Came since we were craving some Pho and were happy with what we received! We got their classic Pho Dac Biet and were pleasantly surprised by the portion size. They were generous in giving lots of meats, noodles, bean sprouts & thai basil. The soup broth itself was hearty and comforting. I also got one of their Viet Coffees which was okay. It didn't really taste like much to be honest. In terms of service, the staff were kind & efficient. Overall, would say it was a solid 4/5 experience.

Delicious! Just dined in for a late lunch and got thai iced tea, pho with rare steak and brisket, and my partner got the pho with meatballs. Really great broth and meat and the tea wasn't too sweet. Good service, beautiful restaurant. We'll definitely be back for more pho!

First and last time here. Slow service. Pho was ok, not bad. Generous portion though, lots of meat. Che dat biet was a total waste of money. Took them what felt like forever to put this together all to come out like this.

First things first, thank you, Phở Pasteur for being open on Christmas. I found myself needing to buy some lunch, and you were there for me. As for the experience: The service had a bit of a rocky start. I found myself almost invisible for the first five minutes. "I'll be right with you, sir" is all it would have taken. However, after that, it was a climb into five-star territory steeper than I could have imagined. Plus, I appreciate and understand that the entire front of the house was being run by one waiter and one bartender. I ordered a Beef Noodle Soup {only comes in Large (#16) or X-Large (#15)} Now, I'm going to level with you: was this bowl a work of art? No. However, it has everything else going for it! This bowl of goodness came out fresh and hot in two minutes despite the restaurant being notably busy at the time. The broth was flavorful and savory without being overloaded with salt. All the ingredients, including the noodles, vegetables, and meats were balanced and in proper amounts. Finally, $13.50 for a large and filling bowl of Pho is a phenomenal value, and after the initial wait, the service was just fine. Thus, while Phở Pasteur likely won't be on my Hall of Fame, I can definitely see myself returning! With that, my Yelp 100 challenge for 2023 is complete. Happy New Year everyone!

    2. FRESH SPRING ROLLS (OIL LESS) (2 ROLLS)

This is my to go pho spot. I got the large beef pho, fresh spring rolls, and a Thai tea. They were all delicious. There are sauces and utensils already on the tables as well. It is a big and spacious place with a lot of natural light and greenery. Although our server didn't understand a lot of English, she still was super attentive and friendly which is what matters! Affordable and their food always hits.

First off, this Pho Pasteur is way better than the one in Chinatown! I came here with a friend on a Thursday night and we were the only table. They seem to do a lot of take out here and have a dedicated delivery service table by the door. The restaurant is pretty big and spacious with 15 or so tables. I ordered the XL Combination Pho for $13.50 and it was huge with a large amount of meat and noodles. The broth was hearty and I drank most of it. I also recommend their rice places, but would pass on their vermicelli dishes. Each table has a bottle of tabasco and hoisin sauce. The mango smoothie was good and it wasn't too sweet. For the quality, quantity, and price, it was a deal. The service was average for an asian restaurant and the bathrooms were clean.

I sought out Pho Pasteur-Quincy because I had a hankering for Cahn Chua Tôm. I hadn't had it in quite a long time and I enjoyed it immensely. We also had spring rolls, wonton noodle soup, and chicken wings. I enjoyed everything, though my youthful companion was less adventurous than usual and stuck primarily to white rice. I might need to stick to Indian and ramen for her until her palate gets a little more ecumenical.

    Kelly Z.

I came here a few months ago and the quality is still as good as ever! My go to is the Bun Bo Hue and its a little bit spicy and its so good! Lots of noodles and lots of meat! Just great great flavors in in the broth. The pork chop rice place is also one of my favorites, the pork chop is marinated perfectly and its super tender and juicy! Great portions and great flavors. Service was okay, but could be better.

One of my favorite places to go for pho and spring rolls. The portions are incredibly fulfilling at affordable prices without sacrificing taste. The waiters were welcoming and seated us immediately with the food coming out very quickly. Each table provides many sauces and seasonings to customize the meal to your taste as well.

    29. BUN BO HUE
    Brian T.

The most underrated pho spot in Quincy. This bowl of BBH was on point. Flavor of broth was heavy, generous portion of meat to noodle ratio. Only thing that sucks about this place is the parking situation but there's a garage nearby and they offer all the food delivery services. Still tastes better dining in and the service is always good

Really authentic and yummy. Vietnamese beef stew was so hearty and filling. Lots of tender beef in the soup. Pork and shrimp spring rolls dipped in the peanut, hoisin and siracha sauce was amazing. Very fresh ingredients. Food came out really fast.

I put the bone in a separate bowl to cool down, then pick it up with my hands and get my caveman nom noms on. They have pretty big portions. I've started eating half, bringing half home, and still having a pretty big lunch the next day. I also love ordering their popcorn chicken. It is just the right savory, spicy, lip-smacking flavor. They usually have a special. This time, it was buy one special drink, get one free; that is like an $8 savings! Affordability! Don't sleep on their shaved ice desserts. I got the pork bone soup with noodles, and the soup is flavorful but not heavy, a great clean broth. Drinks are pretty decent here too, a little bit of a bubble tea selection. The popcorn chicken always slaps, always fresh, salty savory, and crispy. Noodles are cooked perfectly and I love that they're served in the side so you can control how fast you eat without the noodles getting soggy, and you can keep leftovers separate. My friends and I got there on the later side because we got held up at an event, but they still served us with so much kindness and patience. Ambiance is average, well kept. Lots of street parking in the area but also a 2hr parking lot just a five minute walk away. Would definitely go back!

