It was my first time visiting. I grew up in Chicago for context. I grew up going to Lees chop suey near Elston and Fullerton along with maybe two other smaller hole in the wall spots exclusively. It's very hard to find good Chinese food in outside of the city. This is a smaller restaurant. Given it is a small restaurant I think customer service should be a little better. Greeting customers is important. I ordered the combination pan fried noodles, a small wonton soup, shrimp egg rolls and a Diet Coke. They forgot to give me my Diet Coke. I never check but something inside told me and I listened. I went back in. When I got home I got everything I ordered. Flavor wise everything was good. I have watched a lot of master chef mind you. I know about flavorrrr. In terms of the wonton soup I wish the wonton wrap was thinner. The soup and wontons themselves had good chicken broth flavor and I think inside the wontons was pork, very yummy. Shrimp egg rolls were good but I wish I was given sweet and sour sauce and soy sauce like when you go to any other Chinese place. I understand prices are crazy for inventory but giving soy sauce and sweet and sour should be formality and the brand new customer shouldn't be surprised when they get home. Charge an additional dollar per order to give that or something if cost is the problem. RED FLAG! Combination pan fried noodles was a good flavor also. The noodles resemble the crunchy ones in the bag just thinner and they give you more noodles. Yummy, maybe I'll try lo mein next time. I expect soy sauce and sweet & sour to be included plssss. Ordered Vegetable Chow Mein. When I got home I realized all I got was a bowl of steamed (not flavored at all) vegetables. When I called I was told "Chow Mein does not have noodles in it. If you want noodles you have to order Lo Mein". Since when does Chow Mein not have noodles? Either way the vegetables should have at least been seasoned. I'm glad I spent $10 on a bowl of vegetables. read more

I am a hardcore fan of Crab Rangoon and go to many restaurants just to have them. so talk about this place I only went to get a take out for my cravings for crab rangoon.but then looking at their good dinner portions I picked up hunan chicken my dinner too. look wise, yes you can't go on a date and probably avoid dine in too. but this place you can carry out or get it delivered for a great satisfying meal. The other reasons I loved the place was the guy who was friendly, usually asian folks won't look at you and just concentrate on your money and would consider you as dead to them until they meet you again and same thing continues. I liked the fact he greeted me, gave his suggestions and accommodated me during one harsh winter night. Their food was great with huge portions and fresh. I started eating their crab rangoon instantly in car. and they were good. I would say their dinner portions good, so if you're sharing a meal one entree with a couple of side of extra rice should be good. We have been going here for years and this was the first really bad experience we have had. My Kung Pao chicken was either cooked in rancid oil or in the same pan and oil a gush fish was prepared. Threw it out immediately. My wife's shrimp with Chinese vegetables had just pea pods...bland and no variety. But high marks for the steamed pork dumplings. Excellent take out place in Lake Zurich that makes fresh, quality Chinese food at dair prices. Really good soups including hot and sour and wonton, fried rice is also excellent. The specialty entrees are large portions with jumbo shrimp, nice cuts of beef, sautéed chicken and fresh veges. I'm still in search of a really good Chinese food place in the northern Barrington/Lake Zurich area. China Style is solid, but isn't anything special. The lunch/dinner specials are a good value as you get the entree plus a limited selection side of your choice. Everything I've had is good...not a ton of flavor, but good enough. Orange chicken is one of the more flavorful dishes. I also like the shrimp with vegetables. Crab rangoons are mostly cream cheese, but still taste okay. The shrimp egg rolls are better than average. The pork egg rolls are nasty; I wouldn't recommend. Spring rolls are also not too good. The place is usually busy and you should expect long waits for your food, especially on Friday nights. If it says 20 minutes wait time on the website, expect 40. Overall, lots of choices and consistent results. I'd recommend, but don't expect amazing taste. read more

We ordered Kung Po chicken. As anyone knows, Kung Po is supposed to be DICED MEAT AND VEGTABLES! Lazy cooks put big hunks of meat and veg in a dish because it takes less prep time. Duh- Plus, anyone knows, Kung Po is supposed to be spicey or have some level of kick. Here? Nope.Bland. Bla. Soy sauce, soy sauce... just bland. China Style is just an average Chinese take out joint, like most in the Lake Zurich area. Egg rolls were unassuming, I can always know how good a Chinese restaurant will be by their egg rolls, Meh. Ordered beef chow mein and kung pow chicken. The chow mein was just ok and must have had a pound of celery added to it, Meh. Kung pow was decent but rather bland, nowhere near enough spice. As compared to other Chinese take out in the area, I found China style to be rather expensive. If you're in the area, you might want to check them out but they are not worth making a long trip for. read more

Solid place for takeout! We take pass by here going to indoor practice all the time. It's always busy for dinner. Our place in Cary got us sick so China takeout has been non existent. We were looking for a Chinese place that is a little closer to our home and since this place got great reviews we decided to try it. I expected so much more and was so disappointed. I ordered shrimp with lobster sauce and what I got was a container with good size shrimp but filled with fake lobster. I have never gotten fake seafood in my shrimp lobster sauce. They were mushy slimes fake seafood. Horrible and there was a lot in there. It was gross. Shrimp egg rolls has four small shrimp and the rest of the filling was cabbage. Never again.
