I always order takeout on the shrimp Singapore noodles as im familiar with this dish whenever i crave for this. They cooked it like it is in Singapore. Made of bee hoon (rice vermicelli) with chili spices (spicy) and shrimp. Decent amount of shrimp but i add a few more cooked ones when i get home. Fast service and decent eating place. Could be better but they have been in this same spot for years as i see different family members helping out. I believe they tried hiring new cooks but retaining staff is a difficult responsibility for a small eatery. As for those who commented about plastic melts....that can happen when piping hot food is contained in plastics. Hot soups can spill over so be mindful when you carry them out to be eaten at home. A good renovation at the seating area (revamp menu board) and kitchen will give a boost in outlook but this business is about family survival...paying their bills. read more

Been going here for 5 years, a family favorite. Must have each time are the appetizer order of boneless spare ribs, made crispy or extra crispy, sweet soft and a little char. Beef with snow peas, super tender beef. Crab Rangoon, egg foo Yung, and Mongolian anything. If you want anything spicy you must ask for extra extra spicy. We've eaten here every few weeks for five years. It's always at least decent and prices are fair for Chinese takeout. But lately the food has been better than usual. Most recently we had chicken with broccoli, orange chicken,pork fried rice and crab rangoon. Only the fried rice was just average, but the rest was really good. It even heated up well the next day. For years I avoided this restaurant because the food wasn't good, the packaging leaked all over my car one time with a big hole in the lid of the wonton soup, and the last straw was getting sick from eating there. But after many years we tried it again and it was just fine. Food was good, service was good. I suspect it now has totally different owners or managers. Very Friendly service but did not like the taste of the food. I ordered a combo plate. Pepper beef and tomato, egg drop soup and steamed dumplings. Pepper beef had an ok flavor but kind of bland and all I can taste is the tomato flavor. Rice with the combo plate was extremely dry and no real flavor ( white rice would have been better) Egg drop soup was the best thing that I ordered but still it was just averge. The last thing was dumplings.The filling was minimal and I ate one and tossed the rest out because of the taste. I ordered from here because I was in the area and the reviews on Google were mostly positive. The reviews here on Yelp were more mixed and I wish I would have also checked here before I ordered. What COUNTS is the local attention to detail and this family-owned/run shows it. With the COVID situation, I can order in from an incredibly wide range of Chinese food. I don't order from them. The family finally contracted with a delivery service to satiate their customers. In person pickup is also available. Wauconda is my home town and I love this place. In fact it is the best Chinese food I've ever had. I've traveled a lot and I've lived in other states and I can never find a place that comes close to comparing. The food is never overcooked, which seems to happen far too often when you deep fry little chunks of meat. The sauce on the meats is always plentiful and flavorful. Panda is DEF. not my favorite place to eat. The flavor is just not good. It taste like fake Chinese food. I know that sounds weird but thats the only way I can describe it. I loved dragon China in Wauconda but its gone now, even golden house buffet was way better. The owners of panda are so rude its unbelievable their still in business. Prob still in business cause its the only Chinese food place in the Wauconda area. Our family loves Chinese food and its such a shame that panda is our only option for Wauconda. I will admit that the sweet and sour chicken and chicken and broccoli is one of the better dishes they have. The owners really need to work on their people skills. We are so glad to be able to go back. We've been ordering take out literally for generations at the restaurant. Our grown children say that Panda's food has spoiled them for all other Chinese food restaurants. Vegetables are fresh and crisp, spices are done well, great value meals.