They have remodeled the…read morerestaurant since the last time I've visited... such a nice upgrade ;) Keep in mind, Chili Square is CASH ONLY so make sure to have some cash on you. There used to be a Bank of America ATM right across the street but it seems like it is no longer there unfortunately. Their biang biang noodles are fire & you really can't go wrong with getting the dry version or with soup. Honestly, this has been my favorite spot to get noodles lately. Last week, I literally went here almosevery day for dinner (I wish I was kidding). My favorite dishes to order from here include: - Cumin Lamb Biang Biang Noodles - Cumin Lamb Biang Biang Noodle Soup - Fish Filet with Chili Pepper - Chongching Chicken with Chili Pepper Visually, the dishes don't look like generous portions but actually they're quite filling! The cumin lamb Biang Biang noodles (w/o soup) is generally my go-to because it's SO FLAVORFUL. The lamb is cooked well & doesn't taste gamey at all. It's a tad spicy but won't kill you hahaha. They do have another version of this dish that comes with soup & it's a great option if you're feeling a soup. This also has amazing flavor but of course, not as flavorful as the dry version since it comes with soup. I highly recommend getting the fish filet with chili peppers if you love a fried fish! They make it incredibly crispy without making the fish taste dry. This is perfect with a bowl of rice. Now, the chongching chicken wings have to be the spiciest dish out of my favorites. This is a great snack! I usually get this to share if I'm eating here with a group or if I'm getting takeout, I'll get this as an entree. The pieces are crispy, spicy, and juicy. What more can you ask for? SO GOOD. For dine in, it is Cash Only. If you do takeout and don't have cash/want to go grab cash, what I like to do is order through UberEats. This way, it charges credit card & you can just go in to pick it up or choose for delivery.

Chili Square is a small Chinese restaurant specializing in hand-pulled noodles and Northwestern…read moreChinese cuisine. We walked into a simple, modest space with only a handful of tables, the kind of casual neighborhood eatery where the focus is clearly on the food rather than the surroundings. The dining room was tight and functional, with a no-frills setup that kept the attention on the noodles coming out of the kitchen. The energy was practical and unpretentious, and the steady flow of customers reflected its reputation as a destination for anyone craving authentic Chinese noodle dishes. The hand-pulled noodles are the highlight of the menu. We ordered a few different styles and found the Biang Biang noodles standing out with their wide, chewy texture that held up well to the bold sauces. The Lanzhou beef noodle soup offered a lighter broth paired with freshly stretched noodles that had a clean, satisfying bite. The spicy lamb hand-pulled noodles were another popular choice, combining tender meat with a flavorful sauce that had a satisfying amount of heat. Beyond the noodles, the cumin lamb burger, steamed dumplings, and cold skin noodles provided plenty of variety if we wanted to explore more of the menu. Each dish arrived hot and well assembled, and the portions were generous for the price. The restaurant operates with a very straightforward, self-service style. Seating is limited, and the dining room fills up quickly during busy hours, so waiting for a table is common. The service is fairly minimal, with the emphasis placed on getting the food out rather than providing a full-service dining experience. Water and utensils are self-serve, and the overall experience feels more like grabbing an authentic meal than dining somewhere with polished hospitality. It is also worth knowing that Chili Square is cash only, so planning ahead will save you from any surprises when it is time to pay. The staff moved through the room efficiently, and the noodles came out hot and freshly pulled. Overall, Chili Square is a great choice if you are looking for authentic hand-pulled noodles and bold Northwestern Chinese flavors. The small space, cash-only policy, and simple service require a little flexibility, but the freshly made noodles and generous portions make it well worth the visit if the food is your main priority.

We ordered a rice roll as usual--the female owner accidentally handed the dish to another table, and it sat there for about five minutes or so, while the couple was talking over the dish. Then the female owner apparently realized the dish was handed to the wrong table, she took it back into the kitchen (as a deception, thinking we wouldn't realize it's the same dish, we saw her through the curtain, she was holding the same dish the whole time--she didn't know we were watching and rightfully suspicious of what she was sneakily doing), then brought it out right back to our table. We did not want to say anything. But it was disgusting, people do spit onto the dish when they talk over it during those five minutes, you know? We were too shy to cause a scene or destroy the long standing relationship. Further, we couldn't afford to let that $12 or so dish go to waste. So we tried eating it. Afterward, we felt so disgusted. And that was the last time we went to Big Fun Cafe. Two years or so ago. Even after learning of its new location in Brookline, we are just so disgusted by the memory of the incident described above -- so we never tried their Brookline location. Note to the owners: for future customers, such mistakes do happen, but please have some integrity and just discard/trash the contaminated dish -- or if you want to be so cheap, eat the contaminated dishes yourself. Don't be so stingy and deceptive so as to hand it to your presumed naive customers. That was extremely disgusting and even two years later, we're still disgusted by it.
