Ordered online.. lady calls me and says I am too far to deliver so I have to add another entree. This is a trick they use. My bill was 30$. Had it been 20$ they still would have called. The minimum states 15$. There is a delivery fee. Also a delivery zone. They say 5 miles is too far but they'll do it if you pay. This time I questioned it and said cancel my order and she immediately said " no no you loyal customer I want to make you happy " well if she was sincere than I appreciate it but behind it my food was absolute shit. It was thrown out. Everything cold and soupy. The generals chicken wasn't in the right sauce. The bourbon chicken had a weird taste and smell of like mint(cleaning chemical) the crab ragoons were absolutely atrocious. Soggy. Cramped in a bag. Do not order from them. Owner is rude screams at you the entire time you're on the phone, they never complete an order or follow instruction. Still waiting for our last order to be complete. If you want rude, screaming and to be told your not listening to me multiple times. We gave them a second chance, never again. So we will stick with pearl garden, bamboo and pho Thai Nam. This place is terrible. I placed an order with them and the dish was cooked completely wrong and and they didn't even give us the sauce that was an integral part of the dish. There wasn't a single other person in the place, how do you mess up something like that when you aren't busy? The fried rice in another other dish was mediocre at best and the spicy dish was bland and not sweet. I'd give them 0/5 stars if I could! I'll never eat from this place for the rest of my life! My wife and I got takeout come here for the first time tonight. Ordering online was easy and the food was ready in 15 min. The food is "American" Chinese done in a very nice way. Packaging was excellent with plastic containers that make it easy to save leftovers Wonton Soup was tasty with lots of wontons Fried Dumplings were very good My wife's General Tso chicken was excellent, crispy and delicious My Szechuan Beef was very good, just not hot enough for me......I like dishes so hot my mouth burns. Crispy noodles, lots of sauces and fortune cookies were in the takeout bag. I have to say that this was a really good experience getting takeout from China Star. Ordered a late night meal for me and my family and had it delivered from this new neighborhood chinese take out joint. Unlike other local chinese restaurants in the Blue Bell area, the cost was reasonable and they deliver! Food was yummy. And to top it off, the delivery service was super quick. These folks are located where the old Pudge's used to be before they moved to the shopping strip mall next door. China star offers such a great menu, and offers such enjoyable flavor in food. I have tried many other Chinese Restaurants but none compare to China star. The service is always great. Whenever I call to place an order not only am I treated as a valued customer but my order is ready in a timely manner. I enjoy eating large amounts of food which is one of the main reasons I continue to return, the food portions are large which is perfect! Overall I give a 5 star rating. The food was not bad, but I had an issue with the delivery. I placed an order online and got a confirmation email, but no eta. After an hour I called to check on my order and was told they didn't receive it. After 5 minutes of insisting that I have an email confirmation and my credit card was charged, the lady on the phone told me that she found the order ticket and would send my order asap. The final result: I got my food 1 hour and 25 minutes after placing the order and they made no effort to make up for the delay. While I didn't ask for anything, I did expect them to take off the delivery fee...or throw in a free egg roll...or something for making me wait because they didn't see the email with my order. read more
