    Cumin Lamb Biang Biang Noodle

Such a hidden gem mom-and-pop shop! Not many tables but not too busy. Came specifically for the cumin lamb biang biang noodles. The noodles had the perfect chewy texture, and the lamb was very tender and flavorful. Huge bowl for $13 (enough for 2 servings for me), cash only fyi.

I decided to stop by here for dinner on a Friday night when my boyfriend and I were looking for a restaurant that serves spicy Chinese food. The Yelp reviews here were good and I received a recommendation from my cousin who lives locally. When I arrived, there were 2 tables filled and another 2 or 3 empty. The space is not big, but it is clean and modest. I ordered the lamb biang biang noodles which seems to be one of their signature dishes, and the luo si fen snail noodles. The Luo Si Fen was very bland and lacked flavor. It was also not spicy although we asked for extra spicy on both orders. The lamb biang biang noodles, while not spicy, was very savory and flavorful. My boyfriend and I devoured the lamb biang biang noodles and recommend definitely ordering this if you come! Food came out quickly and service was also quick. This place is a nice place to grab a quick bite at decent prices -- I would not recommend ordering dishes that are not their signature (also do not recommend if you love spicy food and are looking for true spicy food.), but if going the recommended dish route, would recommend stopping by here! P.S. There's lots of dessert places nearby and other options so it's a great place to grab food and then hop somewhere else after!

Chili Square is a very small restaurant so there may be a wait, but the food is worth it! We had the chicken biang biang noodles and Lanzhou beef brisket noodle soup. The broth was hearty and flavorful and both noodles were delicious. If you like spicy, I would ask them to add more chili oil. Ours were mild.

Chili Square needs to be updated to 5 stars. Their hand pulled chewy noodles are addicting and the best you can find in the area. The spice level is perfect and flavors are big. We also tried the beef noodle soup this time and it was delicious. The broth was so flavorful and had that 5 spice taste that kept you going back for more. The noodles in the soup were also top notch. Our kid had 3 servings because he just couldn't get enough. Don't be nervous about ordering from here if you aren't Chinese. I called in an order in English without any issues. Cash only though.

4.2/5! This is definitely my favorite biang biang noodle dish, including restaurants I've tried in Chinatown from New York and Chicago. The chili oil packs so much flavor, and I appreciate the cabbage too. I would prefer the chicken to be white over dark meat, but that's okay. Overall my go-to dish the three times that I've been here. We also decided to try the spicy cumin lamb burger during one of our visits. 3/5 as it was pretty dry, and the flavor was lacking for me. Lastly, we tried the cold skin noodles. It was a lighter and more refreshing option! I really enjoyed the cucumbers, sprouts, and the fried bean curd (?) paired with the chili vinegar-like sauce. Would get this again in the future spring/summer days!

This place accepts CASH ONLY!!! Small noodle place in Wollaston Station area, there are only 6 tables inside. I ordered Biang biang noodles with cumin lamb and lamb kebab. Both are delicious!! Service was prompt, I got my food within 10 mins. The noodle aren't as spicy as I'd expect it to be but definitely check them out for authentic Chinese noodle experience.

This place is a legit hole in the wall. About five or so tables. Very small. Cash only restaurant and very small menu. Tried the biang biang chicken noodles and it was so good. My favorite was the beef noodle soup. It was absolutely delicious. The Korean fried chicken was good as well. Some cold beef came to our table and even though we didn't order it and it was their mistake, they allowed us to enjoy it free of charge. Cannot wait to come back and try more dishes !

Chili Square has yummy hand pulled noodles!! My favorites to get include: Lanzhou Beef brisket noodle soup, Chongqing chicken with chili peppers (10/10 recommend), and the cumin lamb biang biang noodle. The Chongqing chicken is AMAZING! Perfect amount of spice (it is kind of spicy if you don't normally eat spicy) and the chicken is juicy. The cumin lamb biang biang noodles are my go-to when I don't want noodle soup. Everything about it, from the lamb to the hand pulled noodles... SO GOOD! Chili Square is cash only though so be prepared with cash! There is a Bank of America ATM located across the street. & I believe if you order for take out via Ubereats, etc, you can use ApplePay or card to pay.

Stopped in, haven't been since grand opening but it seems they have changed the space a bit with new colors on the wall etc. Pricing is par for the course these days most items being 18.95+ We were just in the area and wanted the chicken dish. It had heavy cumin seasoning flavor and peppers fried to perfection. The chicken was moist and tender, comes right off the bones. They basically look like chicken wings cut into 3. To make chicken cubes. Very small space with few tables though so you can definitely eat on 4 tops for dine in. Elder lady took our order and it took about 10 minutes on a Sunday night, i believe open until 9:30pm

Can someone please explain to me why this place accepts "cash only" despite the fact that it obviously is capable of doing online ordering and delivery, for example, at least through the modern system's ChowBus? I can't think of any reason other than tax fraud or at least an attempt thereof... We did ask them whether they would consider taking Venmo or other form of money transfer, but it insisted we walk through the rain to find an ATM to get cash. This took off one star. I came here after experiencing a delicious LanZhou Beef Noodle bowl at a highly rated restaurant in Montreal (see my other review). I gave this Chili place a try hoping for the same experience, but was very disappointed. See pictures. Food was inside, tasteless and bland. The lamb kebab was kind of okay actually. But I'm never coming back here again.

