We were vacationing in Stowe and followed this Yelp review to Fu Lins. The place was in the middle of nowhere and we were the only ones in the dining room. However, the food was very well done and was not pricey at all. Better than anything we ate in stowe and a 1/4 the price. Ordering on the phone can be a little frustrating. Lots of explaining and still an error with my last take-out order. I wish they had online ordering like other local places. The food is a notch above other local Chinese places, for sure. Double whatever wait time they tell you or you'll be standing around for a bit. They are not speedy! House fried rice is pretty skimpy on anything but rice. Fried meat wontons are really good. Probably my favorite thing there. It's a decent B-range joint. read more

I never like to leave bad reviews but this place is really messed up. Came here with over an hour before they closed. Didn't think it would be an issue. Got the sesame chicken combo. Received an an entire plate that had literally zero pieces of chicken. It was just breading with zero pieces of meat in the entire dish. Not even an exaggeration either. By the time I realized they had locked the doors and turned off the lights. I was in the middle of a two hours drive to go camping and it was raining out. So this left me extremely hungry the rest of the night with no way to get any other food cooked. read more

My girlfriend and I were visiting the area from Pittsburgh and we love Chinese food and we get it everywhere we go. This Chinese was on par if not better than some of are favorites! I got general Tsos chicken with lo mein and my girlfriend got sesame chicken with lo mein. Both were plated beautifully. The restaurant has a "carry out" feel but there's a few tables in there that makes for a nice dining room. Oh! We also got spring rolls. They were so good we ordered another order halfway through our meal. Super good! I highly recommend this place and if we're in the area (hopefully we are) again then we will definitely eat here. read more

We wanted a scorpion bowl, found that no Chinese food restaurant in Mo-ville serves alcohol. Had to go grocery shopping next door, so settled on Fu Lin's. Kind of a take-out atmosphere, but has seating. Reminds me of a Chinese Mafia joint you'd see in Kung-fu movies, but no fights or pencil thin mustached china man with dark shades and a suit to be had. We were therefore safe, but left with a lack of entertainment. Food was good. Pretty typical of an above grade Chinese restaurant, traditional, but not greasy or heavy. Portions were large. Crab Rangoons were as generic (still tasty) as they get. The scallion pancakes are a standout as is the house made teriyaki dipping sauce that comes on the side. Wife had tofu w/ black bean sauce and was very pleased. I had the chicken w/ garlic sauce (menu indicated the dish would be spicy, however it was not) - pretty standard. Again, the main course portions were huge! Basically two meals, eat half there and take home the rest...all for a decent price. Three apps and two main courses for $30 + tip. read more

Actually called New Fu Lin's, this is the best in the area in my opinion. Family owned and operated with friendly service. General Tso's chicken Dinner combo is great (C17) and it's about $6.00. All of the combos come with choice of appetizer and rice. Be sure to have them confirm your order back to you because they sometimes have difficulty with English. Just stopped in for lunch and had the Hunan Chicken which was prepared with just enough "hot" and plenty of chicken, fresh vegetables and rice. My companion had the General Tsao Chicken and it was spicy enough to make his nose run- now that's good!!-) This family restaurant has a homey feel. We live in Stowe, and will make the drive to come to Fu Lin's instead of going to our local Chinese restaurant in Stowe simply because the food here is better. It is a step above your standard American style Chinese restaurant, with fresh ingredients and authentic sauces. I prefer the unbreaded chicken dishes, and really love their Kung Pao. The vegetables are very fresh and cooked to perfection every time. I tend to stay away from the pork dishes, as they often use a precooked pork roast (ala pork ribs appetizer) that I find to be really tough. Otherwise, the dishes are really quite good. The food isn't greasy or salty. Be aware though, this place is really bare bones if you are eating in. They have real plates and silverware, but you will drink from a red plastic Coke cup, and the decor is just well, cheap and tacky. But, if that is what keeps the prices low, then it is a win in my book. There is the issue that the tables are pretty close, and you will hear every word said at your neighboring tables. Service, by the way, is very good. You will most likely be seated by the owner's young daughter. She is quite polite and mature for her age, getting drinks and bringing your bill. The owner will take orders, and is very friendly, though quiet. Usually there is another woman helping in the kitchen, but the last time it was just the owner running everything on her own and the service was slowl. I hope this is just a one-time staffing issue, but we will still probably go even if the service continues to be slow because we really like the food and the people. read more

We recently had dinner here while skiing at Stowe.We try to make it back every time we are lucky enough to be in the area.The food is very good the tea is really nice.The service was as good as any anywhere.There was plenty of left overs to take back to the motel for the next day.Its not a fancy stuffy place but a place for good Chinese food .Wish it were closer to our house back in Pennsylvania ! read more

Although the food was good (albeit nothing really new here - same chinese food menu you get anywhere in the USA at any Chinese restaurant), the atmosphere was contrived and artificial - The tables were placed in a way that no matter where we sat, we were fully aware of other people's conversations. Lighting was bland and unimaginative, and the "artwork" looked like the kind of stuff the owner would buy in a catalog titled "Cheap mass-produced art and stuff to hang on the walls of your generic looking Chinese Restaurant". So yes, it was cookie cutter, but at least the food was above average, as were the generous portion sizes - lots of leftovers to take home. The 9 year-old waitress / I suppose daughter of the owner(?) was kind enough, though she laughed at me when I asked if they offered ice-cream or anything at all for a dessert option. I did like that they offered us a variety of teas to choose from when we ordered hot tea: Jasmine, Green Tea, Oolong, or "Smoky". We got the Jasmine and it was lovely. The Wonton Soup was lacking a bit in flavor, but the 6-to-8 dumplings inside were cute and bite-sized, which I liked. They also served us those awesome deep fried crispy noodles in a bowl - LOVE those! Not sure if there was any pork inside the pork egg rolls, but they were hot and crispy, so that's a plus, right!? Overall I'd say a good place to for chinese food, but not a good place to go on a date (lesson learned the hard way - somehow my girlfriend is still with me). read more
