My husband and I received a gift certificate here, so we headed here for a date lunch. What we weren't expecting was to find a true 5 star gem hidden in Adams Village! The team working were so incredibly welcoming, especially Erin, Patrick, and Regina. It was difficult to land on a dish...the menu alone can make your mouth water! We sat at the bar in full view of the open kitchen, which was impeccably clean! We ordered the aronchini, squash blossoms, veal parm and braised short rib ravioli. These people are obviously paying for positive reviews. This is the dirtiest, low effort, health disaster of a restaurant I've ever seen in my life. Here's why: 1. I clearly observed the cooks put food into containers with their bare hands. They made multiple contacts with cooked with with their bare hands. Let's hope they not also handling uncooked foods with those hands! 2. One of the cooks wiped his hands on the butt area of his dirty smock. You can tell this was a habitual move because the smock was dirty already in the back where he wiped his hands. 3. My man washed out his pan, and then right in front of me rinsed his hands in the water that went into the pot that he cooked my food in! You can't make this up! Thank God I didn't order fried rice. Lord knows how old and roach infested it would have been. All I can say is they must be making a ton of money. Not only are the reviewers paid off, but the health inspectors, local police, Boston licensing authority etc. If they put this restaurant next to a pile of paper restaurant violations I don't think I would be able to tell the difference. read more

I just moved to the area and one of my main things to do when moving is to find a good Chinese food place that's close by. I was walking around one day and saw this place. Walking distance by my house I said I'll give it a try. :/ the food wasn't good at all. I ordered the general gau's chicken. The sauce was very bland, and the chicken was so chewy and tasteless. I only took like three bites before I decided I couldn't stomach anymore. The staff there were very nice and talkative. That's the only reason I'm giving them two stars. We got their menu in the mail and realized it's been a long time we gave them a shot. So we ordered way to much food and had it delivered. The delivery driver actually answered the phone and said it would be 45 minutes. And it was that on the dot. The food 2as hot, fresh, and delicious. This is a good place to get Chinese Food. It is not a very fancy place and it is small but the food is awesome. The dishes they serve here are pretty much what you'd find in any other Chinese restaurant so you're sure to find a lot of your favorites here. They have all day combination specials and there are 28 of them to pick from. They range in price from $8 to $11 for dinner and during lunchtime you will pay a dollar less for each combination special. Lunchtime runs from opening until 3 PM. The combination plates include a main dish such as Cashew Chicken, Beef with Broccoli, Shrimp Tofu, Egg Foo Young, Curry Chicken and such and they are all served with a choice of Pork Fried Rice or White Rice. They also give you the option of Meatless Lo Mein instead of rice. And for $2.50 you can add an appetizer to your plate such as Chicken Wings, Pork Strips, Crab Rangoon, etc. There is one combination special where instead of having a main dish you will get a choice of two appetizers plus any kind of fried rice that you want and that is what I ordered. I ended up picking Chicken Wings, Chicken Fingers and Shrimp Fried Rice. There is also a similar combination special where you get two appetizers and instead of the rice you will get any kind of Lo Mein. I was here at about 4 o'clock in the afternoon which is kind of between lunch and dinner so the place was pretty slow in fact I was the only one in there. I saw some delivery orders leaving the place and takeout orders being put together so that kind of tells me that they do mostly takeout and delivery here. They do have four tables in case you decide to eat right in the restaurant which is what I did. There is a restroom there if you need it and I was kind of surprised to see that because often if you see a place with so little seating, 4 tables or less, the places don't have restrooms. I did notice that the restroom was very clean. The dining area was also clean. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was that there really was not very good air conditioning. They did have ceiling fans but the weather was so hot today that air conditioning would have been so much better. The portions are very generous here and the food tasted great. Very fresh. There is no table service here. You order at the counter and then go and grab your meal from the counter once it has been prepared. The people working at the counter were all very nice. We had takeout from China Sky this evening. This was our first visit. We were intrigued by the sixties/seventies style sign and were hoping for a period era sit down Chinese restaurant. However we found ourselves in a small takeout place with a few tables for eat-in (after ordering and paying). We ordered a number of items for takeout: triple delight, pork egg foo young, shrimp and lobster sauce, chicken wings and crab rangoons. The egg foo young wasn't too greasy and had decent taste. The gravy wasn't too oily either. The triple delight had a small kick to it; we were surprised by that as we did not expect it to be spicy. I didn't feel that there was enough cream cheese in the crab rangoon, but otherwise it was good. Overall the food was good and the prices reasonable. Also, like many Chinese places, we are finding that many dishes do not come with rice (like in the Midwest from where we moved). The food was prepared pretty quickly (it took maybe 15 minutes to make). The place is located at a busy intersection in Dorchester (Gallivan and Adams). There is plenty of metered street parking. I think there is a parking lot for the building, but not too sure. read more

I was calling to place an order and someone named Jimmy claiming to be the owner interrupted me in the middle of placing my order saying "Nope!". When I asked him to explain him self he said that what I wanted wasn't offered, when I told him I had ordered it before he simply kept saying "No, no, no." Seemed perfectly typical. The menu calls it spicy, but it's spicy on the scale set by local Irish grandmas, meaning not spicy. On the other hand, if I'd leaned across the counter, put my hand on Jackie's arm and said, "Jackie, man, can you get this stuff done spicy for me?" I am sure he would have got it done. Dinner special with white rice, $6.95, what's to complain? Two bucks more will get two chicken wings added. The chicken wings are pretty good! Lots of five-spice in the marinade. Salty and flavorful. I will say these wings are not juicy. I suspect they are par-fried, then re-fried to order, which is not unusual for Chinese takeout. The procedure makes the chicken less juicy, more firm, and makes the skin more brown. In short, these wings are typical, but a little heartier in the five-spice department than usual. Then, they took more then 20 minutes to complete my order. I was beginning to think they forgot about me. When I finally received my food, it wasn't what I ordered.
