The spicy fish fillets were good, however over breaded/fried and felt like I was eating more flour than fish at times.

Such a hidden gem mom-and-pop shop! Not many tables but not too busy. Came specifically for the cumin lamb biang biang noodles. The noodles had the perfect chewy texture, and the lamb was very tender and flavorful. Huge bowl for $13 (enough for 2 servings for me), cash only fyi.

I decided to stop by here for dinner on a Friday night when my boyfriend and I were looking for a restaurant that serves spicy Chinese food. The Yelp reviews here were good and I received a recommendation from my cousin who lives locally. When I arrived, there were 2 tables filled and another 2 or 3 empty. The space is not big, but it is clean and modest. I ordered the lamb biang biang noodles which seems to be one of their signature dishes, and the luo si fen snail noodles. The Luo Si Fen was very bland and lacked flavor. It was also not spicy although we asked for extra spicy on both orders. The lamb biang biang noodles, while not spicy, was very savory and flavorful. My boyfriend and I devoured the lamb biang biang noodles and recommend definitely ordering this if you come! Food came out quickly and service was also quick. This place is a nice place to grab a quick bite at decent prices -- I would not recommend ordering dishes that are not their signature (also do not recommend if you love spicy food and are looking for true spicy food.), but if going the recommended dish route, would recommend stopping by here! P.S. There's lots of dessert places nearby and other options so it's a great place to grab food and then hop somewhere else after!

Food: it was amazing strong and flavorful spice with nicely cooked noodles. Definitely gives the "this is some real Chinese cuisine" feel. Both the noodle soup and regular "dry" noodles had a great taste that doesn't go into the "too much going on" territory. I had 3 dishes here but will definitely go back to try others. Water is self-serve from a container near the register. Service: is ok. You'll get served eventually. I'm definitely here more for the food than service. It's a little confusing because the menu took a bit to come out to the table, so I didn't know if there was some other process. There's a QR code on the table but it looked more like delivery and was pretty much all in Chinese (don't know which one). Ambiance: chill spot. It's small, nothing fancy at all, but still clean. It's not winning awards but it's not affecting my enjoyment. Parking: side streets that look residential have plenty of spots within a short walk. Other: for the noodle soup, they have those really flimsy plastic spoons that bend easy. I'd honestly bring my own soup spoon next time. That wasn't very cool.

Chili Square is a very small restaurant so there may be a wait, but the food is worth it! We had the chicken biang biang noodles and Lanzhou beef brisket noodle soup. The broth was hearty and flavorful and both noodles were delicious. If you like spicy, I would ask them to add more chili oil. Ours were mild.

Chili Square needs to be updated to 5 stars. Their hand pulled chewy noodles are addicting and the best you can find in the area. The spice level is perfect and flavors are big. We also tried the beef noodle soup this time and it was delicious. The broth was so flavorful and had that 5 spice taste that kept you going back for more. The noodles in the soup were also top notch. Our kid had 3 servings because he just couldn't get enough. Don't be nervous about ordering from here if you aren't Chinese. I called in an order in English without any issues. Cash only though.

4.2/5! This is definitely my favorite biang biang noodle dish, including restaurants I've tried in Chinatown from New York and Chicago. The chili oil packs so much flavor, and I appreciate the cabbage too. I would prefer the chicken to be white over dark meat, but that's okay. Overall my go-to dish the three times that I've been here. We also decided to try the spicy cumin lamb burger during one of our visits. 3/5 as it was pretty dry, and the flavor was lacking for me. Lastly, we tried the cold skin noodles. It was a lighter and more refreshing option! I really enjoyed the cucumbers, sprouts, and the fried bean curd (?) paired with the chili vinegar-like sauce. Would get this again in the future spring/summer days!

This place accepts CASH ONLY!!! Small noodle place in Wollaston Station area, there are only 6 tables inside. I ordered Biang biang noodles with cumin lamb and lamb kebab. Both are delicious!! Service was prompt, I got my food within 10 mins. The noodle aren't as spicy as I'd expect it to be but definitely check them out for authentic Chinese noodle experience.

This place is a legit hole in the wall. About five or so tables. Very small. Cash only restaurant and very small menu. Tried the biang biang chicken noodles and it was so good. My favorite was the beef noodle soup. It was absolutely delicious. The Korean fried chicken was good as well. Some cold beef came to our table and even though we didn't order it and it was their mistake, they allowed us to enjoy it free of charge. Cannot wait to come back and try more dishes !

Can someone please explain to me why this place accepts "cash only" despite the fact that it obviously is capable of doing online ordering and delivery, for example, at least through the modern system's ChowBus? I can't think of any reason other than tax fraud or at least an attempt thereof... We did ask them whether they would consider taking Venmo or other form of money transfer, but it insisted we walk through the rain to find an ATM to get cash. This took off one star. I came here after experiencing a delicious LanZhou Beef Noodle bowl at a highly rated restaurant in Montreal (see my other review). I gave this Chili place a try hoping for the same experience, but was very disappointed. See pictures. Food was inside, tasteless and bland. The lamb kebab was kind of okay actually. But I'm never coming back here again.

So ofc I had to look it up and find a good dim sum place. I had low expectations going in. We called just to make sure they were open as we realize businesses in MA don't pick up their phones. Not only did someone answer but agreed to save a table for us during prime dim sum hours. (Excuse me...what?). Something is learned in MA is always factor in traffic, no matter what Google Maps says. It's nothing fancy when you walk in. You can tell a lot of locals hang up and meet up with friends here. Ah Wah welcomed us in, being seated immediately to the table along the wall, near the storage. But...they DID. The owner said the chef was from HKG and could make anything I wanted . The flavors were so nostalgic. Not only did the owner and manager stop by to chat, but the customers sitting next to us joined in. Everyone was so nice and welcoming like the other Bostonians we encountered on our trip. Ngl, I considered moving here just for the food and atmosphere. Probably one of the best dim sums I've had in the States and probably in HKG. Everything was steamed to perfection. It's been weeks and I am still thinking about my meal here, wondering when I can fly back to Boston again. Hopefully sooner than later. Definitely be back be for another trip with my parents, esp after we raved about this place here Overall, 4.5

We ordered a rice roll as usual--the female owner accidentally handed the dish to another table, and it sat there for about five minutes or so, while the couple was talking over the dish. Then the female owner apparently realized the dish was handed to the wrong table, she took it back into the kitchen (as a deception, thinking we wouldn't realize it's the same dish, we saw her through the curtain, she was holding the same dish the whole time--she didn't know we were watching and rightfully suspicious of what she was sneakily doing), then brought it out right back to our table. We did not want to say anything. But it was disgusting, people do spit onto the dish when they talk over it during those five minutes, you know? We were too shy to cause a scene or destroy the long standing relationship. Further, we couldn't afford to let that $12 or so dish go to waste. So we tried eating it. Afterward, we felt so disgusted. And that was the last time we went to Big Fun Cafe. Two years or so ago. Even after learning of its new location in Brookline, we are just so disgusted by the memory of the incident described above -- so we never tried their Brookline location. Note to the owners: for future customers, such mistakes do happen, but please have some integrity and just discard/trash the contaminated dish -- or if you want to be so cheap, eat the contaminated dishes yourself. Don't be so stingy and deceptive so as to hand it to your presumed naive customers. That was extremely disgusting and even two years later, we're still disgusted by it.