Chili Square always hits when you want some good Biang Biang Noodles and Sizchuan dishes. Ugh, I was craving this kind of food all day and Chili square HIT THE SPOT. Favorite dish: Cumin Lamb Biang Biang Noodles Ugh and with vinegar on top of the noodles SO GOOD and UMAMI Food was served very fast and it's easy to get water and bowls in your own. Love how efficient and cozy the place is. The server is also very sweet (:

I've been meaning to go to Chili Square for a while, and finally made it on my last trip to Quincy. The restaurant is small (maybe 5 tables), and most everything is self service in front of the counter (including water, styrofoam side bowls, utensils, napkins). It's also cash only. Overall I enjoyed some of the things I had here, but probably wouldn't come back. The beef noodle soup had nice flavor, The biangbiang noodles were good but not my favorite, and the chicken (bone, skin on) was quite tender with good flavor. The spicy fish fillet was huge and had a good amount of fish, but one of the fillets seemed a bit undercooked... Cucumbers cooked in the spicy broth was also an interesting choice. The chongqing chicken was coated in chili powder, which I didn't enjoy so much, and didn't have much savory flavor. Overall I had a pleasant experience here, but there's nothing here that I wouldn't rather get at a different restaurant.

It's a hole in the wall type of place where you get your own water, cups, forks styrofoam bowls and napkins. The server literally throws the menu at you, doesn't crack a smile but the food is decent. If you can handle the spice this place is for you. Ambiance ? If you don't mind listening to your neighbors's conversation, you'll be eating well and also entertained. Cash only.

We ordered a rice roll as usual--the female owner accidentally handed the dish to another table, and it sat there for about five minutes or so, while the couple was talking over the dish. Then the female owner apparently realized the dish was handed to the wrong table, she took it back into the kitchen (as a deception, thinking we wouldn't realize it's the same dish, we saw her through the curtain, she was holding the same dish the whole time--she didn't know we were watching and rightfully suspicious of what she was sneakily doing), then brought it out right back to our table. We did not want to say anything. But it was disgusting, people do spit onto the dish when they talk over it during those five minutes, you know? We were too shy to cause a scene or destroy the long standing relationship. Further, we couldn't afford to let that $12 or so dish go to waste. So we tried eating it. Afterward, we felt so disgusted. And that was the last time we went to Big Fun Cafe. Two years or so ago. Even after learning of its new location in Brookline, we are just so disgusted by the memory of the incident described above -- so we never tried their Brookline location. Note to the owners: for future customers, such mistakes do happen, but please have some integrity and just discard/trash the contaminated dish -- or if you want to be so cheap, eat the contaminated dishes yourself. Don't be so stingy and deceptive so as to hand it to your presumed naive customers. That was extremely disgusting and even two years later, we're still disgusted by it.

Cloud Asian Fusion is in the corner of the plaza that houses China Pearl and Kam Man, to the right of Kam Man. It is a long narrow type space. Rather industrial, and concrete. I arrived first and scored the last table in the room with the bar, only to later discover that there were a few tables in the room in the back to the right. My DCs were running late, so I gave our waiter a head's up. He never made me feel bad for taking up the space. And it helped that there was never a queue waiting to be seated that Sunday night. We each ordered our own meal while sharing bites. While there are a few entrees at Cloud Asian Fusion that include both protein and vegetable, such as the Braised White Fish $22 (assorted mushrooms, fried tofu) one DC ordered, mine (Siam Crab Curry $22 - lump crab, spicy red curry, basil, bean sprouts, Thai Chili, thin rice noodles) and my other DC's (Mapo Katsu $16 (chicken katsu, mapo sauce, short grain white rice, furikake) came without (I don't count the small stash of raw bean sprouts on my plate), so I added the blistered green beans $16. Our server was pleasant and told me that they could make anything less mild. Even so, the slow burn from the milder Siam Crab Curry was a bit more than I would have liked. He checked up on me and offered to have the chef prepare a fresh batch with a milder curry powder instead, so I could better enjoy my meal. The original orange yellow of my crab curry bowl was turned a green yellow in its replacement. But it was still tasty, and still generous with lump crab meat. This was a good pick! The green bean vegetable dish was quite good too. I was happy with my meal. I sampled the other two dishes and found the regular mapo sauce recipe too spicy for my taste. The fish dish was tasty, but we found nothing especially fusion about it. 3 stars all around experience, but 4 stars for my own meal.

You can try the trio appetizer that lets you try the fish ball, fish dumpling, and rice rolls. It's the right amount to share with three people and each person gets a taste of the three appetizers. My favorite had to be the rice balls, followed by the fish dumplings, and last the rice noodles. Of the toasts I have tried so far, I preferred the sweet toast dessert filled with milk as opposed to the truffle egg toast. For entree, I have to say, the fried chicken with the omelet egg is a must try. Next would be the Hainese chicken. Then third with be the sorrowful rice, which is two fried eggs and bbq pork. Everything was so flavorful. You have to try the milk teas. If you prefer sweet, go for the ice bear milk tea, but if you like a bit bitter, go for the hot version and add sugar to your preference.
