We used to come here a lot and really liked it. Unfortunately once Josephine stopped being a regular server the service went downhill. The last straw was when we waited a long time dor a meal and my wife's meal came and mine never did though I was assured it was on the way. Eventually the server came back with the check and asked me how was everything. I told her I wasnt accustomed to paying for a meal that I did not receive. I was not happy and haven't been back since. A big issue to me is that on Sundays when people would get out of church the server would kiss ass of the big tables trying to shmooze for a big tip and completely ignore us. Food was fresh, hot and they give you plenty. The only complaint is that they didn't put a lot of sauce on my chicken and broccoli.

First time ordering from here and we're looking forward to receiving the food if it ever arrives. We ordered at 7:30p and was told an hour. It's now after 9p and still no food. I called around 8:45p and was told it left 6 minutes prior. We're only an exit away. However I understand other deliveries just be realistic with time estimates. Solid Chinese choice relative to the area. We had the Broccoli Beef & General Tsao's - both were good.

My husband and I have both been craving sweet and sour chicken and wonton soup. We're new to the area, and we are happy to have found a good Chinese restaurant close to home. We will definitely get take out from here again. Everything was delicious! read more

I had the worst experience yesterday! I went to order my food online and I typed the expiration date and they had the wrong one. I called back and told them the right one. Then I called back 2 and 1 half hours later and they hadn't even put the order in. read more

Easily the best Chinese food in the area. Great sesame chicken, great soups, pretty decently prices and very generous portions for the price. I always look forward to eating there. read more

This is worst chinese food i have ever had. Really dissappointed. We got hunan beef that taste nothing like beef more like chicken too sweet, mongolian beef that was basically onions with some beef thrown in it and even the house rice was gross with that nasty after taste. Best in the area, easily. Quality is on par with restaurants in Atlanta. They are consistent, friendly, and the price is right! I always order the Kung Pao Chicken and House fried rice whenever I try out a new to me, Chinese food establishment. China Star did not disappoint. Good job! For A Chinese Restaurant just down the road, it is very good. Prices are fair. Memu selection adequate. Decor is a well above any other shopping mall Chinese Restaurant. This really made the place go a 4+, but I see 5 as perfect and rarely give out 5. Kids eat there and really enjoyed the food as well. read more

Salt and pepper calamari or shrimp are just spot on excellent. The S + P calamari is cooked with some jalapeno peppers (not too hot though) for a really interesting and flavorful dish. Can't go wrong with free refills on drinks which is more than I can say for some competing area Chinese kitchens. And they keep it coming. read more

China star on Jonesboro road next door to Kroger in McDonough ga. I only gave two stars because I have ordered from here for past year or so. My last 3 experiences have not been the best. This time was the worst ive ever experienced. The regular fried chicken was old and extremely dark brown and the honey wings tasted old as well. seemed as though they tried to cover taste up with too much honey. The presentation was not its best and the rice were hard and seemed like it had soy sauce already on it which ive never experienced there. Like always I live 5 miles away in driving and they will take 1 to 2 hours to get here. extremely disappointed. the service/delivery use to be way better. Epic fail for this restaurant! read more

I was looking for a more authentic style Chinese restaurant, but this one is just like the others...more Americanized Chinese style and typical menu selections. However, service was great and the food was cooked pretty good, not too salty. Tastes about right. The decor in the restaurant was nice. A decent Chinese restaurant in the Henry County. However, if you are looking for real authentic Chinese food, then you should go up to Gwinnett County. read more

This place is terribly inconsistent. Sometimes it's quite good and other times it's just ok or downright disappointing. My family orders from here quit often because there aren't a lot of alternatives that deliver. We often joke that the good chef or bad chef was working that night, depending on whether the food was good or not. Our latest order the fried rice had no egg and no onion in it. Our fam loves this little place. The owner is awesome and the atmosphere and food are great.

Last time i was there with my co-workers, we had a really bad thing happen. As the server was bringing our food and putting it on the table, a roach jumped off of the plate of my co-worker and scurried into the corner of the table under the condiments holder. At this time, we have already eaten our egg roll and wing. Of course we were disgusted. We decided to leave. The manager on duty still wanted us to pay for the food we had aleready eaten. I told him that i was not willing to pay for the food I had already eaten for obvious reasons. The manager was insistent that we pay for the food. I told the manager that I will pay for the food once he calls the police and the health department. Once i presented him with this offer, he kindly told us there was not charge and told us to have a good day. We all later called the health department and filed a complaint. Honestly, the food was very good and I would go there about 2 times per week. After seeing a roach, I could not bring myself to come back. read more
