This is really good Chinese food. The dumplings have a thick wrapper- I don't know what you call it exactly but it's the kind I've always loved and struggle to find at Chinese takeout. The lo mein is a little dry, but everything else I've been happy with. Prices are reasonable. It's primarily a takeout place- don't plan to sit and eat there as it's not that type of place. Decided to give Wang's a try. Overall, the kitchen was clean and the staff was friendly. The food... Good: the egg roll was great. Easily the best part of the meal. The Egg Drop soup was good too. Tons of flavor and not watery. Bad: The General Tso chicken was a ton of small fried pieces that had little actual chicken in them. The pork fried rice was bland and didn't have lots of pork either. I also ordered the chicken lo mein. Same deal. Just basic Chinese - no vegetables in it. Overall, basic Chinese and better options in the neighborhood for the items I ordered. read more

I was on a job close by and Wang's hasn't been reviewed lately, so here goes! With the travel I do, I feel I'm becoming an expert on shopping center Chinese food. This place has gotten some bad press just for the customer "no" service. My experience was totally different. I arrived early and my order was already done. Now the guy at the counter wasn't exactly Chatty McChatcakes, but he greeted me and thanked me. No worries. We"ll let the food do all the talking; which it did! The Hunan Shrimp was very flavorful with an appropriate amount of entree and rice combined. The egg roll was slightly over browned, but flavorful the way you'd expect. We ordered dinner from this restaurant on Friday. The food was good but they purposely overcharged us. We used Uber Eats and the restaurant put the additional charged on our bill after the fact. Wangs is always so delicious and consistent with all their dishes there service is top-notch. The other day I didn't have my wallet with me and they still gave me my food. We go to Wang's Kitchen on a regular basis and have tried many menu items, all have been delicious. I call in my order and then leave to pick it up, always ready quickly and still nice and hot when we get it home. This is a small family run Chinese food restaurant. Limited seating that does not invite you to stay, this is more of a carry out location. We tried the combo specials which includes egg roll (average) and pork fried rice (above average with good amount of pork and veggies). Beef with broccoli was decent as was the Hunan shrimp with large size crustaceans and plenty of veggies to ease your guilt for eating fried rice and an egg roll. Definitely torn better a 3 & 4 star rating but their little boy entertaining himself in the dining room pushes it over to the higher rating. read more

This was the chicken "chow mein" When you order chow mein to go, it give you the option to get different types of fried rice or lo mein, neither of which was chow mein. I called and they said chow mein didnt refer to the noodles, but rather the cabbage and onion. Food was fine though, they just had a misleading option on the menu read more

After three visits here, I feel it's safe to say I can finally yelp about this place. This family run establishment is just outside of downtown Apex, at the corner end of a strip mall that may cause you to drive right past it if you didn't know any better. Their PuPu platter is solid, as is there egg roll, sesame chicken, shrimp chow mein (which is loaded with baby shrimp in comparison to other Chinese restaurants) and their prices aren't half bad either. Like most Chinese restaurants in the are, there are tables there, but definitely more of a 'to go' vibe from this place. If you do walk in, you're not waiting long for your food at all which is nice. The only thing I'm not a huge fan of is the Crab Rangoon but if you've seen my other yelp reviews, you know I'm super particular about them. They are good, just. Not the best I've had. The wonton they use is a little too thick, but you get a large portion with one order. There are a few other Chinese restaurants closer to us, but the quality here makes the short drive worth it. read more

Just an FYI that the "chicken fried rice" is sticky, flavorless dark yellow rice chock full of large chopped pieces of onion and a very meager amount of very small pieces of chicken. As with the typical fried rice with added chicken, there were no colorful veggies, no egg, no spring onion, nothing but big chunks of onion and very little chicken. read more

The food is great - the sweet & sour chicken & sesame chicken have always been our favorites, and they've never skimped on portions. I can't tell if the food here is good or not, because I couldn't get pass the horrible customer service! I went to this restaurant, very excitedly, specifically because of their better than average Yelp rating. When I tried to share this with the young lady behind the counter, who seemed a little unhappy, her 1st words were "we don't advertise with them!" When I tried to explain to her what I was talking about she stated, "I know who they are, what do you want?!" To say that I was appalled would be putting it midly. This place is a dump and is nasty. I walked in to be greeted by a homeless guy camped out in the dining room who asked everyone for money who walked in the door. The smell of the kitchen was awful and when I went to use the bathroom there was a sour smell that gagged me. I would not have ordered food except that I hadn't eaten all day. Do not let looks deceive you! This little hole in the all has some of the best Chinese food in the area! We have yet to pick a bad item from their soups, main dishes, fried rice, crab Rangoon, dumplings everything is so yummy!! Not over priced and usually I get a free 2 liter! The place is a little off putting. But other than that we have been eating here for 3+ years and have never had a bad dish. Don't know, last week this was considered my favorite chinese restaurant in Apex but after having ordered the exact same food today, I was very disappointed. The wings were either twice fried or over fried, whichever it was they were almost impossible to eat. The egg rolls were tough, dark and over fried. I know everyday won't be the same but we chose to come back due to first visit. Don't really care about the atmosphere and decor, all chinese restaurants that serve takeout are about the same. We regulary go to Wangs...Love It!!! We always get 2 large orders of Hot & Sour & Wonton (and other items) soups. My favorite is the Hot & Sour. It is Brilliant and it is so hard to stop eating it! Totally addicting! My daughter loves the Wonton and will finish a large in a blink. The Hot & Sour is so fresh and healthy! There have been times we have picked up soup orders twice in a day and or the following day. The staff has always been super nice (5 years+), very talkative, friendly and generous.
