I am not a real big pea and carrot eater. I ordered the seafood fried rice. I got scallops, shrimp, and I don't know what the other white looking fish was. I also received a large amount of peas and carrots. I picked out the white stuff and the majority of the peas and carrots. For me, the dish was ruined. I also ordered Shezuan prawns. Why did I get broccoli as a filler under the shrimp in the sauce? Disappointed! These are the normal ingredients: Szechuan prawns typically include prawns, Szechuan peppercorns, garlic, ginger, chili oil, and a sauce made with soy sauce, vinegar, and sugar. Other common ingredients can include green onions, chili paste, sesame oil, and optional vegetables like red bell peppers and water chestnuts. Food was very tasty. My favorite was the wonton noodle soup. The noodles were chewy and broth was light and refreshing. Not overly salted or heavy. The mushrooms and seafood were perfectly cooked. The soybean was super tasty. My friend had the fried rice and tempura shrimp and she loved both. The prices were great. We had these 4 dishes plus a side of hot and soup for $60. Service was super fast and staff were friendly and accommodating. Oh the hot tea - green tea, was also crisp and refreshing. It was not super busy, which was surprising as the food was quite delicious. There were lots of to-go orders though. Nice ambiance for us as we were able to enjoy the meal and talk without much background noise. Definitely try this place out if you want a tasty meal. read more

I feel like we have found our new go to Chinese spot in Fairfield! We ordered chicken chow mein, salt and pepper pork chops, honey walnut prawns and Mongolian beef. Everything was outstandingly good! We based on how good everything was we certainly look forward to trying more things in the future. The ambiance isn't anything amazing but honestly a good Chinese place doesn't have to be. As long as the food is great and the place is clean I could care less about the ambience or how it's decorated. The staff was friendly and attentive and with food this food I can certainly understand now how this place gets 5 full stars on yelp. I'm already looking forward to coming back again! read more

I saw someone post on Facebook that China Stix reopened in Fairfield and took my daughters immediately. There isn't really any good Chinese restaurants in Solano County and we loved the restaurant when it was in VV. The food is just as good as I remember. We ordered wor wonton noodle soup, bbq pork fried rice, chicken chow mein, and szechuan beef. We were also given complimentary crab rangoons which were delicious! The food is fresh and so flavorful. You know I was hesitant when I first came here for dinner. I saw the great reviews, but it was practically empty when I came and the service was a bit slow, but man the food was solid here. The place is clean and the waitress obviously is doing more than just waiting on people (it's a small business family run) and she was very kind to us. We ordered rice, war won ton soup, salt and pepper prawns, beef chow mein and sesame chicken. It was about a ten minute wait and then we got the soup. It was super hot and maybe slightly too salty for my taste but overall not bad. The main course is where this gets its points. The chow mein was delicious, the salt and pepper prawns were excellent (featuring some of the tastiest onions I've ever eaten) and the sesame chicken was great. With the chicken and prawns there wasn't an overbearing amount of batter on it. It was a great little find so close to where we live. I'll definitely be back to try more! read more

We were loyal patrons of China Stix Vacaville and were saddened when they closed that location. Found out just yesterday that they relocated to Fairfield and had to go right away! This new place is more spacious, over-all more comfortable-- definitely have more room for get-togethers. We truly missed their Honey Walnut Prawns, there is nothing like it... The batter is just perfect! We came around lunchtime on a Saturday. The service was fast, the food was fresh, cooked right, no complaints! The place is run by a family, they are accommodating and we are really happy that they are back in business! First time trying China Stix on New Year's Eve after stumbling upon the restaurant through other Yelp reviews. Called in for pick up and ordered chicken chow mein, Chinese potstickers, Hunan chicken, and pork buns. Long story short, the food was great! You can tell it was a family run business and the service and quality of food did not disappoint. Chicken chow mein had a thicker of a middle than Ive had at other places, but it was great. Flavor was on point, it was still hot when I got home and tasted fresh. The Hunan chicken had a great flavor, though it is spicy. Not overly spicy to where it's unbearable but if you're sensitive to spicy foods, probably wouldn't be a good selection. Otherwise, the veggies were cooked well and still had some crunch and the chicken was cooked well and was tender. The steamed pork buns were delicious! I'm a fan of pork buns, so I had to try these. The bread was nice and fluffy and the pork was slightly sweet and tasted great. The potstickers were delicious. They were the "Chinese" potstickers (the menu offers different styles) and had a thicker wrap, which I enjoyed. Overall, this will be our go-to Chinese place from now on. Bonus that it's a nice family run restaurant too. Give them a try - I doubt you'll be disappointed. Bonus review: the leftovers warmed up nicely. The one thing I noticed most was the consistency of flavor and texture of everything we ordered. All items were cooked to perfection like the crispiness of the sweet and sour pork and walnut prawns. Even the wontons in our worwonton soup were better than your average. They tasted more homemade with fresh ingredients (really liked the wrapper on them). The veggie egg foo young was very tasty as well. They are quick so you don't have to wait too long for your food. We came on a Thursday evening and although there were guests, there was plenty seating. Would recommend! Our service was good but there was another couple that came in after us that waited for about 20 minutes and end up leaving because no one took their order. Yes, this is the same China Stix that used to be in Nut Tree (Vacaville). Best Chinese food, when they first closed I was legit so sad about it. Once I saw they opened up in Fairfield, the family and I came here right away. Salt and Pepper Shrimp is the best, no one makes it like they do. Super crispy, jalapeños, fried garlic, and onions. I've tried many other Chinese food places, this family makes it best. Wor Won Ton Soup and Seafood Tofu Soup is also some of my go to's here. We never tried China Stix back when they were in Vacaville, but given they opened right down the street, and we don't want to cook for the rest of the year, we decided to try them out. Delicious! We tried the Hunan Chicken, Mongolian Beef, BBQ Pork Chow Mein, Crab Rangoon, and Honey Walnut Prawns. Every single item felt fresh and flavorful. Nothing was bland or icky tasting. I can not rave enough about how satisfied we were! Most importantly...if they ask you if you want spicy sauce, say YES. I don't know what they put in it, but that little ramekin of red chili sauce was so incredibly delicious I would order from here again just for that sauce ALONE! I am praying they are successful in this new location (which many may say is not the BEST location) and plan to support them regularly if they continue to be as high quality as they are!!! read more
