My family has lived in the Skippack township for almost 25 yrs and we've tried many chinese restaurants in the surrounding area until Liu Garden opened up over 15 yrs ago. The owners are nice, courteous and provide good customer service. Liu Garden is on our family's take-out food rotation, usually ordering out 2 times a month. We love Liu Garden's food and have introduced many people to it, who unanimously feel the quality in taste , flavor and value is very good. Food was excellent! I went with pretty standard items like a spring roll, steamed pork dumplings; shrimp Fried rice and Szechuan chicken. We found this gem last year (2025) while in search of a new Chinese restaurant and I think we found it! The egg rolls are delicious and crunchy, not greasy like some places. I tested them with Moo Goo Gai Pan. I love chicken with Chinese vegetables; a lot of other restaurants fill this meal with American green peppers, celery, or even squash. Liu Garden keeps this meal filled with bok choy, bamboo shoots, water chestnuts, and more. The chicken is tender and the sauce can hold it's own! My girls enjoy chicken and broccoli with white rice, and this simple dish keeps them happy. We never knew this place when it was a sit-down restaurant, but the fact that it is only take out would never take away from the great taste of the food. Also, the only time we had a long wait for our order was on Christmas eve, but that was expected. Always quick service and so far, we have not had a bad meal. Great takeout. Never had a 'bad' meal. Not crazy about their chow mien noodles, but overall it is plentiful. Loads of Shrimp or Scallops in whatever dish you order. The service is phenomenal, you call and they simply ask what do you want. Now being presented with this question a lot comes through my mind. This restaurant is willing to fulfill all of my hopes and dreams. Of course I go with a classic and 10 minutes later I'm presented with my large beef lomein. Now this bugger is packed so full it can feed the whole family. Not only is the quantity of food amazing, the taste is unmatched to any Chinese food I've ever had. The fact that they have a "lovely" restaurant is overshadowed by the "blockade" at the front lobby. Another "NO ENTRY" establishment that has gone to the "NON-HOSPITALITY" customer treatment side: TAKE-OUT ONLY. Whoever writes the "glowing" reviews is not familiar with "Seated Dining". Staff is non-existent and interested in only churning out the factory food. Sure, Take-out has its advantages for "Shut-ins", but consider that a family party might like to be seated and served. Not the welcoming place it once was. So Sad this is what has become of the restaurant business. May i suggest a "storefront" approach? Clearly one of the best Chinese places in the area. Located in a typical strip mall this mom and pop restaurant slowly but steadily pumps out very high quality delicious food. Everything I have ordered has been wonderful however the only negatives are that it's basically a two person run restaurant with one in the kitchen the other answering phones taking orders packing and acting as cashier and waitress this makes the service painfully slow but the reward if you're willing to wait is delicious food! I recommend this place to everyone who wants some good, but fairly cheap, Chinese food. My only bads here occurred when I ordered sesame chicken. They told me they didnt know cause a lot of there food is prebought. I prefer homecook chinese food which is why i slowly started going to JJ Cusine, everything they cook there is by the order. The food is not fantastic but many of the dishes, like the Singapore Mei Fun, are really good. Wing', the Chinese guy from work, loves it. Says it is better than most of the restaurant in Philadelphia where he lives. He constantly gets it. It is my favorite too. If you decide to eat in the decor is not cheap but leans to a more upscale feel. However this does not hurt the price of the food. The husband (cook) and wife (hostess) team that run it have been here for a few years so the quality you are getting is going to be there for a while. They are very friendly also. We went to this restaurant in a pinch and were seriously disappointed to the point in which I had to walk out. The food was sub-par and the service was unacceptable. My boyfriend and I love Liu Garden. Always consistent no matter if we eat there or take out, which we primarily take out because we rather eat in the comfort of our own home but never had bad service when we ate there. I must say, they are the reason I started eating fried rice. I use to always order white, but their fried rice is pretty tasty. I've also branched out to try different dishes when I order there instead of getting my usual beef or chicken w/ broccoli because everything is always good. The food is great. The spicy is a little bland, but you do have the option of requesting levels of heat so it's not a big deal if you know that. The menu is a decent size so if you like to mix it up every now and again, there are many options to choose from. People come and go with take out orders constantly. went to liu garden for lunch they didn't give us water. We brought our own water in plus owner gets upset on it. my mom ordered chicken with fried rice that was hot however the spring rolls were like not good it had no taste to it. I tried the fried ragoon that was good it was hot but it had less cheese in it and it was small the Chinese noodles was old not fresh duck sauce was bad it was old, the sweet and sour sauce tasted like duck sauce the tea was cold not hot no fresh tea bag in it only 1 and it was lite. My wife and I have eaten/ordered from here for over 4 years. The quality of the food has gone steadily downhill - NOTE THE DATES OF THE POSITIVE REVIEWS. It has been several years since we have eaten in the restaurant due to terrible service we have received in the restaurant and truly dirty conditions in the sit down area (multiple unbused tables, seated at a dirty table). We ordered takeout last night that was absolutely the last straw. Beef lo mein - 4 small pieces of beef in entire order - weighed it - 1 oz. Egg drop soup - basically a clear broth. Called restaurant with concerns immediately upon arriving home and was completely and rudely dismissed - no offer to remake/replace, told that dishes were properly made and that I was wrong. Upon further review found that the fried noodles in our order had been prepared in rancid oil. It is a shame that current management of the restaurant has let the operation slip so badly and now threats customers so poorly. We will not return and suggest that others avoid this establishment at all costs. read more

This Chinese restaurant is pretty solid, and way better than most others in the Skippack area. The steamed shrimp dumplings were delicious. The hot and sour soup was ok; it got its heat from red chili peppers, not from white pepper as the traditional recipe would demand. The broth was ok and got the job done, but was not flavorful enough to stand out from the crowd. The pork with garlic sauce was good and the moo shu chicken was very good.
