I used to work close to this place so I've been there many times. Let's face it, no American style Chinese food place is mind blowing and this one is no exception. What it is though is consistent, quick, and affordable. I've gotten several different things off the menu over the years and never had a bad experience. Even though I no longer work near them I find myself making the 20 minute drive each way when I want Chinese. The best Cantonese take-out in Central Vermont, you will be happy with the portion sizes and the extensive menu at affordable prices. Our order was ready in 10 minutes. It's been a while since I've ordered from here - at one point it was one of the only take-out options - and they have upped their game. Vibrant, bright vegetables, colorful fried rice, plump shrimp, and incredible dumplings, fried or steamed. There are 5 to an order, and they gave us 8 to an order. That's the kind of place this is - along with complimentary fried rolls and fortune cookies - that makes all the difference. Highly recommend the General Tso's chicken - the best I've ever tasted, broccoli with garlic sauce (perfectly steamed - crisp and bright, not over cooked and soggy), the fried rice, and the dumplings. Perfectly plump, enveloped with a thick and chewy wrapping, and tender meat inside, perfect for pouring in their garlic-ginger dipping sauce. I am so glad I ignored the negative reviews and gave this place a try. I was picking up an Rx at the pharmacy next door and was in the mood for Chinese Food. I ordered a large wonton soup, a small hot and sour soup, and Mushu chicken. I had the hot and sour soup for dinner with some of the mushu. They provided the proper rice pancakes (I've gotten flour tortillas elsewhere once-very bizarre). The soup was delicious and the flavor was subtle: it was also chock full of mushrooms, tofu, etc. and it was delicious. I also found the Mushu to be quite good. My parents came to visit a couple days later and my dad had wanted some hot and sour soup after I'd talked about it, so we ordered several appetizers for dinner. Mom and I split the wonton soup I had in my fridge and we got him a large hot and sour, a large order of bone-in ribs, an order of steamed dumplings, and an order of broccoli in garlic sauce. Everything was delicious and my mom said that the dumplings were more flavorful than she'd had previously (they were excellent). The soup dumplings were delicately flavored as was the soup (as it should be). My dad loved the soup, too. The ribs were to die for: that awesome Chinese sticky sauce and they were generous sized. The broccoli in garlic sauce was equally delicious and there was so much food, we actually had leftovers. We all agreed that everything tasted fresh and not overly salty, which can be a problem elsewhere. I believe that they do a lot more from scratch than one would expect. It's Chinese take-out, and pretty good for what it is. Their pan fried dumplings have a nice texture wrapping, not the thick gummy wrappings that some places offer. There are not many places that make a chow fun. Their chow fun noodle is okay, fulfills the craving. Today, I ordered the shrimp & broccoli lunch special. It came with some fried rice. Super greasy and mediocre food. The fried rice was soaking in a pool of oil at the bottom. The garlic sauce barely had any flavor. Very bland stuff. Needed a ton of hot sauce to add flavor. Ordered at restaurant and they made it quickly. Closed for indoor dining but there's a park with a bunch of picnic tables across the road. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of food at this small, family run, take out joint in Waterbury. Yes, this is simple, Americanized, Cantonese fare, but the offerings are solid and fairly priced. Just rolled with shrimp lo mein and an egg roll. Both were wicked greasy, and the lo mein tasted like it sat in the pan a bit too long. The price was cheap, but so was the quality. The folks inside were nice, though, and the place is clean. read more

Better than three stars, but a little less than four. For Americanized Chinese take-out, it's good, especially for the area. While you can dine in (and I have), the ambiance is not good, just plain jane. For take-out, the food is ready on time and hot. Everything I've had there has been good. Recently I just had the Four Seasons which had chicken, beef, pork, and shrimp, plus the standard Chinese vegetables, which were really good. There wasn't a lot of sauce on the bottom of the container, which was good for me. Wife had the Moo Shoo Vegetables and she was happy with them (she's a picky eater). As usual, you will get two meals from each dish, so you'll have leftovers for another night. I will continue to take out from here when I'm in the mood for Chinese food. read more

Hands down the best fried dumplings in Vermont. For me this is saying a lot, coming from Chicago, and indulging in delicious dumplings from Boston's Chinatown as well. I know a good dumpling! LOL. I work nearby and find my way there every week or so. The pork lo mein is great, the beef broccoli... The atmosphere is standard carry-out but still comfortable to sit and eat lunch. Carry-out is quick, and there's usually a bonus spring roll! to eat on the drive home (maybe because I'm a regular). It's a family run business- very nice people and always pleasant. I ate here a couple nights ago after doing some snowshoeing at Bolton Valley. I thought the prices were reasonable and the quality of food was fair - about what you would expect for budget Chinese food. I enjoyed the pork fried rice - it was tasty and better than average. The Chow Fun was fine, but nothing special. I was really hoping for more quantity of food, though - we ate in, and the meals were served on smallish plates. I easily finished a full order of Chow Fun along with a small fried rice side order. I shouldn't go hungry spending $10 in a place like this. C'mon - load up my plate and fill up my belly! read more
